yorkc39 (802.2 days ago) i think it really depends on the situation. My LO just turned 1 so it wasn`t much but for parties we always have snacks, cake and ice cream. We had a small meal for people that came because they came from so far away that we knew it`d be polite to give them something to eat. I know when I was older also at my birthday parties like 6,7 we`d have pizza and such
BabyBsmomma (Joni) (802.4 days ago) i have only done this once as my daughter celebrated her first birthday this summer, so we grilled out, hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, pasta salad, fruit, chips and cake. We will probably always do that since both children will have summer birthdays, easy and cheap and i feel better feeding everyone a meal:)
thumper (802.5 days ago) its my sons second birthday and we are gonna have sandwiches, crudites and dips, cheese, crisps etc and just a cake for afters, very health concious here and my son is rarely allowed any form of refind sugar so the cake will be his treat, oooo also for the grown ups we will be serving mulled wine
mdbabyno1 (802.5 days ago) For my daughters 1st birthday we had a luau at our lagoon. We had a full lunch(kaluah pig, bbq chicken, a pinapple beef, fruit salad, salad, pasta salad, and veggies and dips etc) and cupcakes.
nutnut (802.5 days ago) we have cake, icecream, chips, the works but also since my daughters bday is in july we typically have a big pool party at my aunts complete with bbq. so everyone gets fed good at her bday. when we were growing up though, we just had the cake and icecream chips, etc. but my parents go all out on my daughter as shes the only grandkid atm.. until jan anyway lol! last year we didnt have a party for her, bc of some family issues we couldnt have it at my aunts. next year im sure well resume to having her party there or whatever. =)
