hotmessmomma (700.4 days ago) I had my mom hubby and grandma I LOVED IT esp since hubby had to sit down because blood makes him queezy
military~mommy (702.1 days ago) I had my husband and my friend. She had had 4 children, two natural 2 c-section. She was the best support for me (we live in the UK, our families are in the US so friends are like family here), rubbed my back and held me, gave DH breaks to run home and let the dogs out and when things went wonky she gave me the best advice (DH had no clue). I ended up with a c-section and in the end Michelle being in the room was the best decision I made. Once DH was in the OR with me though he stepped up, lol, labor and me in so much pain freaked him out, getting to see inside my stomach, that was just cool! He begged to take pictures of the surgery but I told him NO, he also described my placenta to me in vivid detail as it was taken out, then asked if he could take pictures of it, umm, NO!
charliebaby (702.2 days ago) I didn`t have anyone in there and I wouldn`t have it any other way. You can never predict how you will be in labour until you are - I planned on having my mum, I was induced and she was with me until they broke my water, my dad came in after my epi but then I had to have an emergency c-section and it was just me and the medical staff. I didn`t actually like having my parents there when they were there and was glad that when I got wheeled up to surgery they didn`t come becuase I would`ve been too concerned about them seeing me like that. If ever I were to have another baby I would want to do it the same, but I guess if I had a partner, he has a right to be there...
KR (702.3 days ago) I had my husband, mom, grandmother, and MIL. I knew after that that i would never have my MIL in again. I didnt want her there in the first place but first baby at a young age the pain was more of a concern and she was still there when i started to push. I couldnt have cared less at that point. The second time it was just my mother. I would have kept my SO, mom, and grandmother again but due to circumstances it didnt happen.
RobinG (702.4 days ago) You didnt include my choice, no I didnt have anyone other then my DH ~ we both didnt feel others should be there but us and the doc/nurses :)
phooey (702.4 days ago) A doula! Google it! Highly recommended!!!!
annas-momma (702.4 days ago) My mom was in the room, but won`t have her in the room again because she will be babysitting my daughter. But there is NO WAY I would have my MIL in the room.
KristinaA (702.4 days ago) I didn`t plan on having anyone other than my husband (and the Dr`s and nurses of course) in the room when I gave birth, but my labor progressed faster than we expected, and my husband was out eating lunch w/ a friend who works at the hospital when I had my epidural, and when things were tough, and my mom was just there for me so I didn`t want to throw her out when my husband got back. So hubby held my legs while I pushed, and my mom held my head, which really helped a lot considering I was pushing for 2 hours (labor went quick until the pushing).
canadababy (702.5 days ago) My mom was there along with my DH. She stayed near the door and didn`t see anything so it wasn`t uncomfortable at all :) It made her so happy to be there!
natalie75 (702.5 days ago) My first I had my mom with us, second I hired a Doula and with this one I am getting a Doula again. my SO is not very useful.
carolinababy1 (702.5 days ago) I let my MIL in but I want my next delivery to be more private; just my husband and I and of course the doctors
jessica-rn (702.5 days ago) I had a small party in the delivery room with my dd. Lol my mom, dad, stepmom, baby daddy, my sister and bff. it wasn`t weird at all lol I was so scared for the birth I was only 17, and everyone was very supportive. This time around it will probably just be me and my hubby tho...
amber325 (702.5 days ago) DH was there and my mom and grandma was there as well.
shesxchaotic (702.5 days ago) I had my mom and my husband in with me. It was amazing and I already told my mom that I want her to be there for the next time too. I saw my mom give birth to my little brother and I was NOT at the `safe end` haha. It was so cool though so I wanted her to be there and experience the same feelings and see her first grandchild`s birth.
MONKEYMAMMA (702.6 days ago) It was supposed to be hubby and my mom but I ended up with a c-section. If I could do it over again, I`d still want hubby and Mom with me.
Rubes (702.6 days ago) I had my Mum and hubby. God, was that lovely. :D I had one either side, and they took it in turns (one went to smoke, one stayed, etc), then, when it came to pushing... Bliss... Two people in headlocks, one either side of me... Also, two people meant that I had one person either side of the bed, to keep me on the bed when the pushing started... I fell off twice, I think, before the pushing began, so it was BRILLIANT being kept on the bed, with the two people I loved most in the world in a headlock... Literally... :D
BostonMom (702.6 days ago) Husband and I are thinking about having both of our moms in the delivery room, but I didn`t know if it would be too crowded (as this is my first!). Has anyone else had this experience? My mom`s a nurse, so that would be supremely comforting to have her there, and I feel as though his mom would be so hurt if I just had my mom - I do get along amazingly well with MIL!
sweetbabyboy (702.6 days ago) My mom was in the delivery room with SO an I both times and I`m so glad she was there!! she kept mu hubby calm and helped me through it, she really enjoyed being there too seeing her grandsons be born :)
luvin colton (702.6 days ago) i let my mom and best friend(who b4 labor i said i wasnt going to let in the room)and of course hubby who got to catch the baby. at first i thought it would be weird but my mom deserves to be in the room as long as they stay by my head. i did not care when the time came and was so happy to have female support even though i had a midwife. they fed me ice chips told me how great i was doing and to see them get as teary eyed and excited as me was awesome and unforgettable, since hubby will never openly show that much emotion it was nice to see that on their faces when his head was crowning encouraged me to push that much harder since i new just by their eyes he was so close! plus i got great pics and videos
