canadababy (821 days ago) You don`t need to sponge bath only until the cord comes off, they`ve changed that practice in Canada. I gave my DD baths every few days, about twice a week, it was cold and dry here when she was born (Feb) and newborns don`t get that dirty anyway. It wasn`t until she was about 6-7 months old that we started giving baths more frequently, every 2nd day and just lately every day (9months old). Mostly because she loves the bath and it`s a fun way to pass the time :)
RobinG (821 days ago) Sponge bath only til the cord fell off. I bathed the next day and every couple of days. Not daily.
amazintrace (821.3 days ago) I gave my baby a good sponge bath every day. I warmed my bedroom up for him, our bed was the perfect height after my c-section. I doubled over a luxurious Lenox bath towel parked him right in the middle of it and cleaned him up good - gotta keep those babies smelling good! As soon as his belly button healed I put him in the tub. I had a baby tub but we prefered just putting him on a folded towel in the big bathtub. He has always loved his bath. Daddy baths him about 98% of the time after dinner, that`s our daily routine. Sometimes I get to help if I want to.
