My first DD slept 20 hours a day for a long time and i would be scared she wasn`t eating enough cuz she slept so much, she wouldn`t wake up for feedings and it made it impossible to put her on a schedual. She slept threw the night at 2 weeks old and there was a few times i freaked out and thought she was dead becuz she was fast asleep. I know i`m silly but i usually touch thier hands or feet to get a lil movment out of them and i didn`t get n-e thing from her, scared the crap outta me. My 6 week old is up all the time and isn`t n-e thing like her big sister was.

i have a 2 week old and he sleeps most of the day but is up most of the night lol. its very normal at this age to sleep most of the time.

my daugther slept A ALOT, she slept about 7-8 hrs straight through at night and slept in 3-4 hour periods during the day. Consider your self lucky.

My second slept all the time as well. She would wake up at 9am go down for a two hour nap at 11am go down for another 2 hour nap at 3pm then go to bed at 6pm. It was crazy! I was worried at first as well, but she is perfectly healthy. Kids are just different.

My youngest had colic, but still slept 16-17 hrs around the clock...take advantage now it won`t last forever!! Rest, clean, do you!

I felt exactly the same way as you about a year ago. Actually, my son was almost 2 weeks old a years ago. He slept ALL THE TIME!!! It worried me too but it`s completely normal. Now he only takes about a total of 3 hours of naps, sometimes less and he`s 12 months old.

My son is 8 months, but when we first brought him home, he slept 20 hrs a day for almost a month! He was only awake to eat. He still takes about 4 hrs of naps, and sleeps 12 hrs at night. Some kids just sleep more than others ;)
