not only are there going to be dyes and germs but most clothes contain formaldehyde as a color preserver so it`s really necessary, in my opinion, to wash clothes [any clothes, yours or baby`s] before you wear them. but for baby`s wash them in dreft or something gentle (:

YES!!!!I didnt find this out until my baby shower... they say new clothes contain dyes and also germs from people touching them.... I washed everything I got at my baby shower in Dreft detergent for babies! Hope this helps!!!!xoxoxoxo

Its kinda like buying a pair of jeans without washing them first...u tried it on for a fit and so have others before you.You cant really know the number of people who have touched it.To be germ safe,just do it and if you havent time,ask someone to help you.Its better safe than sorry,no??

Not sure, but I washed every article of clothing/blankets/sheets, etc that I bought for her brand new & used - even if it was brand new, I just love the smell of the baby detergent, and I kinda went on a bit of a nesting spree haha.

i wash onesies n things so theyll shrink n fit bettter n be softer. but i dont wash like the party dresses or things like that cause theylll lose shape

YES YES YES!!!! VERY important to wash! All the factory chemicals and who knows who touched the clothes!!! Do it for your baby! :)

I read that your suppose to do so but Im not sure what happens if you dont. I dont really care either way but my fiance is very anal about it, so Im sure hes gonna do it.

You don`t know where the clothes have been before you got it. Someone could have return the item and took it home. Sometimes the clothes end up on the dirt floor. I wash everything the clothes the blanket and sheets. I used baby detergent to wash everything.

I didn`t think it was a big deal, so I didn`t wash them, then my daughter was born and she started getting a rash from her clothes! I felt so horrible. Good thing my MIL was there to help with laundry b/c we had to rewash EVERYTHING.
