See I hate when people type a lot wrong and use the word too, or to wrong...things like that. It`s a huge pet peeve of mine, but I keep it to myself, I would never start an arguement or point it out to that person who did it, I spell wrong and do alot of stuff incorrectly online, but if i`m writing on paper that`s a completely different story, guess I just dont care about being sloppy when I type online lol so I imagine other ppl are like that too.

I notice when people misuse: a lot, per se, and etc.. But, I have seen much worse then that so I`d never say anything about it.

MichelleMc(pink!) (327.5 days ago)
I wouldn`t start an argument about it, but I will admit that drives me nuts!

Based on one spelling error.

She called me a moron, illiterate

How was the `argument` an argument? If the person simply corrected you that`s simply a correction. If someone always writes `your in trouble` for instance I might just correct them with a little `no, you`re in trouble`..I don`t intend that to be an argument

No I wouldn`t correct them on their grammar or spelling. I do have a tendency to write alot rather than a lot myself and I know its wrong, I`m working on it though lol. I am not illiterate, and if someone were to cause an argument with me because of me writing alot they better be sure I I don`t pick up on any of their grammar or spelling mistakes in the future because I`d be on their ass for every mistake.

I knew someone who used to write like they were 5 years old, even the letter sizes. She blamed dislexia, but I`ve known many dislexics who write perfectly just spell wrong on occassion. It used to annoy me.

Makes me cringe when someone write like they are illiterate and it just looks terrible! A few words shortened, slangs, odd mistakes, things like that don`t bother me but when it looks like they didn`t finish grade 1 it just annoys me!!!!

That typing error is coz of the vodka. lol.

Jeeze. Now everyone thinks I genuinely appologized and I`m a laughing stock for appologizing and shes so great apparetntly for making people feel stupid. I was being sarcastic. Jeeze.

When i see someone spell a lot wrong, it drives me nuts, but not to the point to where i would say anything to someone. Unless it was my kids and it was written for homework i would correct them... but sometimes we all type/write something for the pure sake that its quicker, regardless of spelling... so who am i to judge?

rubes (328.5 days ago)
I couldn`t be bothered to argue coz I get enough of that in real life lol so I just gave a sarcastic appology for being illiterate lol she`s OK usually. See, I KNOW when I spell things incorrectly too but I don`t type grammatically in general on line and sometimes don`t spell properly either, but if I were doing a college paper or something I always write perfectly.

Oh Wow!!! Big deal! I personally use my auto txt when I type ( on my phone) but I have words programmed like `I dunno` and stuff like that, I KNOW its not spelled right but its quick and doesn`t mean I`m not smart, I went to college, (nothing like you but still!) I do know how to spell! Just habits... Big deal! Some pple are just ignorant, I would ignore her if I were you ;) who cares what she thinks!

A women online just had a right go at me for doing such. I came up with some witty responses but God, it upset me, and I know it shouldn`t do, but I am a major in English lit and History and am a very smart, inteligent person. I just got in the bad habit of putting `allot` instead of `a lot`.

  1. Is it normal for toddlers to leave off 1/2 of words?
  2. Silly poll, just checking the odds.. for parents of 3+kids, did you have:
  3. Career conundrum... Opinions valued (particularly from teachers - but I would value advice from anyone). Details inside.
  4. At what age do you think it`s appropriate to drop your child off at a sporting training (not a school sport, a sports club such as soccer, footy, tennis, netball club etc), and come at the end to pick them up?
  5. If you saw a car up your next-door neighbour`s drive (evening), would you make a social visit (and didn`t know them very well)?

  6. So this is what the Tooth Fairy would be like if the roles were reversed haha!
  7. Bookworms - is anyone reading the new Khaled Hosseini book `And the Mountains Echoed`? I pre-ordered it on kindle which should have arrived today (I haven`t checked yet) but was wondering if anyone would be interested in a group read?
  8. HELP - my 3 year old daughter is developing a phobia to fluff! I feel responsible, I have a ridiculous phobia of bees and wasps - to the point it hinders my ability to enjoy playing out in the garden during the summer, it`s detrimental. My kids have picked up on this and are sh*t scared of bees and wasps, but with my daughter it was soon spiders, then ants and now, tiny black bits of fluff - which she finds all over; on her pillow etc. It`s genuine terror in her face as she screams she can see them moving and they`re `going to get her` or `bite her`. What do I do? She`s old enough to be reasoned with that they don`t move and we pick most of them off before bedtime, but she wakes in the night and starts crying that `The Fluff`s coming...!!` How can I help her? Do you think this is just a phase or do you think it`s worth seeking some sort of external, professional help to nip this in the bud? I HATE the thought of passing on my phobias and anxieties to my children - it`s no way to live to be a constant worrier about things beyond your control and I;ve suffered with anxiety and panick attacks for nearing 6 years now and can`t ever remember just feeling `normal` and `well` - I can`t remember my life before my first panick attack. This is NOT what I want for my children...
  9. On Facebook I saw one of those like pictures, a mom who sent her child to school for days wearing out of style `ugly` clothes because she was bullying another girl about her clothes. Mom`s yourselves, what do you think of this type of punishment?
  10. Can anyone relate? My 4 year old is making all sorts of amazing connections which is great that he`s thinking about the world, but some of his thoughts are quite deep. He`s a natural born worrier (gets that from me!) and I try to protect him from as much as I can but there`s things that can`t be avoided. Ie, ever since Easter, he`s been plagued with fear about getting holes in him like Jesus (he learnt it at Kindy). Well just this evening he came out with `Why do you and Margo (Grandma) have holes in your ears like Jesus? Did you get your ears nailed to a cross?` He`s also obsessed with the fear of death.
