kinta (781.1 days ago) i was about 6cm when i got the epidural...i didnt see it as chickening out, i saw it as completely necessary! I think i was 8 hours into my labour and then it took another 9 hours, 2 hours of pushing and half an hour with vaccum for her to come out! So I`m glad i did it!!
momma-n-six (819.3 days ago) My poll was not to offend anyone by saying they are a `chicken`. I tired a natural childbirth with my third and fourth children and asked for the drugs only to find out I was 7cent with one and 8 with the other. The epidural with my fourth child was so painful I was asking them in the middle to forget it, That I didn`t want it, and with it being given so late I felt just about everthing still. So I made it my will to go all the way natural with my fifth due to the bad epidural and a challange to myself to see if I could make it the third time around. The contractions were hell, but pushing was the best feeling in the world and I had a hard time stopping once I started. So again ladies this was a question to see how many have expereniced the same or similar settings. No one who bears and devliver another human being is a chicken to me. Sorry if anyone was offened.
hopefully3 (819.7 days ago) i wanted to go natural with my first! But hell no! Lol it was painful! i asked for an epidural and now i wouldnt do it any other way! i agree i dont think its chickening out! Child birth is hard! But oh so worth it!
canadababy (819.8 days ago) It`s not chickening out!! I was in labour for 36 hours before they gave me the epidural and I was only at 3.5cm! Sometimes it`s required, I`m pretty sure I would have lost my mind if I had to endure that pain for much longer. Plus I wasn`t dialating until I got the epidural and my body was able to relax. Epidural is a good thing :)
RobinG (819.8 days ago) I dont consider it chickening out at all ~ you are no less brave or less strong by changing your mind. When I was 4 cm I was in such horrible pain it was the right decision.
jaychay (819.8 days ago) i used gad and air and got a morphine injection when i was 6cm dilated
MILITARY~MOMMY (820 days ago) I was 14 hours in and still at 3cm when I got an epidural. I ended up with a c-section at 25 hours for failure to progress. If you want to go natural, avoid the pitocin.
