It is not abortion - there is a zero chance of this developing into a viable pregnancy, yet a 100% chance that you risk internal bleeding if you do nothing. My friend`s was not caught early enough and she was rushed to the hospital to have one tube removed. This is very different than having a pregancy where they predict the baby will not survive after birth or that the mother faces complications. Ectopic pregnancies do not develop into a pregnancy because there is no baby in the uterus.

Its not an abortion because they baby cannot thrive and develop outside of the uterus.

Medically, it is an abortion, but so is a spontaneous miscarriage. The difference here is that it is not elective -- therefore it is, in my opinion, ethically `clear.` The termination would not be because of fear of birth defect or unwanted children -- it would be to save the life of the mother because the other option is death of both mother and child. There is no way to save the pregnancy.

It`s not an abortion. It is not a viable pregnancy, there is no way the baby would survive under any circumstances.

It`s not an abortion and you can`t do anything about it :( my friend had one and she begged the doctor to fix it but he said it was impossible.

It is not abortion in the same sense as an elective termination. I had an ectopic pregnancy, and I was watched closely to make sure the pregnancy was reabsorbed on its own (they often are). Mine did - had it not, I would have had two options: 1. A drug called methotrexate that would be needed to make the embryo stop developing or 2. laproscopic surgery to find and remove the developing embryo. There is no medical way to move an ectopic pregnancy to the uterus... I hated the idea of all options, I just wanted a healthy baby BUT in no way did I feel like I would be doing something wrong if I had to make the choice between the drug or surgical intervention.

definatly not an abortion because its not optional. a termination for medical reasons. A very sad situation, but also if ur tube ruptures then its harder to concieve again as well, stil possible tho. Terribly sad :(
