if you`re really not sure what to buy, go to a Ritz Camera if there is one close to you. The associates there are really knowlegeable and can help you find one that`s right for you. You don`t necessarily have to buy your camera there, but you can get a feel for maybe one or two that you really like then shop around for the best price. I agree with most of the people here, Canon cameras are great, and I personally have a Nikon digital camera that I love.

I just bought a Canon Power Shot SX120 yesterday! I paid $200 ($230 with the tax and some batteries) and I got it at Wal-Mart. So far I`m LOVING this camera. I HATED my old camera. It was SOOOOO hard to get a good picture, they were always coming out blury, didn`t capture motion at all, just always really crappy. I paid $99 for that one at Wal-Mart less than 2 years ago, and I wanted it b/c it was pink, lol! I wanted a Nikon this time, but I liked this Canon better. It has 10.0 mega pixels and 10x optical zoom with zoom lens. I would love to have one of those super nice ones, like in the $400 range. One day! Well, hope you love your new camera whatever you choose!:)

I have a great camera (one of those small pocket cameras) that i love. You can get it at best buy, target and i think walmart. it was about $100. it takes great pics. I love the point and click cameras! Just check out the pixels, zooms, etc and get a brand you have heard of! Have fun!

I have a sony cybershot full HD and love it, it take great pictures. I think I paid about $250-$275 at walmart, I love it.

You can absolutely find a decent camera for $200. personally I love cannon cameras, but digital has come along way in 5 years and you`d have a hard time finding a `bad` one. That being said a great camera will be quite a bit more pricey. Future shop and Best Buy often have sales (check online) and for a point and shoot camera even Walmart is a good place to go.
