daisymae (824.4 days ago) I bet you are craving protein. Try beans, nuts, peanut butter....
daisymae (824.4 days ago) I have always been a meat eater but when I was pregnant I was completely disgusted by red meat and chicken. I couldn`t stand the sight of it, the smell of it, and definitely the taste of it. I bought and froze a chuck roast before I was pregnant and it stayed in the freezer for 9 months...lol. The thought of pot roast sent me running to the bathroom.
nutnut (824.5 days ago) im not a vegitarian, but with this pregnancy i crave meat. not chicken though, or fish. just red meat really. i dont typically eat much meat otherwise, and with my daughter i avoided it since the smell of it cooking made me vomit. with my daughter all i would eat was chicken. every pregnancy is different. sometimes i really wonder if there is something behind our cravings. if we crave what our body needs most at the time, avoid what it doesnt need? who knows. but this pregnancy all i want is red meat. my iron lvls got checked i forget what number but the dr. said they were just high enough, but he would like to see them a tad higher by the time im ready to give birth. they arent low, he said, but they arent that high either.
MummyLJ (824.9 days ago) I`m vegan, but craved cheese during pregnancy, and fried chicken! And I haven`t eaten meat in almost 15 years! So I settled for a KFC vegetarian sandwich (no mayo). They`re freaking delicious! Not so healthy lol, but I`d give it a try before going all out carnivore ;D And the belief that your body craves things it needs (like iron etc) is outdated and has been proven false over and over. Vegetarian and vegan diets are perfectly complete and healthy, as long as you eat balanced meals. Good luck!
canadababy (825.3 days ago) Actually it is a type of vegetarian, it`s called ovo-lacto-pesco vegetarian. Just like Pollo vegetarians avoid red meat and fish but eat chicken. while the pesco-pollo vegetarian avoids red meat but consumes both chicken and fish. from http://www.veggie123.com/veggie/chapter1/
MelissaJoanne (825.3 days ago) Eating fish = pescetarian, not vegetarian. I`m vegetarian, and while pregnant I was even more disgusted by meat than before. The only time I threw up was when I was around cooking meat, and the smell made me SO nauseous. If you`re looking for a certain taste but don`t want to eat an animal, try out some of the different fake meat products that are available. It might help the craving, without eating meat.
canadababy (825.3 days ago) I`m vegetarian and still eat fish, eggs and dairy. I did not crave meat at all during pregnancy :)
luvbeingamom (825.3 days ago) Chances are if you are craving meat that much, you are missing an important vitamin that you need. i was a vegetarian for years, but never pregnant. My SIL was told by her doc that she HAD to have beef b/c she wasn`t getting enough of something she needed but ofr the life of me, can`t remember what that was. I would speak to your doc about it and see if you can get it in other sources.
lovemyfamily (825.3 days ago) I wasn`t a true vegetarian when I was pregnant with my daughter but the only thing I ate was chicken before I was pregnant with her for TEN years. I also didn`t drink milk or eat eggs. Welllll I got pregnant with her and craved BEEF soooooooo badly it was ridiculous. My SO took me to the keg and I got a nice big steak and I have been eating beef and drinking milk ever since!! lol All I budged on though!!
