kim-baby (1030 days ago) I learned a lot from my Bradley Birthing classes. They support all natural births. The biggest thing I would say is to learn how to relax yourself, using meditation is a great one. If you are not comfortable then move listen to your body it is telling you what you need to do. Warm showers can really help as well. Have your man be there to help you move around and to hold onto you while you contract. He needs to be your coach so tell him now the things you want to hear, like this is all worth it you will be with the baby soon or you are doing great lets just get past another contraction. Take it one step at a time and dont over whelm yourself with how long you might be there. Also try not to labor on your back it can cut off the blood flow to you and your baby so try and squat as much as you can or even get on your hands and knees. Also rest in between contractions you will need as much energy as you can keep. Good luck!
YoungMomof3Boyz (1030.1 days ago) I too Had an Accidental natural labor with my 2nd...I tried to wait long as I could Before I went to the hospital so when I got there They would give me the epidural...well the contractions started coming back to back so we finally headed to the hospital, as soon as we stopped at the light in front of the hospital, my water broke...by the time they got done with the iv`s and getting me hooked up, i was 9 cm which was way too late for one, I freaked out bout 45 minutes later my son was here...it was a totally different experience from my first...but i dont think that i would do it again way too much pain (my son was 9 pds 7 oz)
EmmaReed84 (1030.3 days ago) 1st induction I had epi, 2nd I got induced and no epi....definately will go w/o epi again so much better I was up and walking about within the hour.
Allynne7 (Jaime) (1030.4 days ago) I don`t really know what I did. My hospital prefers a natuaral delivery so I went into it knowing I`d only get an epi as a last resort. I guess I really just went into it with the idea to go with the flow and try everything they had available to help cope. In the end all I can really say is that your mind will take over. It`s almost like your transported somewhere else. You know what`s happening but your working with your basser instincts so your focused on doing what needs to be done. I heard gravity helps to make the labour go faster so try to stand alot and when you can`t go into a knelling position. Best of luck and congrats.
ady,may,and1ontheway (1030.5 days ago) I did both of mine natural. I have their birth stories on my page if you`d like to read through them. They`re long, but pretty detailed with what I used and how it helped. I strongly recommend the book for hypnobirthing instead of other childbirth `classes`. I am using for sure again...doula (life saver), birthing ball, showers hitting underneath the tummy where the contractions are hitting, staying at home until you feel absoultely certain it`s time to go in, NOT squishing your face up...if your face muscles are the last to tighten in birth, if your face is tightened, so are the other muscles in your body and it`s going to hurt more. Try to relax, and most of all, be determined. Accept that it`s going to hurt, but if that`s the way you want it...it`s worth it! It really wasn`t as bad as people kept telling me, but maybe the hypnobirthing helped me more than I thought it did. Best of luck!
SuperHeroMom (1030.6 days ago) Thanks Ladies! I definitely plan to stay home as long as possible!
jeff (1030.6 days ago) Plan a home birth :) water birth is awesome. I would suggest that you do what you need to to get threw the contractions.. and save the more intense pain assistance for later as long as possible... ie in early labor I lay down and rested between contractions and walked during... then in the middle I sat on a birthing ball.... then once I was in active labor I finally got into the birthing pool....
hotpotaaaaato (1030.6 days ago) Oh, and don`t lay down... keep moving around
hotpotaaaaato (1030.6 days ago) labor as much as you can at home! If you are at the hospital and presented with the OPTION of epidural you may be more inclined to take it. I labored at home as long as I thought to be safe, then we headed to the hospital where we hung out on the grass just outside the ER until I felt `ready`.... and I was! 9cm when I checked in, 9cm when I wanted the epidural, but I was at the point of no return and did it. Read encouraging books of real women`s stories like: Ina May`s Guide to Natural Childbirth! Good luck!
maddoxandaverysmama (1030.7 days ago) I accidently labored naturally with my daughter... I was having contractions, but not paying attention to the time, I kept falling asleep in between, then at midnight I woke up with a bloody show, my contractions were 5min apart.. We barely got our son dropped off at a friends house and in the ER before I doctor broke my water and she was born... 30min after we pulled in the parking lot.. I was 35 weeks pregnant... she`s healthy now, but spent 12 days in the hospital after she was born...
My advice is to do ANYTHING that will help you ignore the pain, resolve to do it, and have confidence in yourself... I NEVER would have thought I could do it, but to be honest with you, recovery from her birth was SO much easier than my son, who was induced at 38 weeks... I had the same degree tear and everything, so its not that she was smaller and didn`t hurt me as bad... you`d be shocked what the endorphins and adrenaline of having a baby can do with the pain you`ll feel... you`ll actually forget it and feel better quicker... go ahead, think I`m crazy, but you`ll see... I`m not..
