soon2be3 (701.3 days ago) I had one partial epidural...worked only on one side of my body. Another birth where the epidural would not take at all, so they gave up and gave me nothing! I don`t know why I didn`t think to ask for anything. My doctor figured that they had a least numbed me at the site, but I about jumped off the table when she started stitching me up. With my third, my epidural worked like a charm. I was laughing, relaxed, and yet totally focused. I had no complications. I was up walking within about a 1/2 hour - 1 hour. I didn`t get my epidural with my third until I had been contracting (on pitocin) every 2-3 minutes for nearly 13 hours. After I got my epidural, I was able to relax and progressed from barely 3 to 9 cm in 20 minutes!!! I had my son within 40 minutes of getting my epidural. If I could have taken the epi guy home in my pocket I would have. I professed loved! LOL! EditDelete
