charliebaby (695.9 days ago) If my son has a cold I use Baby Balsam (same as Vicks) on him and if he`s very blocked up I`ll use saline drops to help with the congestion. If he`s really miserable I`ll give him some baby panadol but I would never give cold medication, especially if it`s against dr`s orders, to a baby... If it`s something that is getting worse, then the dr may put her on antibiotics, especially if it`s on her chest, throat or ears, but my dr is very hesitant to prescribe anti-biotics because he wants him to build up his immune system naturally. ladykilla421 (696.4 days ago) Oh my!!! I am in utter shock that someone would have chosen the `disregard the Dr and give her cold medication` option....I seriously hope it was a mistake or a joke...eeesh EditDelete
LizzyB. (696.6 days ago) My daughter was four months when she got a pretty bad cold (two months ago), which led to a little pneumonia. It was a rough week. We had her sleep in her car seat to prop her up more and gave her Tylenol. When we took her to the doctor (because her breathing was so loud and raspy) he was able to use a machine to suction out the mucus (which we did twice during the week). They also had a machine where she could breath in some medicine; almost looked like a vaporizer). They also gave us an inhaler with the medicine to bring home in case she got bad with her breathing, and we used it once or twice and that helped. Maybe your doctor could do that for you? They told us to watch for really heavy breathing and if that happened, then to bring her to the ER, otherwise use Tylenol and wait for it to go away. EditDelete
