RobinG (771.8 days ago) If he is teething it will cause ear pain, sadly teething mimics ear infections and causes pain in the ears so motrin or tylenol is best when sleeping, pillow too for better elevation. Also be sure he is eating enough before bed as he may be having a growth spurt too, esp if he is teething, he may be hungry and not able to sleep becuase of it ((hugs))
jaychay (772.1 days ago) my son does this with his teeth. he doesnt usually wake up but some nights he has woke up after tossing and turning then he wants a cuddle and coes back to sleep
annan617 (772.3 days ago) Could be an ear infection or teething. If he is pulling at his ears it could also be overtiredness. you could try putting hiM down for sleep earlier. How are his naps during the day?
Stay@HomeZOOKeepa (772.4 days ago) My son had tubes put in at about 11 months. The only way I knew he had ear infections was when he would fuss to lay down...the pressure builds up more and hurts worse. Does he take a bottle laying down? If not, that is a sign of an ear infection too. Tugging at ears could be both ear and infection or teething. No way of really telling though without a doc. Tylenol will help both. Good Luck!
Holly28 (772.4 days ago) Sounds like it could be an ear infection. My daughter gets them frequently unfortunately(6 in only 16months so far) and sleep disturbances just like what you are describing are usually my first clue. I would take him to the Dr to be sure. If its not an infection it is most likely teething but better to be safe than sorry. Ear infections can be nasty. I had one last month myself that actually was so sever it caused my ear drum to burst and I have hearing loss.
jeniwalker (772.4 days ago) i recommend some tyenol and ibprophin to help with the pain. you can do both at the same time, the drugs dont cause any interactions. the tylenol should help with any pain, and ibprophen is good for swelling that might be present causing pain.
jeniwalker (772.4 days ago) could be ear infection, but also might be teething. my kids seem to pull on their ears a lot when they have teeth coming in. the DR told me that they cant really tell the difference between the jaw and ear, so that whole general region feels sore.
