canadababy (712.5 days ago) Wow, I had no idea, great question! Looks like it`s possible to have it around the same time as a possible BFP (if it occurs up to 12 days after the egg is fertilized). I googled this and got this answer:

Implantation Bleeding and Spotting
What is Implantation?
When the egg is released from the ovary, it travels down the fallopian tube toward the uterus. If the egg meets up with a viable sperm during the trip and the egg is fertilized, it will attempt to implant in the lining of the uterus. Implantation happens on average about 9 days after ovulation/fertilization and is required for the fetus to continue to grow. If implantation is not successful, the egg will flush out of the body with the normal menstrual flow.
The lining of the uterus is rich in blood and nutrients. When the fertilized egg enters the uterus, the egg `sticks` the this lining, referred to as the endometrial lining. The endometrial lining is the same lining that sheds every month during the menstrual cycle if a fertilized egg does not implant. Implantation occurs between 6 to 12 days after the egg is fertilized.
Due to the blood rich nature of the endometrial lining, a few drops of blood could move through the cervix and down the vagina. This blood is referred to as implantation bleeding and is a common sign of pregnancy. The blood will not appear red, but rather a darker brown or black due to the time it takes to move from the uterus out of the body.
Implantation is the attachement of the fertilzed egg (called a blastocyst, a cluster of tiny cells, smaller than the head of a pin) when it has completed its travel through the fallopian tube and attaches to the lining of the uterus.
Implantation bleeding and spotting is vaginal discharge that usually contains small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about a third of all pregnant women experience this implantation bleeding. Some women report some bleeding or spotting around the time of implantation, the so called `implantation bleeding`.
heathert (712.5 days ago) Pregnancy tests work by detecting HCG in urine the hormone is secreted by the develpoing placenta after a fertalized egg has been implanted in the uterine lining. so yes implantation has to happen before you test positive on a test.
heathert (712.5 days ago) yes what T3PO said! The bleeding is from the embryo implanting. I only noticed it 1 time out of 4. Following ovulation the egg is capable of fertilization for 12-24 hours. Usually implantation occurs 5-6 days (maybe a few days longer in some ) after fertilization . the implantation bleeding lasts usually only 1 day and is very light and brownish in color. Then the embryo is in the uterus and continue to grow.
Stay@HomeZOOKeepa (712.7 days ago) I think everyone is different. I had FAINT FAINT positives after a couple days of spotting but then continued bleeding and got a BFP a week after it started.
hannahe (712.7 days ago) ya i suppose it does depend on when you test, i guess i was more concerned with weather you could have ib and not test positive
twomarchbebes (713.2 days ago) I had spotting before my test and for a week or two after. It can happen anytime, depends when you ovulated.
hannahe (713.2 days ago) cool, thats exactly what i thought...i have never bled with my other 3 pregnancies and i just saw a little blood and im not expecting my period so i was just wondering what it could be but i took a test and it was negative but i suppose it would be if the hcg isnt present yet...i still hope its nothing!!
T3POandR2D2 (713.2 days ago) Implantation bleeding will always happen BEFORE testing positive. The bleeding is from the embryo implanting into the lining of the uterus which has to happen before the hCG hormones can start producing. Any bleeding after a postive isn`t implantation bleeding. Also, many women never experience implantation bleeding.
