Pregnancy-poll poll Precipitous labor; did you experience one with the birth of one of more of your children? From my understanding its fairly uncommon so Im curious to see how many of you ladies experienced this. My labor lasted under 2 hours, active labor lasting less than 30 minutes and pushing lasted all of a few minutes.

to be honest I didn`t find it any different from being in the hospital(I hated my hospital experience).I actually liked my `car birth` b/c the contractions didn`t hurt until about 20 mins before delivering my son and we JUST bought the car so it was brand new lol and I was in my driveway so the neighbors helped with bringing towels and taking my clothes. Next time though, I`m just going to have a home birth.

Wow, that sounds scary from what I`ve read. I hope all was well with the delivery of your LO. I`ve never heard of this before so I had to look it up. That sounds aweful and sucky! My DD`s birth was a fast one at just under 4 hours so I`m figuring this next one might be a bit quicker but now you`ve got me freaked out! Lol!

My first labor was 3 hours and my second was only 15min and two pushes! The doctor almost didn`t make it in the room for the birth!

I don`t think it`s always true that all labours follow the same route. My first was 4 hours 32 mins of active labour (a day of contractions, 5 weeks of slow labour), my second was 3 hours start to finish. Fair enough, I was induced on my second, but it`s very uncommon for it to be that quick, as the gel usually progresses you slowly, like `real` labour. My friend`s first labour was 18 hours (active), her second 5 hours from start to finish. I think some women are prone and some aren`t and that not all your labours will be as quick or as long as previous labours.

From my first contraction to the birth of my son was 3 1/2 hours and he was my first. If I am lucky enough to fall pregnant again then I hope that my labour would be every bit as quick.

My first ever labour was 15 hours and felt like it would never end. My second I was in ` slow labour` for almost 2 weeks before proper labour kicked in and it then lasted nearly 10 hours, my last one the pains started at around 11.45 pm and my son was born at 01.50, would have been sooner but when I first told the midwife I needed to push she told me I was only 6 cm when she checked me 15 mins earlier and it was prob just the pressure of my waters so she made me hang on which was horrible!! I stood up to get comfy my waters popped and I was screaming at her no serious I need to get him out nooooww!!! Lol hoping this next labour is every bit as quick!

My labor started at 8am, wasn`t regular, not so strong, I could do my daily routine but was uncomfortable... until 5pm... My water broke so we decided to go to the hospital and get checked, on the way there contractions were getting more intense and very close, we got there at around 6, (hospital was only 30 min away but I had to make sure I had everything just in case... When I got there the pain was pretty intense and all I wanted was pain relief, when they checked me, I was ready to push!! So I didn`t get to have an epidural and pushed for probably 30 min :)

Mine was 3 hours start of first contraction to birth. Started at 2 am, got to hospital at 4:30 (was almost complete with a small lip of cervix) then just waited it out until my body started pushing on its own. I think she was born in 3 contractions. Almost had her standing. No time for IV, antibiotics (was GBS+) or to even get into a gown. No tearing either. Would give birth like that 10 more times if given the choice! Much better then my 10hr labour first time around.
