t555rm (706.5 days ago) My son gets crabby too if he doesn`t nap. When we went out of town for New Years we stayed in a hotel for 3 days. We did sightseeing and other stuff during the day but always got back to the hotel by 2-3pm for a nap. We co sleep so sleeping wasn`t an issue. An hour or 2 of rest and he was good to go for the rest of the day. It will be hard and not so fun for any of u if yr girl gets overtired so maybe u can try to fit in a nap sometime in between.

Bring along a pack n play, turn off the tv, close the drapes, bring a fan for white noise and lay down yourself. If I can`t sleep, I usually bring along a book and sit in the bathroom or hallway inside the room.

mdbabyno1 (706.6 days ago) I would try, you definitely don`t want her grumpy at wedding celebrations. My 20 month old in situations like this will lay on the bed with me and fall asleep. Just bring a book or something since it will be hard to do anything in the same room without disturbing her.
MummyLJ (706.7 days ago) We visit my family in the States about once a year, starting when my daughter was 4 months- it`s a 3 day drive, and then we stay for usually 2 weeks, so it`s always crucial to keep some sort of schedule, or there are massive meltdowns. Even though everything is new and different, the excitement of the day will really wear your LO out, so I`d for sure try for a nap. GL!
