Baby-poll poll Just a follow up on the previous bikini poll, what are your thoughts on babies/toddlers wearing only a diaper at the beach/pool?
(Baby poll by EandTsmum, 709 days ago)

I think it looks soooo awful and tacky.... makes me think the family is poor and ghetto.

A swim diaper is fine but, I think it LOOKS better to have trunks or a suit on over it. I think it looks tacky when I see a child at the store in just a diaper, unless it is a newborn.

So long as it`s a swimming one, then I don`t care but a regular one is gross! Nobody wants to see a poo float past them! LOL! I wouldn`t plan to do it with the sunburn risk but sometimes you don`t plan to go swimming, you just do - I met some friends at the beach the other day for lunch and it was such a nice day, even though I didn`t plan on taking my son down to the water, I just had one of those impulsive moments where the experience outweighs the impracticalities of not having his swimmers so I let him go in the water in his clothes (it was 34 degrees celsius!) and changed him into just his nappy afterwards. I will remember that ad hoc, fun moment in years to come.

We spend all our time at the lake as we do water sports every weekend, my 2 year old is dressed in a little swimmer ( swimming nappies in aus), a full piece swim suit and then a wet suit over the top. But my daughter hates clothes and as soon as you turn your back, she is butt naked showing her girlie bits off for the world to see...a wet suit is way to hard to get off....lol, but not only does it stop her from stripping off, helps keep the sun away.

I`m just purely curious as to what people think. I live in far too harsh a climate to ever do this but I have no problem with it. and yeah I use a swim diaper too when my boys go swimming.

I use the swim daiper, but my LO wear a swim shirt with it.

I voted `it`s not OK`, because you don`t know who`s watching... I can`t even watch the Huggies advert without boiling with anger at the sick pervert who`s probably watching it... Anyways, my own personal opinion.

A swim diaper is fine, a regular disposable diaper is tacky and shouldn`t be allowed in the water.

  1. Is SaraKelly still on here? I know she was a mod but I didn`t see her post in the previous Who Is A Mod poll...
  2. ANGRY!!!! My jenakers account is missing my ENTIRE journal from my high risk pregnancy and my letthisonestick account for my 7 month old is completely gone along with my journal. I AM SICK OVER IT!
  3. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  4. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  5. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  6. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  7. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  8. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  9. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
  10. MODS ~ please help me in monitoring the photo pages and other pages. Horrific porn was posted in photos sections and they need to be deleted as soon as they are seen. I reported it to Laura also. TX!!
