At this point of your pregnancy, the crown-to-rump length of your developing baby is 1.25 to 1.68 inches. It is now easier to tell how much the baby weighs since he is beginning to put on some weight. Your baby weighs approximately 5 grams and is the size of a small plum! The baby has grown an incredible amount during these past few weeks, but you still aren't showing too much yet.

This week is somewhat of a landmark for your developing baby. By now, your baby's complete body plan is laid down. Your baby will continue to develop and grow for the remainder of the pregnancy. The fingers and toes have separated and the tail has disappeared now. Your baby has taste and tooth buds at this point, which will continue to develop. The brain will continue to grow at an amazing rate and nearly a quarter of a million new neurons are produced every minute! The embryonic heart is completely developed. External genitalia are not apparent until next week, but a male's testes will already be producing testosterone.

Because you have high hormone levels at this time, you may notice an abundance of emotional and physical effects. Most pregnant women find themselves getting distressed easily and have frequent mood swings. Common physical changes include the beginning of real weight gain, potential softening of the gums and slightly swollen thyroid glands. Common emotional changes include feelings of unattractiveness, feelings of inadequacy and concerns about what the future holds. Some women are not excited about their pregnancy at first and question the condition. It is not uncommon to get upset easily, cry at the slightest things, feel moody or drift on daydreams.

You may have gained a little weight already. Average weight gain during pregnancy is about 28lbs(13kgs), but most of that is gained in the second and third trimester.

shylebgal- The heart rate with my little girl was over 150, but with my boy it ranged between 125-135. Don't let it bother you, every child is different. :)

i had u/s yesterday i waas 10w3d and baby heart rate was 127..does that seem to low..the u/s lady didnt seem concerned..ive got 2 girls and with them their heart rate was above 150...any advice plzz

intelligender they sell it at walgreens and cvs and a few other places. if you have twins the results will be wonky. i watched a video on utube about it.

Its the 'Intelligender Sex Predictor Test'. I just took it Saturday and it said 'BOY' - my husband is SO VERY excited. We hope it's true because we already have a wonderful little girl. It can be taken 6 weeks after your first MISSED period. You can buy it at Walgreens and it cost $29.99 - you do it yourself - first pee of the morning.

headaches:hmm i get tension headaches, neck and shoulder massages help a lot. also, ice cubes wrapped in a towel,applied to the temples and forehead works well for me. try cold showers too, as it helps with blood flow:)

So I went to the Dr today Found out why I had the distructive headaches. Hopefully his solution will fix the problem. Got to hear the heartbeat this is the earliest I have heard it out of all three pregnancy's Was excited my 7 yr old thought it was the coolest thing ever. Asked if it ment boy or girl it was funny. I have another ultrasound set up for the 17th of July Hopeing it looks more like a baby the a bean LOL

That's weird. I had a crazy dream last night too! I had a dream I had a little boy and I was breast feeding him through a tube through his embelical cord! So strange!

I have been having the most craziest dreams too! The craziest one that I have is that my BF waits on me hand and foot and that he does all of the cooking and cleaning. Lol. He doesn't do any of that. When I wake up he's still his same usual jerk of a man! Ugh.

my dreams are WHACK! I keep having the same dreams - (1)my husband and I get into a huge fight when it is time to leave the hospital after delivering because he never installed the carseat; (2) I remember I am pregnant after drinking like 8 beers at a bar; (3) we find out the gender of the baby(boy), do the whole room and clothes thing, and then I deliver a girl. Every night I have one of these dreams - same storyline but different version. LOL

For all the ladies with headaches. Are you drinking 8 cups of water a day? My headaches are almost always attributed to dehydration. Once I have enough water to drink my headaches go away without tylenol. Hope this helps.

jess121- I also was thinking of doing the predictor test. I just wasn't going to tell my hubby bcuz he really wants a boy and he takes these tests to seriously. I'll let him find out for sure at the u/s. Is anyone else having really bad backaches? Any tips? Thanks!! :)

I just realized that by the time I get back I will be in my second trimester! I am 11 weeks tomorrow and will be 12 the day before I come back! YAY! This next week will FLY! I have been so excited to get to 12 weeks so I can feel safer!!! Stay happy and healthy mommies! Big hugs to you all!

