mommyof2soon (706.7 days ago) My eyes are blue (both my parents had blue eyes) My hubbys are brown (his mom had brown, not sure about his father since hubby was adopted) and both my kids have my blue eyes.
Stay@HomeZOOKeepa (706.8 days ago) My son has blue and we both have dark hazel eyes.
ulala86 (706.9 days ago) My son has blue eyes. I have brown eyes and my hubby has hazel eyes. It`s all about the genes! Like two browned eyed parents can have a blue eyed baby! So anything is possible! :)
rosye13 (706.9 days ago) Okay, you have to go look at my baby. lol. Seriously though, both of my girls have crazy blue eyes like me and their Daddy`s are brown. My daughter was just in a little photo contest (she won!) and there`s a great picture of her eyes. Check it out, it will give you hope :) The link is, http://kimstahnkephotographyblog.blogspot.com/ and she is the 12th baby down (Gabrielle) with the huge blue eyes :)
Bek 30 (706.9 days ago) My mum has brown, my dad blue~~~ my sisters eyes are blue, mine alternate with the weather between blue or green. My hubby has greyish eyes, and so does my son, and my daughters eyes are blue
canadababy (706.9 days ago) Blue eyes are the recessive gene, no question. You may be confusing the term 'dominant' as I've also read it as 'dominant' is the expressed (displayed) gene but that's not the same. You need the blue eye gene (recessive) in both parents in order to have a possibility of a blue-eyed child. That doesn't mean either parent needs to have blue eyes though, that's how you know it's recessive..... Check that website from charliebaby
http://museum.thetech.org/ugenetics/eyeCalc/eyecalculator.html this is a great website, it calculates the genetic chances of eye colour based not only on the parents eye colour but grandparents...
LKDream (707.1 days ago) I have blue eyes and my hubby green eyes. My DS have very nice blue eyes.
military~mommy (707.1 days ago) I have brown eyes, my DH has green. Our daughter has blue eyes, though her left eye has one triangle of brown in it, odd huh? My left eye has one triangle of green in it in the same place! And the eye color calculator never works for me. Because both my parents have green eyes which aparently means I should not have brown eyes. The calculator does not take into account that my father`s eyes were brown until he was 20ish, his army records all state that he has brown eyes but in his early 20`s they randomly turned BRIGHT green (he claims all the drinking he did back then must have bleached out the color) so eye color is still an up-in-the-air thing, good luck!
bluejeans (707.1 days ago) My mother has blue eys my dad dark brown me and my sister have blue eyes, my brothers dad had brown eyes and he also has blue eyes.
Dezzi (707.1 days ago) All of my family (mum, dad, dad`s family, mum;s family) have brown eyes, so my genes are very dominant. Hubby has grey/blue eyes, his family I think is a mix. Since blue eyes are recessive, our babies are most likely to be all brown eyed ! My daughter has lovely brown eyes :)
Thank-you Kcity for explaining it better than me! Hubby has one blue gene from his dad, and I have none....anywhere....lol
hunnybunnysmama (707.2 days ago) I have hazel/green eyes and my husband has dark brown eyes and my daughters eyes are BRIGHT blue. Both her Grandmas have blue eyes.
KylaRaquel (707.2 days ago) Just to let you know, the way genetics with eyes work is this: In order for the baby to show blue eyes, they need two blue genes (one from the mother and one from the father). If the baby receives 1 blue gene and 1 brown gene, brown is dominant, so the baby would show brown eyes, but there is a chance that s/he could pass blue eyes onto their children, should they choose a mate who also is able to give a blue gene. So look on yours or your SO`s side (whoever has the brown genes). Does the mother or father have blue eyes? Or perhaps their mother or father? If so, then chances are they have a blue gene as well... If there are no blue genes in the family, then your baby will definitely show brown eyes (need 1 blue gene from each parent to show blue eyes). Hope that makes sense, I tried to explain it the best I could, lol.
Tara83 (707.2 days ago) My Dad had brown eyes and my Mom has blue and I ended up with blue ;o) My Mother in law has brown eyes and my father in law has blue and my Husband ended up with blue and one of his sisters has brown eyes and the other has green. Both of our children also have bright blue eyes ;o)
hotpotaaaaato (707.2 days ago) hubby has brown-hazel eyes, and I have green.... we have 1 bright blue eyed girl, and 1 green eyed girl. =)
jessberr31 (707.2 days ago) And now that I think about it his eyes looked dark when he was born, and they got lighter the older he got.
jessberr31 (707.2 days ago) Both parents have to donate a blue-eye gene for the baby to have blue eyes. My eyes are hazel/brown and my sons dad has brown eyes and our lo has gray/blue eyes. Somewhere in both of our families there were blue eyes and we just both ended up contirbuting a blue eye gene. I NEVER thought I would have a lo with gray/blue eyes! I just learned that about the genes when I had him. And his daddy is 99.99% his dad since child support automatically does dna tests here. I used to think his dad thought I cheated b/c of his eyes, lol, but I knew I never did so I didn`t care. And lots of people used to tell me his eyes would change. I asked the ped at every appt if his eyes would stay and he used to tell me that it was too early to tell. At his 12mo appt I asked as always and he laughed and told me that yeah, this was his eye color for good. I was happy! I love my little blue-eyed guy! :)
DeaS (707.3 days ago) if you have any blue eyes in the family your baby can get blue eyes regardless of what the parents eye colour is, its only when both parents have blue eyes your baby will only have blue eyes, dh and i both have blue eyes so that was the one thing i new 4 sure was what eye colour our two sons would have when pregnant
RJean (707.3 days ago) I have green/brown hazel eyes and my DH has blue eyes. My father has blue eyes, which gave me the recessive trait that I passed onto my DS. If the brown eyed partner has brown eyed parents, then the baby will probably have brown eyes...good luck. :)
Jerbear (707.3 days ago) Yes it is possible...I have a more hazel/brown, and his daddy has green eyes. He was born with blue eyes, and still has them at 17 months. Blue eyes do run in my family, as my dad (his grandpa) and my sister (his auntie) has blue eyes.
megandgrace (707.3 days ago) My ex had brown eyes and i have bright green, my daughter has bright blue eyes!
domsmom2009 (707.3 days ago) It can happen... but I don`t personaly know anyone.

sooexcitedtobemommy (707.4 days ago) I have blue eyes and dad has brown, almost BLACK! But on both sides of the family everyone has blue!! Except his mother and sister and his sister`s kids both have blue eyes! So I`m keeping my fingers crossed!! :)
danilynn (707.4 days ago) I heard most babies are born with blue eyes and that they`ll change as they get older.
canadababy (707.4 days ago) Do you mean you have brown eyes and your DH has blue eyes? Then your child has a good chance of having blue eyes.
If you mean both you and your DH have brown eyes than your child still has a chance of having blue eyes if there are blue eyes in either of your families.
amber325 (707.4 days ago) I have brown and DH has blue....Olivia has his beautiful blue eyes :)
marli (707.4 days ago) My husband and his ex-wife both have very dark brown eyes and they`re 6 year old has bright blue eyes. Y
