Both my kids were back to back and only one was a difficult labour (the 3 hr long labour), but because of his size. My first was 4.32 minutes of active labour, my 2nd labour was 3 hrs start to finish. I never understood why people say how difficult it is birth a posterior baby. You`re a trooper squishy!

I planned to go as natural as possible with DD but at all times remembering that safety of baby and mum was most important. I ended up having a 38 hour posterior labour with 8 hours of sintocin (spelling?) and finally gave in at the 34 hour mark after no sleep and not being able to sit down and had an epi. The doctor told me after than I was amazing and a trooper and he was so proud but that with the complication in my pregnancy without the sintocin and the epi I`d have laboured for a week and then probably died. He said without the epi I`d have needed an emergency c-sect. The epi relaxed everything and my body did a better job then. This time the plan is the same... as natural as possible with baby and mum safety in mind.

With both kids, my plan was `go with the flow, with a focus on completely natural`.... My first labour, I needd gas and air alone. With my second, I had gas and air and pethidine. It was 3 hrs, start to finish, and the contracts were so bad from word go I couldn`t focus or anthing. The girls on my hospital ward had to time my contracts coz I was kinda delerious coz of the pain. My first was a breeze, though, and my second was 9 lb 6.5 oz. That could be why.

Natural again. But I am contemplating getting an epi. Most likely I wont but it`s still nice having the option!

I`m hoping to do natural, maybe with morphine or laughing gas! My first I had an epidural, and I loved it, but didn`t love that I didn`t know when to push.

You forgot to add c-section :) That`s what we`re going with this time around because of complications last time.

This is annoying lol, for some reason I had posted a 2nd reply.and it posted twice so I deleted one and both disappeared .... Anyway, I just had wrote that the laughing gas didn`t take the pain away really, it just took the edge off so I could relax...

I can`t have an epidural so it`s just what I can get through my IV. With my last I didn`t get anything after I hit 4cm so this time around I`m going to try not to get anything at all. I wish the gas was available here in the US but it`s only used in 2 states I think and I`m no where near them.

I want to go natural this time but I might ask for the gas if it gets a little too much for a while. It helped me lots last time, I went 24 hours out of my 28 hours labor before I got an epidural...
