julz (328.7 days ago) To get the percentage of weigth lost you would
Divide number of pounds lost by the starting weight.
ex: 10/200 = .05
Multiply that number by 100
.05 x 100 = 5.
Example: 10/200 x 100 = 5%
This is how we have calculated every weight loss challenge I have been in. I`m pretty sure that`s the only fair way to do it seeing that everyone`s bodies are different.
Good Luck, I hope you win!!!
CALI-MOMMY (329.4 days ago) muscle weights more than fat, and thats a lot of what i need to gain is muscle, i just dont have a great feeling about our weight differences and me winning lol, we will see !!
CALI-MOMMY (329.4 days ago) yes, i read on e-how about dividing it by 100, and it just didnt make sense!... i was like so whoever loses more wins but thats not fair!..i like the dividing it by our own weight, makes so much more sense
FarisMama (329.4 days ago) Are u goin against a time limit? If so then after however many weeks lets say u lost 5 lbs and he lost 15. You would take ur 5 lbs/127 which equals about 4%. His would be 15/195 which equals 7.6% so he lost more weight for his body mass. Otherwise if you were going by who got closer to their goal weight then let`s say u wanted to lose 10 lbs and he wanted to lose 20 and at the end of your weeks you lost 8 and he lost 15. 8/10=80% so u lost 80% of the weight u wanted. He lost 15/20=75% so you lost more compared to goal weights...does that make sense? You cannot go by actual weight it does have to b a percentage however u decide to do it :) good luck!
