charliebaby (698.5 days ago) That would have to be the most ridiculous scare-mongering I have ever heard! Whoever told you that is seriously having you on! My parents cat scratched me on the belly when I was pregnant, I rang the pregnancy helpline and she said for anything to damage your baby, it would have to penetrate your stomach, your womb, the amniotic sac and then the baby... Your baby is perfectly protected in there so don`t stress. Your skin is more susceptible to sunburn when you`re pregnant. I got burnt quite badly when I was about 36 weeks, I was wearing sunscreen, protective clothing and was in the shade and still got burnt. I never burn like that normally...
amber325 (698.7 days ago) lol That made me giggle. You will not burn the baby lol.
Holly28 (698.7 days ago) That is impossible!!! How could your baby (whom is in your womb) get a sunburn also? He/she isn`t being exposed to the sun at all. Whoever told you that is an idiot.

EllaG (698.8 days ago) I don`t see how this is possible - the UV rays burn your epidermis. I`ve never heard of it being remotely possible for UV rays to penetrate all your layers of skin, fat, internal organs and amniotic fluid to burn a baby. Often you burn easier when it is a bit windy out, I think its due to the fact that you feel colder and don`t realise your actually sizzling. Do make sure to drink lots of water though, to prevent further dehydration. Also, be careful of whatever creams you may use to ease the discomfort of burning, you don`t know what chemicals might be in them - and these can be absorbed into your bloodstream through the skin. Probably better off getting 100% aloe from a health food store.
BostonMom (698.8 days ago) I don`t know if it`s true, but I just went on vacation and my FIL wanted me to wear a down jacket in the Caribbean - apparently he heard the same thing!! I very much doubt it`s true about baby, but both of my parents have had skin cancer, so I don`t take any chances whatsoever :) Hope you feel better soon!
T3POandR2D2 (698.8 days ago) Your baby is fine. Some of those old wives tales are so silly!
3girls2008 (698.9 days ago) you burn so much faster when you are pregnant due to the extra blood you have running through you! be very careful and wear sunscreen even if your only going to be out a short time it takes nothing to turn into a lobster when preggers!
shesxchaotic (698.9 days ago) I was maybe 5 months pregnant and the weather was just like you described. Breezy and sunny. I got burnt REALLY bad. I have never heard of the baby being burnt and I doubt that is even possible. Just put some aloe on and be sure to wear sunblock from now on :)
