lovemyfamily (818.5 days ago) I have used blankets since birth as well. Always use knit blankets with large holes and it eliminates the risk of smothering.
mdbabyno1 (818.6 days ago) use a sleep sack type thing. We have one by Halo and it works great. My 16 month won`t keep a blanket on at night so with this I don`t have to worry about her being cole.
canadababy (818.6 days ago) My DD (9months) has always had a blanket as she would get out of the swaddle. I have thought about the sleeping bag, but now she stands up in her crib and I don`t want her to trip on the bag..so she keeps the 2 light blankets :)
Dezzi (818.6 days ago) I`m pretty sure its not too early for a blanket of somesort. I don`t use one simply because my lo just kicks t off right away. So I use a sleep sack instead, works wonders for me :)
ladykilla421 (818.6 days ago) You can use light blankies like a receiving blankets from birth onwards...just nothing like a comfprter or duvet....make sure its no higher than chest level so that he doesnt inadvertently fling it up over his face...I also but my LO`s warm thich socks that dont fit her anymore on her hands when she sleeps they are so much warmer than the mittens you can buy and I get to reuse her old sockies..
jas1987 (818.6 days ago) I had two blankets since birth on my son, then at 8 months i gave him his cot quilt i used it in the craddle so it was long and i tucked it in real tight... but i moved him in his cot when he was 11 months old and i now use a pillow, sheet blanket and bumper, he does fine with it... I still have his sound and movement monitor though...
Amalthea (818.7 days ago) my son has had a blanket since birth... he loved to snuggle up with it... still does to this day... if you are worried you could always put your son in one of those blanket sleepers.. will keep his toesies nice and warm...
RobinG (818.7 days ago) My kids all had them from day one ~ obviously at first it was the receiving blanket but once they stopped being swaddled it was a small blanket after. :) I have a valour matress sheet too and it really helps versus the standard sheet for warmth. Does he have his toes covered? They shouldnt be getting cold if covered. You can put light socks on too under PJs if so.
luvbeingamom (818.7 days ago) I have had a blanket with my children since birth. First swaddled and then just on top. I make sure they are breathable blankets until i am sure they can move them if needed.
nutnut (818.7 days ago) i dont think so. i used light weight blankets on my daughter. so long as they are chid sized and not thick or made of material that could suffocate them i dont see a problem. we used the small square fleece material with my daughter. just one in her crib. you could use the feety jammas. those are usually really warm i loved putting my daughter in them.
