emy (758.6 days ago) I went in the evening before for a treatment of Cervadil to soften my cervix...They started the pitocin the next mnorning at 9am and I had my son at 930 pm. I did have an epidural but my labor was very easy! hardly felt a contraction and pushed for 5 minutes...
SAHM-with-children (758.6 days ago) being induced is a great thing because right before the pain gets way to bad I ask for my epidural and boom I get it and then things go so smoothly for me, I am not as scared, and pretty much feel that I have things under my control..lol...I love being pregnant but chicken to the pain...but oh well thats not gonna stop me epi or no epi I love having children it`s god`s blessing to me. but it`s a lot better than going without notice because I can tell you one short one and that was when I woke up not knowing I was contracting all night long and when I went potty i was bleeding bad and went to the hospital and here I was 6 1/2 cm`s and within 15 mins. I was delivered...not talk about fast and no time to even think about what was going on let along wake up..lol
onesharpefamily (758.6 days ago) With my first, I didn`t even know I was in labor until my water broke. My daughter was born exactly 2hrs 20mins after it broke, or 1hr 20 mins after we got to the hospital. It was extremely fast and I had no time for any meds or anything. This time around, the OB wanted to induce because he didn`t want me to have the baby on the way to the hospital or something. I got there got all hooked up to the pitocin and the doc broke my water. 4 hrs later my son was born. I had to get an epi this time because I was getting a tubal after giving birth. I labored for 2 hrs before getting the epi. It wasn`t bad, it did hurt but no worse than the first time. Although, having it both ways...I don`t know why everyone is so against epidurals. I LOVED it. I didn`t tear or rip, and once I wasn`t numb anymore and it wore off I wasn`t even sore down there. In fact, this time around I bounced back quick. I felt 100% by day 3. The worst thing that hurt was the incision site for the tubal :) Good luck. If you want to go natural, go natural. But if you have to get an epidural because it hurts...don`t feel like any less of a woman. God invented childbirth but he also invented medication :)
love.nora (758.7 days ago) I really do not want an epidural!!! My doc is insisting on the induction tho this Sat. So basically if I get induced I am gonna be forced to get drugs cause its gonna suck that bad? My water broke with my first one and I went into hard labor within 2-3 hours and it was no joke either.
hannahe (758.7 days ago) i was induced and i thought it was great and no more painful that the other 2. the first time they gave me pitocin and gave me an epidural so i didnt feel any pain, with my second i had nothing, not even an epidural, it hurt. my third they just broke my water to start contractions and it hurt til i got the epidural. long story short, get an epidural and you should be good to go
Lookalike (758.7 days ago) Pitocin is the most horrible painful thing!
california-mom (758.8 days ago) I would suggest not getting induced if you want to go natural. Being induced with cervidil was ok but pitocin made it so difficult to stay natural.

Heather12 (758.8 days ago) I have been induced twice and went into labor on my own once. Had all my babies all natural. For me they all hurt the same. The only difference for me is when im induced the contractions start hard and strong but when i went into labor it was a slow graduale thing. Good luck and it will be fine.
KristinaA (758.8 days ago) I was so nervous and upset about being induced, but I was fine. I went in the night before and they did a quick check to see if I was dialated/effaced. Then they did the cervidil which is basically inserting a medicated `shoe string` in. You`re hooked up to the monitors the whole time. Then, the next morning, they did another quick check under the hood, and hooked up the pitocin drip. they upped the pitocin until contractions were regular. Broke my water with a little sewing hook type thing. Got my epidural, and the rest was painless. :) Baby did end up being sucked out w/ a vaccuum, but both of us were fine in the end and he is such a strong baby, right from the start. no ill affects. And we breastfed as soon as we got to the post-partum room.
Julestar (758.8 days ago) Oh, good luck! I am hoping to be induced again. :)
Julestar (758.8 days ago) I was induced. I would say don`t do it if you do not plan on getting an epidural. Once the labor hits and meds kick it.... You will need it. I tried getting something to take the `edge off` yeah... didn`t work. My mom really pressed me to experience childbirth naturally the first time, and I tried... but If I am induced this time... I am getting it the moment the pain comes. Don`t wait til the last min.
love.nora (758.8 days ago) I am being induced this Sat at 7am at almost 40 weeks. I wasn`t induced with my first so this is all new to me. I am a bit scared to say the least even tho I have herd it doesnt hurt :S
