I used terry nappies and folded them myself. They grew with her then and I just bought outer waterproof covers in different sizes. If you are going to use colth nappies, you can get liners to put in them, so it makes it easier to change when they poo!

I use organic cotton prefolds with little covers called angelluvz which you can get from http://angelluvz.com. They come in sizes xs, s, m, l, xl, and in different colors. So far they have not leaked at all when huggies, pampers, and luvs have all leaked. I also use imse vimse flushable liners so that I don`t have to clean poo off the diapers. You put one in each diaper and if it is only a pee diaper you wash it along with the diapers and if it`s a poo diaper you simply flush the liner with the poo. I got 200 liners for something like $15 on Amazon and I don`t forsee needing to buy any more until the next kid comes along.

I use bum genius and my son is now 2 years old and yes, the velcro does wear out even if you attach the tabs on the side like they say to... thats the only downfall IMO... the good thing about the velcro is you have more freedom on how tight or lose to make the diaper... thats why i bought those ones instead of the fuzzi bunz...i was worried the snaps would be restricting... Go to Diapers.com i bought mine there and they shipped super fast... I didnt have alot of stores in my area that sold the diapers and the ones that did only had a few ... i bought 12 diapers..plus the diaper sprayer that attaches to the toilet..I HIGHLY RECOOMEND THIS!!!! makes cleaning up poops so much easier... and it was easy to install... i wash mine every other day... and i use disposable ones when we go out of town or on long trips...
