I was put on bedrest at 32 weeks for bp, then was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with pre e in my 35th week. they waited 3 days to induce...I 36weeks exactly when I delivered. I was put on magnesium sulfate before the induction started to prevent seizures and was on it for 24 hours after delivery. It made me feel miserable, like i had been hit by a truck. But all things considered, it all went well. My daughter was born healthy and had no problems what so ever. Also, my bp normalized very quickly and my liver issues went away quickly as well. How far a long is your sister?

My cousin had high BP so they induced her at 39 week... her son was perfectly healthy and she was fine as well :) he does have autism but it`s not because of the high BP....

my bp at 40 wks with my first was something like 150/80 which is high but the doctor wanted my to reread it 4 hrs later and it was 150/90 something so it went up by the time I got to the hospital it was 169/98 with 4 protein counts (there are only 5 I was told, so pretty much my body was giving up) I then found out the baby was breech and went the section. I found that the recovery and the reaction I got during the section were extreme but both myself and daughter ended up ok and my daughter didnt get affected by it. I hope it goes ok, my nurse said the best cure for it is birth.

I had pre-eclampsia. It was caught at 39 weeks with a 24-hour urine test and elevated bp during a non-stress test. I was induced that night, my blood pressure and urine were normal during delivery with no meds, and I gave birth to a healthy little girl. Best wishes for your sis. My sister had very high bp at the end of her pregnancy and the doctors couldn`t control it with meds. It was hard seeing her look so ill during induction, but she and her LO are now healthy.

yes the same thing happened to me at my 37 week appointment, bp was 157/117 or something rediculous. i was induced and when labour didnt happen naturally i was given a c section to get the baby out.she is practically due they should just take the baby out now, it really makes no sense to keep her on an iv and hope she doesnt have a seizure what is wrong with them?! All i can say is if they take the baby out right away she will most likely be fine, that is the protocol for these kind of things.

My sister went to her prenatal visit today (she`s due Saturday- Oct. 1st with her second baby) and was sent straight to triage for high blood pressure. She`s been having issues with it for 3-4 weeks and was admitted overnight once already. Anyways, I just got a call that they are inducing her right now because her blood pressure is 189/110 and even with fluids they can`t get it down. She has protein in her urine and her blood work came back that her liver isn`t functioning properly. They have to give her an IV in each arm to keep her from having seizures, and they are worried that the baby might not handle the medication well. Did anyone else experience this during pregnancy/delivery? Please tell me your experience. We are all scared to death because a close friend of the family died 5 years ago during childbirth due to the same thing, leaving behind a husband and 4 children.

  1. I`ve just opened up my facebook newsfeed this morning and there`s a whole bunch of photos of Saturday night antics. First there was one from my 19 year old cousin with her and her friends (looking thrashed out, dirty, bits hanging out of places they shouldn`t and just overall skanky), and another from a friend of mine who is 15 years older on a rare night out with her school friends (who are all mums) who looked gorgeous, fresh, clean, sexy yet classy (let the clothes rather than the skin do the talking - ie you don`t need your ass and boobs hanging out to show off a nice little figure) Is it just me, or are young girls looking thrashier than women in their 20s, 30s and 40s?
  2. Do you or someone you know raise their now school aged child with attachment parenting (baby wearing, never ever allow the baby to cry it out, cosleeping, baby let snacks and feedings, etc) 8f so, how does the school aged child/ren compare to their peers?
  3. You can only have three of the four when buying a house. Which do you sacrifice?
