Peytonsmummy`s poll Show results | Hide results

Pregnancy-poll poll Is it okay to have a throbbing headache while 21 weeks pregnant? I have had it for 2 days now, and it throbs even more right after I stand up from a laying or sitting position.

I had tylenol 3`s for it but ran out a few weeks ago, this one was pretty much the worst ever, seems to be gone, thanks to some water. I must have just been dehydrated.

Sounds like a migraine or tension headache. I had those alot when I was prego w/ my daughter. Doctor finally had to send me to a neurologist who gave me some stronger meds to take. I would definitely call your doctor on Monday. Good luck!

hormonal changes and increase in blood flow can cause headaches...however you may want to check your blood pressure..if it`s high it causes blinding head aches. High BP during pregnancy is very dangerous. However it is common to just get head aches for no real reason.....be sure to mention to your doctor.

Thanks! If it is still here tomorrow I am going to call my doctor but for now I am just going to take more tylenol and drink some water.

This was common in myfirst pregnancy with my son. I hear headaches are more common in boys due to the different hormones. Either way, i had a headache that lasted a constant 24 hours with him. I chose to take my doctors advice and go to the hospital for pain reliefe. If it hasnt given up yet and its been two days then you should go in and get looked at. The pain for you can also cause stress to baby. i was told its always best to make sure mum is relaxed so baby can also be relaxed. Im currently seeing my doctor recently due to headaches as well (i have one this moment) we did some tests the other day. When you lay down and stand up fast it can get worse due to sugar levels. Try drinking a tall glass of water, and watch your sugar intake. But most of all get checked! Good luck! I know they can be rough!
