My only concern for painting nails is the paint that you use. A lot of paints contain really harmful chemicals...phthalates, formeldahyde and toluene - ingredients that have all been scientifically linked to health-related conditions in humans. I know that Aveda and OPI have polishes out there that don`t contain those chemicals. You might try those brands.

Ha! That`s funny! I guess if the kid isn`t sucking the paint off the nails, then it should be fine. I think people take conservativism too far in some cases. I`m conservative myself in that I go to church a lot, don`t believe in sex before marriage, and am submissive to my husband, but I think things like letting little girls have pierced ears and painted nails is fine. What really irks me, though, is when little girls (or their mommies) don`t keep up with it and let the painted nails get severely chipped and ugly. If you`re going to do it, do it right!

As long as she doesn`t `chew` it off, no problems there! :)

I started painting my daughters when she was about 6 months old. I thought as long as the toes don`t go in the mouth then it was fine. That is why I did toes and not hands.

First there was one from my 19 year old cousin with her and her friends (looking thrashed out, dirty, bits hanging out of places they shouldn`t and just overall skanky), and another from a friend of mine who is 15 years older on a rare night out with her school friends (who are all mums) who looked gorgeous, fresh, clean, sexy yet classy (let the clothes rather than the skin do the talking - ie you don`t need your ass and boobs hanging out to show off a nice little figure) Is it just me, or are young girls looking thrashier than women in their 20s, 30s and 40s?
  3. Do you or someone you know raise their now school aged child with attachment parenting (baby wearing, never ever allow the baby to cry it out, cosleeping, baby let snacks and feedings, etc) 8f so, how does the school aged child/ren compare to their peers?
