KR (723 days ago) if you have the serial number you can give it to police, they can then see if it has been taken in anywhere. Chances are it was kept though as cameras for 200$ dont tend to get much from a pawn shop i believe. Dont mention that you think someone you knew took it.. it will take much longer to get any help that way.
domsmom2009 (723.4 days ago) I had this happen to me (my SO`s friend stole mine) but I had no proof and by the time I noticed, it was too late to do anything. I had my CD player taken out of my car one night, filed a report and never heard anything again.
JMendez (723.5 days ago) Good luck getting the police to do anything. I had a lot of stuff stolen from me (xbox, dvd`s, camera, gameboy) and the police didn`t do crap!!! My brother who was living with me at the time also had his laptop, digital camera, and photo printer stolen. That`s quite a bit of stuff with high value and I couldn`t believe they didn`t do anything except write up a piddly ass report, and ask us for the receipts for our stuff. We also knew who did it, the guy`s girlfriend told us he stole our stuff and sold it to people for drug money. Even with her admitting to it, the cops still didn`t do anything. I honestly will never waste my time again with the police if something of mine gets stolen. I really hope you have better luck than I did, and hope you get your camera back.
jeff (723.5 days ago) you can file a police report without naming the guilty party...
