domsmom2009 (757.3 days ago) Why do friends ALWAYS butt in to everything!?!? I have a few that do that as well... just ignore her
carolinababy1 (757.5 days ago) My 16 month old sleeps til about 12pm and this afternoon, I heard him counting in his crib. It was so cute. Most mornings when he wakes up he plays for a little bit. Or sit and look around. On those rare mornings though, he wakes up fussing for someone to get him. I don`t know if its because he`s been waiting too long or if he hears me moving around and wants my immediate attention.
Holly28 (757.5 days ago) My friend thinks its terrible because I am `neglecting` her by not changing her or feeding her right away when she stays in her bed to play. Honestly, I don`t think that letting her play in her crib is a bad thing. She happily spends her time singing/talking to herself and playing with the few toys I have in her crib for her. She calls me when she is ready to get up. To be honest, I am much more able to deal with her in the mornings as well if I am able to wake slowly. I was just curious about how common this was.
marli (757.6 days ago) Both my boys chatter happily for about an hour in the mornings. Which is great for me! I`m 16 almost 17 weeks pregnant and cherish my sleep right now =) They are 2 and 9 months.
debsandgrace (757.6 days ago) DD is 16mths and has never chattedto herself or played in her cot, i wish! When she gets upshe will shout mam mam till i go get her so i always go staight in to her then we get into my bed for a cuddle!
domsmom2009 (757.7 days ago) As long as your child is not crying I don`t see what the big deal is... my son does that every morning for about an hour. Doesn`t really play but he talks to himself and sucks his feet lol he`s only 6 months old though
KR (757.7 days ago) it depends on their mood. Sometimes they wake up and talk to each other for a while and i lay there listening to them threw the wall lol. Other days they have wet the bed or are crabby because the woke up too early.
RobinG (757.7 days ago) Always :) Hunters crib has an attached changing table that he has outgrown and each night when we check on him after he is asleep we change the toys, add books trains etc etc on it and a few by his feet. When he wakes he is so happy to find new toys. It gives us an added 30 mins or more to rest before having to get up :) Love it!! I highly recommend it to everyone :) It also helps kids when older, when prek kids wake they learn to hang and play a bit before coming in and waking you up, esp when they rise earlier then usual. Your friend is wrong IMO ~ cant see what she feels is so wrong, children need to learn to play independently. I dont just put him in crib and leave him for hours to play alone. I dont ever just place him in there to play. This is for his morning and wake from nap time only. Ignore your friend ~ ((hugs)) Hunter loves reading his books and playing in his crib each morning and I love listening to him talk about what he is doing over the monitor ~ hes so cute :)
mdbabyno1 (757.7 days ago) Holly- I don`t think there is anything wrong with it! I wish my DD would do this but she literally opens her eyes and stands straight up ready to start the day. A friend of mine suggested I put her baby doll which she loves in there but I`m not sure I want to put toys in her bed.
Holly28 (757.7 days ago) Gabby happily plays for an half hour to an hour every morning before I get her up. My friend thinks that this is terrible. I personally feel it gives her time to learn to occupy herself as well as gives me some time to actually wake up before I have to function.
