Lou-Li-Ro (702.7 days ago) OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. My brother has it, and has had it for nearly a decade. It has ruined his adolescence. OCD does not mean `a little fussy about things`. It means a life-altering disorder, rendering the sufferer unable to be rational or logical, and to have obsessive thoughts which they are unable to stop and which can be traumatic and upsetting to say the least. It involves obsessive behaviour in which the sufferer is compelled to carry out particular routines or rituals or else they suffer from sheer anxiety and panic (i.e. compulsively washing until the skin becomes dry, flaky, sore, damaged from overwashing, but the sufferer continues the ritual because they `believe` they are dirty or contaminated). OCD varies infinitely from sufferer to sufferer and can be (depending on severity) an extremely debilitating mental illness. My poor brother is having another severe bout because he came off Prozac. he was on the highest dosage. He is now suffering from obsessive thoughts, and the compulsions hopefully will not revisit him. He will undergo cognitive therapy and is back on Prozac. I hope one day he will lead a normal life. But this is the way his brain is wired. It is a hereditary illness. I have never heard of the book you write of. What does it regard? EditDelete
