KFinTX (699.3 days ago) I was told to go in at 6 months
lovelee (699.4 days ago) I asked my dentist the same question the other day when my 5 year old was having a check up and she said as soon as they can sit in a dentist chair happily and open their mouth without fuss. I then took my 2 year old for his check up. In Australia the age is from 12 months. Oh and like felicia marie, My son also had a root canal from a random genetically bad tooth. So the earlier the better!
mommyof2soon (699.5 days ago) My dentist also said 3 unless you see problems prior to that, or you want your child to get used to them. I took my son for the first time at 3 and he has perfect teeth with no cavities or problems! I won`t be scheduling my daughter until she`s 3 unless I see a problem.
bexnz (699.5 days ago) in nz they recomend going when they get their 1st teeth.so before a year old.
ibaheir2dathrone (699.5 days ago) I remember taking my oldest two in at 1 1/2, 2 years. (we lived in Kansas City then) 3 seems like such an old age. The lady said by 3 they can sit still in the chair. ????? Sarah is 15 months and will sit still if you tell her to.
Dannie (699.5 days ago) I asked my Dentist and they also go with age 3-
xdaniellexsx (699.5 days ago) where i live we are told to take them in as soon as teeth come in and we can get into trouble if we dont, my boy is 4 now and loves goin to the dentist :) and has perfect teeth :) hope it lasts xx
firstlittleangel (699.6 days ago) My little girl went in with us when she was 6 months old so that the dentist (A great family friend) could take a look at her gums and make sure all was well. he didn`t do any poking around or anything like that, but I think it`s best to let her know the process and that the dentist is nothing to be scared of.
MelissaJoanne (699.6 days ago) My daughter`s first dentist appointment was at 11 months (they did a free check-up for babies younger than 1 year old... she had 4 teeth at the time). Her next appointment is in 2 weeks, at 17 months old (and she has 10 teeth now).
christinarose (699.6 days ago) I took my daughter with me when she was 18 months for her first visit. It was what they called a happy visit, where they just look at her teeth, get her used to them looking in her mouth. They said it would be a good idea to bring her with me every 6 months when I get my cleanings done, so when she`s actually ready for her 1st real cleaning she will know what`s up at the dentist lol!
