preggo04 (801.2 days ago) My advice would be try not to dwell on the fact that he`s leaving and try to push alot of things in to make up for time. For me it always feels like `wait we gotta do this and vacation and wait this too because you`ll be gone`....ect. When in reality there`s no way to make up for soon to be `lost time`. Just relax and enjoy the time you do have.
momof2under1:-) (803.6 days ago) board games! They are always fun. Also, i know the tv would be on, but Wii is very fun! And it gets you up and interacting with eachother. Just playing sports on wii gets us bonding
military~mommy (803.7 days ago) OK, this is from the warhammer web site, it tells you about the game and everything included in the set, but I am pretty sure you can find it cheaper somewhere else... This and paints is everything you need... Hope i don`t come off as too geeky, but we had alot of fun with this...

military~mommy (803.7 days ago) Haha, warhammer is a fantasy type game, where your armies are made up of little figures, think risk but you have to make your own army, and you paint them and then play... It can get a little expensive if you want to go all out and build specialised armies (which my husband convinced me to do!), I have an elf army and he has a chaos warriors army, but really all you need is the Warhammer Battle for Skull pass, we went WAY over board in building whole armies... The battle for Skull pass is the beginner starter set, and includes dwarf army and a goblin army, the rule book, and everything you need. You still need to paint them, but I think that is half the fun!!! I thinkk you can find it on Amazon for $50, maybe make it a x-mas present for him?
soon2be3 (803.7 days ago) Oh and maybe work on putting a picture album together online. You both could select photos you like and make one of those picture books. Print two copies and have something to look over while he is gone.
soon2be3 (803.8 days ago) Since it`s the holiday season, I would put babes in his carseat and take a drive to look at holiday lights. Baby will fall asleep and you guys can sip on hot chocolate, listen to Christmas music and take in the sights. Do you both have your own computers? I think it would be fun to live chat with each other sitting on seperate ends of the couch. You could write the things that you may be to shy to say, but writing would make it easier. Could get super steamy too!
ADDISYNS~MUM (803.9 days ago) my husband and i play yahtzee ALL the time... if you want a long game of yahtzee we play `mega` card... were you play the whole card at once... and sometimes if your in the mood to do the BD then you could always play strip yahtzee. :) each time someone gets a yahtzee you have to take a piece of clothing off... just some thoughts! scrabble sorry monopoly also... we love board games... they never get old...
lovemyfamily (803.9 days ago) We play skip bo! Lol and sometimes go to bed early when we`re both not tired just so we can lay there and talk and cuddle. Card games are great.
wedward **PINK** (804.1 days ago) My husband and I do crossword puzzles together sometimes. Sounds kind of lame, but it is really fun.
shesAWKWARD (804.1 days ago) we played UNO!! lol we LOVE that game! lol i liked it cause it gives you time to mae conversation even if its just about the game. Or we would do cooking experiments. we also had the Wii and that is GREAT FUN together. do anything that gets you guys laughing and NOT talking about work or deployment just make it about you and him and the now :) thats the only way my husband and i made it.. we lost a child right before he left but we made the most of what we had and still found a reason to laugh and be together. and i think those are some of my favorite memorys cause for that time we werent sad nor grieving. just rememberin why we were together in the first place, we make each other laugh :)
armymom (804.2 days ago) thank you for the suggestions so far.. they are all really great... I like the massage idea. lol.. military~mommy, what is warhammer and where could I find them? Sounds exactly something he would be into! lol.. I`m trying to get fresh ideas because normally we do just snuggle and watch movies but always results in a sleepy soldier beside me.. I didn`t think spending time with my husband would be so challenging but I guess you forget how to date and be together after so many deployments and having a baby.. sad. Thanks again ladies.. you`ve given me lots of inspiration so far!
military~mommy (804.2 days ago) Oh, and I have made him help me refinish furniture before, also turned into alot of fun. Just working together on something and being together talking and joking...
alugo (804.2 days ago) When my husband and I are preparing for deployment I just take advantage of the time that he has off from training (which im sure you do too). We watch a lot of movies and cuddle. I would say the board games are a great idea but in the end it wont matter as long as you are spending time together :)
military~mommy (804.2 days ago) Board games, a project you could both work on, like maybe do a puzzle? Lol, I made my husband teach me how to play warhammer (he played in high school but not since) and we would sit around and help each other paint our warriors and he would explain the rules and it was alot of fun, if geeky. We have never even played with anyone else, we just like to paint them and play each other!
domsmom2009 (804.2 days ago) I`d go for the boardgames! they`re always fun :D
jeff (804.2 days ago) read allowed to each other..
