carolinagirls`s poll Show results | Hide results

Pregnancy-poll poll Have you heard of Essure procedure? I just recently found out about this new procedure that`s done in the docs office. They put coils in your tubes (no cutting - they go through your vag) and it promotes scar tissure to grow around the coils and is a permanent birth control. Would you consider getting this done if you were looking for permanent BC?

No - I'm not looking for something permanent at all
No - I'd rather go with a procedure that's been done for years and years (like getting your tubes tied)
Yes - I'd definitely consider the option. Sounds good!
No - I'd rather the husband get a vasectomy bc it's reversal (just in case I change my mind)
No - I'd rather the husband get a vasectomy not so I can change my mind later but bc I am tired of altering my body :)

I decided to just get my tubes tied the day after I deliver since I`ll still be in the hospital anyway. They make the cut around your belly button, just a small 1` cut. If you do the Essure you have to wait until 6 weeks post partum and I don`t like the idea of having copper or whatever it is in me and then my body having to scar around it. I`d rather just get it taken care of right away and be ready to resume relations with my DH much sooner.

i was just reading something about it in a magazine. i am getting my tubes tied for the simple fact i have to have a c section anyways so i will just get it done then. sounds like a good idea, but i would really want some more information about it first

i know a few women in my town who have had that done and love it, i personally wouldn`t do it until it`s been on the market longer, and i`d rather dh get a vasectomy since it is reversible

My husband had a vasectomy in October. I told him, I grew, labored, delivered and breastfed 5 babies....I wasn`t doing anything for birth control. :)
