munchkinsmommie (768.4 days ago) I stack up my chairs when not in use. My DD starting climbing in the chairs onto to the table around 13 months or so. Until I get her to understand better not to do that, it saves me from having a heartattack every second.
wendyo630 (768.7 days ago) When mine did that I took the chairs away..... while they where awake and up. I would lay the chairs on the side and stick them under the table. keep them busy with other projects and soon the tables and chairs are the last thing they think about.
Lou-Li-Ro (768.7 days ago) Same here. My 20-month-old twins do it constantly, and hurt themselves when they fall too. But they STILL Want to be on there. My advice is just keep EVERYthing interesting OFF the table. We used to have a LOT of clutter on our kitchen table but now I keep it clear because it draws them to it like moths to a flame! They just want to be up there because it`s not allowed I think! Now I just let them stand/sit on the chairs and play with their cars and trucks on it. But as soon as they actually climb ON to the table, I take them off and tell them it`s not allowed. Lots of repetition happens at my house all day long! I`m actually going a little crazy I think.... My dad dropped over earlier and after being here for 5 mins watching how many times in that few mins I had to stop Louis hitting Liadan and Liadan climbing on the table and Louis pulling Liadan`s hair etc, he said `God, how do you stay sane trying to control the two of them all day?` I just said, `I don`t stay sane!!!!`
JMendez (768.7 days ago) You`re going to think i`m cruel but maybe a dab of something unpleasant in his mouth like pure lemon juice or something bitter/hot/sour (not soap though!)? Then if you catch him doing it just saying like `do you want the lemon juice/etc` and he might stop.
natalie75 (768.7 days ago) same here. I have no idea what you could do, Maybe cate off your kitchen if you able to. one of my friends tied her chairs to her table. Mine out grew if. but now he puches chairs to the counter and climbs those.
