Danetteplustwo (741.6 days ago) It`s called a tantrum :O). They have them at this age and it`s perfectly normal. Next time if he doesn`t want to get in the water perhaps try sitting on the side of the pool and the two of you watch the other kids having fun in the water? But I`ve certainly had my fair share of Sophie screaming on the floor of the library, store, park while I stand next to her ignoring it. You`ll get evil looks, pity looks and (my favorite) people telling your child how mean mommy is for not giving them what they want. Ignore the evil looks...they`re just being grateful it isn`t their child doing a banshee impression.
sweetbabyboy (741.8 days ago) My son had a huge tantrum in toy`s`us once lol, we had to walk past a play area to get in the store and he wanted to go in there and play, I said no we will go in the store and play after, so he starts screaming, kicking, crying, everyone was looking lol, so we went in toys`r`us and he was still going on, so the only thing I could do was sit him in the corner and let him hacve his tantrum, he threw himself on the ground kicking the floor I just kinda waked off and left him there and was watching him but he couldn`t see me, the looks I got HOLY!!! anyways after about 5 mins I went up to him and said are you ready to calm down now?? and he was we hugged then he was fine :) we all go through this, he still does it now lol, oh and after we left the store we did go and play :)
rosye13 (741.8 days ago) Your story made me laugh, because I have so been there. I`ve found that sometimes when Gracie is upset about something else (tired, uncomfortable, hungry, sick, etc) she tends to act ridiculously and spaz about things that shouldn`t be a big deal. I think she kind of projects her stress and anger onto something else because she just doesn`t know quite how to express herself. Don`t feel alone though! :) We`ve all been there.
jenakers (741.8 days ago) Thanks, Amber, I didn`t give in. We finished the lesson. I stayed calm so as to not show he was getting to me. Tried to get him to play after and when we left I didn`t make a big deal of it. Just got him dressed and in the car. I told him I was disappointed that he didn`t try to have fun and swim, that was it. I was hoping for more of a response from other moms but, maybe it`s just me and my kid. Maybe this is a bigger problem then I thought. Seeing the poll results..I`m at a loss. Hopefully he`ll be fine with it next week.
amberlea (741.8 days ago) lol, any mother with a todler had been there! I promise it only gets worst. Children throw fits and spaz out, its natural and they will grow out of it. I try not to give into my son when he throws a fit, I dont want him to think crying and acting crazy will get him his way- then he would do it just to get his way.
