smiling politely (815.8 days ago) wow. here is Oz, its only legal to work 10 or so hours a week. me 15 your old niece just got a job, and was telling me about it. she is happy about it though, as it means she will never have to choose between money now or study-there should always be time for both.
shivon (815.8 days ago) if she is happy with it then it should be ok.
love.nora (815.8 days ago) I was in highschool and would run to work just to work the lunch hr and go back to school. Then after school I would go to work for 8 hours 5-6 days a week and pull in around 45 hrs a week. Then I had to gome home do my chores and homework and try to get some sleep. It may sound bad but having money at that age and keeping busy turned out to be really good for me.
lovemyfamily (815.8 days ago) The legal working age wherer I am from is 16. So 22 hours a week at 15 seems excessive to me. I would ask for at least 1 day off a weekend or every second weekend.
ibaheir2dathrone (815.9 days ago) I worked the limit at 15. As soon as I turned 16 I worked 4-close everyday during the week and 8+ hrs. on weekends. (I worked at McDonalds) I think it`s awesome to have a great work ethic. Long hrs. never hurt me. Matter of fact I think it did me a world of good!
RobinG (815.9 days ago) Def check with local laws ~ with being 15 I am sure there is a limit. And if it is to much it is up to her to express how many hours she`d prefer to work. I personally think it is to much. I think 15 hours is better ~
marli (815.9 days ago) I agree with luv, it definitely isn`t surprising with the holidays coming up. I would imagine that once January/February rolls around her hours will be cut back.
Str8 As (815.9 days ago) I know every state is different, but a 15yo should not have more than 20hrs per week. She can however work an 8hr shift on Fri and Sat because there is no school on the following day. Honestly though, I think the hours are fine since they are on the weekend.
luvbeingamom (816 days ago) With the approaching holidays it isn`t surprising. If she wants the hours and money and can keep up with her schooling and other aspects of her life then i would leave it alone. If she is complaining then tell her how to speak with her manager and explain that she can`t work those hours and keep up with ..... So she needs to have them cut back to (give them a set amount of ours).
