My daughter was 14 months old when I was having my second. The night I gave birth she was at my parents house sleeping and my step-father watched her while my mom was at the hospital with us. Then my hubby took off a couple days and took care of Mackenzie while I was in the hospital. He would bring her up to visit then go home for naps

Near by friends, family if you have them near, or family willing to come visit for the occasion.

My oldest was 4.5 when my 2nd was born. My inlaws came to the house and stayed with him during the day time and brought him to see me and the baby. My DH was home at night for sleeping so it was only daytime that was a concern :)

Our neighbors took our 2yr old the first night and then my parents took him the 2nd night.

My parents flew in for the birth. They watched her at the hospital while I was in labor. Luckily I have fast labors so they didn`t have to entertain much :) They kept her that night then I was released 24hrs later.

My baby girl was only 12 months when Gabi was born. My Dad (her Papa) came and stayed with her at our house. He watches her there every day while I work so he`s the one she`s the most comfortable with. Every evening my hubby would go home for a couple hours and have dinner with her and do her bath and bedtime so that things felt more normal for her. Oh, and my Dad did bring her up to the hospital to visit at least once a day.

I have to do that this time around....I`m scared because my little guy is a mama`s boy and I know he`s going to have issues with mama being in the hospital and not home with him. My hubby is going to be home with him and then come and visit me. While I`m in labor I`m going to have to have either my hubbys dad, my sister in law or my dad watch Ryan. My mother and my mother in law will be in the room with me.

My son was 20 months. I had him stay with my mother. We originally thought i would be in the hospital for 1-2 days But i was asked to stay for 5 days due to complications. He came to visit though.