Hi soexcited... I have been having CRAZY dreams lately as well. Not about losing the baby but other really weird things. I am assuming it comes along with pregnancy otherwise I would think I'm losing my mind lol.

hey girls...just woke up and had the worst nightmare ever! In the dream I was spotting I woke up acting crazy...I ran to the bathroom and checked and THANK YOU GOD! Everything was ok. It just really freaked me out. Any one else having these kinds of dreams?

Mamamou-I'm so sorry for your loss :/ I have been having constant headaches, and swollen feet. I have also been having vision problems and extremely bad upper stomach cramps. I'm afraid its early signs of pre eclampsia, but my doctor dismissed me like nothing was wrong, so idk..Also I saw other ladies mentioning their bad mood swings and wanting to drink alcohol; well my husband has two daughters, well his one daughter has saved up her money from working and decided to pay for him to get a tattoo for fathers day and now I'm soo upset because we were supposed to get our first tattoo together :/.. Sorry so long lol

hey ladies, i founf out i was pregnant about two week ago, went to the clinic to get a 'certain' pregnancy test which of course came out positive, now im wondering when i should go to the docotor? i havent gone, and i know my due date because when they do the preggo test they test ur hormone levels and i think thats how they dtermine it, but anyway im 2.4 months and have yet to visit the docotor, have you ladies gone? if so what have they done to you so far? ex. ultrasound, doppler???

Hi ladies, Just here to vent for a minute. Having the absolute worst day that I have had in some time. My husband has been awful to me the last week. Everything I do is not good enough, and I'm apparently nothing more than a mother without any sort of future. (stay home mom of two, 3 on the way. As i write this i am bawling and not sure what to do. He normally is wonderful, but he has completley crushed me. This pregnancy is already stressful enough as Ihave a subchorinoic hematoma that keeps causing me to bleed. I'm so sorry for writing this, I just am feeling horrible and lonley. Thanks for listening to me. I'm sure things will get better.....I hope. Hope all you ladies are feeling great!

WAITIN4NUMBER3- I have had constant headaches as well. However, I tried to cut the amount of caffeine I had and that was bothering me. My doc said it was ok to had a couple servings of pop/coffee to get the edge off. Sometimes I have to lay down and I put a cold rag on my head. I also take Tylenol, but the whole scare on the news with it has caused me to take it less and just have a cup of pop. It seems to work. Hope this helps and they go away!

Shelly, I was going to try that predictor last this past weekend but didn't get the chance. I want to do it this weekend but I'm still debating. I hear its like 90% accurate but if I do take it I'm still going to wait to confirm with my doc before buying all kinds of boy/girl clothes. I can't wait to start shopping!!! :)

Trying to understand why I have had this constent non stop headache for the last four weeks. It will not go away no matter what I do. I take tylenol like it is candy some day's.I try to nap hopeing it will go away but when I wake up it is worse then when I went to sleep. Has anyone here ran into this problem, and if so do you have any advice?? I am at my witts end over this. It is makeing me misarible =0(

MAMAMOU- SO sorry to hear about your m/c. I have been in your place too. My doctor said it was ok to start trying as soon as I wanted b/c your body will let it happen when it can again. It didn't take too long to get pregnant again... Everything happens for a reason (which I'm sure you've heard so much right now.) Good luck!

jess121, I,ve been drinking and enjoying my coffee from the beginning of my pregnancy. I have two cups a day, and sometimes more. I've been fine thus far and the baby is doing great according to my u/s. I do not think the cramps are caused by the caffiene, but then, I am not a doctor. Good luck. Maybe do a google search on the subject???

Hi ladies.... need some insight. So I have been drinking coffee ever since my first appt when my doc said its ok to have 2 cups a day. With my first I didn't drink caffiene at all. Well I started pains in my stomach yesterday and I am having some again this morning. I drank a slimfast this morning just cause I was rushing out the door.... do you think my pains could be from the coffee? or the slimfast? or am I looking to far into this? Thanks in advance for your comments :)

Hey Ladies!! Well the mood swings have kicked it dramastically... I am always accussing my boyfriend of something and yelling at him. Sometimes I cant stand to be around him he don't understand but I tell him I don't mean nothing I am sayin to him its HORMONES.. I know he gets tired of it we have to seperate ourself sometimes I love him to def I know he knows but my mood swings are so mean towards him.. I feel guilty and apologize later on and he just cuddles and hold my tummy.. Anybody else feel this way?
