jessberr31 (815.8 days ago) Oh, one more thing I just thought of. I do believe retained placenta cases are higher for women that give birth naturaly (not saying it doesn`t or hasn`t happened). And thats probably b/c they clean your uterus out pretty good before they sow it up. I`m not positive, but I`m pretty sure thats right.
jessberr31 (815.8 days ago) Well, I had retained a small piece of plactea after a d&c (m/c #1) and I knew something was wrong after a few days and had to be put on antibiotics. Yes it smelled BAAAAAD, and I began a fever, and my belly was tender, within 3 DAYS. When I had my second m/c I was m/c`ing bad, BIG blood clots (the size of my friggin hand), so I went to the hospital. I hadn`t passed the baby yet, but they told me it would be pink and grey and be `fleshy`. So from what you described it sounds like you passed the `sac`. If you took a test and it was - maybe it was b/c of the pills. IDK how that works, with the pill I mean. BUT. If you were m/c`ing (or about to) your levels could have been SO low, low enough to not register on a urine test. Like I said, what you described was what I was told to look for by the ER dr. That night I passed a large clot that had fleshy grey pieces in it (SORRY TMI!). It wasn`t the baby, but it was `pieces` of the pregnancy. Before my d&c the next day I had an u/s and baby was still there (no HB). But what I saw the night before was `similar` to what you saw. I have also read TONS of m/c stories when going through mine and what you described is EXACTLEY what the ones who had natural m/c`s described. And they all said they could feel it coming out, and not like a normal bloodclot, like it was somehow different. Your dr will be able to tell you for sure, probably just by checking your cervix to see if the OS (I think thats what its called) is open. And its always good to get checked after m/c to make sure all is well. But seriously, if you had placeta inside you for 3 MONTHS, you would have known long before now I would think. Or passed it out with your first PP period. You would have deff had an odor by now, a NOTICABLE one if there was 3 month old placenta in there. And my bleeding after my d&c went from reddish brown (normal) to BLACK (deff not normal!)! I FLIPPED OUT when I saw that. The antibiotics had me cool within a day or so, and thank goodness b/c if I would have saw/smelled THAT on my pad again I would have passed out, lol! Good luck at your appt monday! Let me know what happens!
mdbabyno1 (816 days ago) The same thing happened to me! I got my period 4 weeks PP(yep definitely not a lucky one), went to my PP check up and everything was fine, then had my next period and something HUGE came out. i don`t know why but I didn`t go to the doctor, I probably should have. Everything has been fine since though. I`m sure my body was just flushing itself out. It was freaky though.
littlepixie (816.1 days ago) pregnancy test was neg. but thats not always true. id think after this long tho it would smell bad if it was
placenta. iv not had pains, some cramping this morning a few hrs b4 the lump. and was feeling sick the last few weeks, but i know yasmin can do that anyway so i think nothing of it. Now they blood is varying very dark to very bright red. and tiny clots. I had some clots with my PP bleed but they wer nothing compared to what came out by way of size.
Going to book app. for monday! the emergency helpline didnt seem worried because i dont have pain. Im worried because either way i know i should be checked and i know it can mean i have to have a D&C.
Thanks all for the advice!
magadociousrex (816.1 days ago) It could very well just be your womb lining that comes out every period. Some folks have that sort of thing every month- I`ve had it and my doc said it was literally just un broken down uterine lining from it shedding like normal.
christina76 (816.1 days ago) The placenta itself is a lot bigger than that. I would for sure see the doctor about it, wouldn`t hurt to have things checked.
