katrina n (816.9 days ago) yes I explained to my daughter for two months before she turned two that when she turned two she was going to have to throw the bottles away, so when she turned two I pulled all the bottles out and had her throw them in the trash she did and never asked for them after that I guess she knew once something went in the trash they didn`t come out.My second daughter stop using her when we were on our three week vacation and couldn`t keep the milk cold, so she drank out of water bottles and cups at resturants and seemed as though she forgot about bottles after the three weeks were up.She was almost two.
Stay@HomeZOOKeepa (816.9 days ago) My opinion: 12 months, just give them cups instead. Mine have nuks at night, so they never had bottles in bed. They were all in love with the bottle and the love switched to the nuk (only given to in the crib or at nap times at around the same age). The nuk got tossed at about 17/18m... Good luck!! Like luv said maybe a long night or two but it will be over before you know it! Once you take them away, don`t give in and the longer you wait to ditch the bottle the more attachment, the more the fuss!
bellajenna (816.9 days ago) so i am pretty good with EC but not with this i took all the bottles and tossed them in the trash my little girl was 10mo and my son was on his 1st birthday.
love.nora (816.9 days ago) I saw on supernanny a sweet trick for kids to let go of their pacies and well it may work with bottles too. With pacifiers they hung them in the tree outside and told the little girl the pacie fairy was going to come and give her a new suprise. In the morning there was a new doll for her in the tree. I saw a bottle one where they cleared out all the bottles in the house and the child of course cried like crazy but then was more happy about big kid sippy cups that have a built in straw :D So replacing them and never going back seems to work well. I never had any problems with transitioning. Out of sight out of mind :D GL
luvbeingamom (817.3 days ago) With my older son i slowly switched the bottle for a sippy cup. Had a few long nights but it wasn`t as bad as i thought it would be.
