Angel-baby (820.8 days ago) I was torn as to whether or not give it to my family as we have an 11 week old baby. We have already lost a son last year so at first I wanted to get it to ensure that my little one didn`t get it from his big sisters.. After doing many hours of research, I decided not to because even though it has been tested, it hasn`t been tested enough. Like California mom said, I didn`t want my kids to be guinea pigs. One of the shots has mercury in it and they don`t know if any long term effects of the shot.. Plus, even if my kids did get the vaccine, they still can get the virus. I prayed about my decision and the next day, my neighbor and I were talking and her church had a prayer request for a boy in our area who was paralyzed from GETTING the H1N1 vaccine... Wow!! So I guess to each their own.. I just make sure my kids wash up often especially before handling the baby, etc... EditDelete
california-mom (821.5 days ago) For me, it seems too risky. We dont know long term effects not only to our kids but to our kids kids considering some can cause reproductive issues etc. My kids arent guinni pigs =S And I should say all 3 of my kids got it! Fast anf furious-High temp, cough runny nose etc but only last 3 days and they were up and about. EditDelete
sweetbabyboy (822 days ago) yes, I had both my sons done, hubby and I did our research and decided thats what was best for our children. It is such a personal choice and people are gonna tell you to do it, and people will tell you not to do it, go with your gut on this one and do what YOU think is right for your family. EditDelete
luvbeingamom (822.6 days ago) I didn`t get it for my boys or myself. I don`t get the flu shot for them in general, so didn`t feel the need to get this one. I don`t think there is any reason really not to get it and had any of us been at great risk, i think the benefits outweigh the risks in that situation. Though b/c of our risk group, where we live, etc, i didn`t feel the need to add extra chemicals into my kids mix. Though this also comes from a mom who has her kids fully vaccinated! Well almost, the flu and chicken pox both seem a bit over the top for me :-) EditDelete
googie32 (822.6 days ago) we have a 8 week old baby who I want to protect...I got it my three year old and my ten year old also got it...we are all fine and I`m happy with my decision EditDelete
lovemyfamily (822.7 days ago) Oh wow Cheekybee is that for the states?? or for Canada? Just reading through that in people who are advocating the vaccine makes it a lot more scary. It says basically on every page they do not know the optimal dosage yet, they do not know the effects it will have on pregnant or nursing mothers, they do not even know if it will decrease your risks of getting H1N1 etc. EditDelete
canadababy (822.7 days ago) I don`t think there is any reason not to give the vaccine, if I can avoid my daughter getting a possibly deadly illness then I will. My DD and I got the shot last week. EditDelete
tiffany2 (822.7 days ago) I did. I thought it was the best for our family. EditDelete
