Born & Birth stories

Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 4 inches and she now weighs approximately 1.75 ounces. Your baby is close to the size of a softball and you can easily tell that you are pregnant now! If you wear maternity clothes or a swimming suit, other people will be able to tell that you are pregnant also. You can probably feel your uterus about three to four inches below your bellybutton.

Your baby, 25 weeks to go.....

If you do not yet have a due date, your doctor can easily determine an accurate due date based on the measurement of your baby's head. This is done by an ultrasound examination. Your doctor will be discussing upcoming tests and procedures with you around this time that are able to diagnose or confirm birth defects and other abnormalities.

Your baby is growing at an amazing rate and looking more like a human every day. Because your baby's skin is so thin, you are able to see blood vessels through the skin. Lanugo hair covers your baby's body, but it will be gone when your baby is born. The hair on the eyebrows and head continues to grow. Some babies are born with little or no hair and others have a head full of hair! If you have an ultrasound at this point, you might be able to see your baby sucking its thumb. Even though the eyes continue to move to the front of the face, they are still widely separated. Your baby's ears look like normal ears and continue to develop externally. The bones that have already formed continue to get harder and retain calcium. The baby is very mobile and flexible at this point. She can bend her arms at the elbows and wrists and she can also make a fist with her hands.

i have an eye infection and was given vigamox for it which is an antibiotic. i looked it up to see if it is safe. it says it is a category C so they don't know. i called my dr's office and spoke with the advise nurse she told me to call the opthamologist back. however they are closed. has anyone used this while pregnant is it safe? althought it is eye drops i'm still worried since it is an antibiotic

Well i came back from my appointment 2day hear baby heartbeat it is 152bpm and they did the test to see if baby have down syndrome i also gain 7lbs from last month omg and i have to wait till 12/18 my next appointment and then they will schedule me for an u/s, well this is my last day in week 15 ladies so i see you all in week 16

Hi everyone - so glad to see i'm not the only one with dull cramping. I've had it all day today.. and according to this site I should totally be showing, but I'm not. and this is my 2nd. I am a little, but by no means is obvious. I've also begun to feel the baby. It's so soft and subtle that sometimes I don't trust to think it's the baby...but I've become familair with it from yesterday and today. Still very soft tho. is anyone else feeling this? Like teeny tiny little taps?

lucia.. i've been having the same thing recently. think it's just the uterus growing and ligaments stretching. try to take it easy this weekend because when i had it bad my dr said i'd maybe been overdoing it a bit.

I wasnt suspto to be in week 15 till tomarrow but I have some problems and had to go to the er last night ,everything is ok!! I had 2 m/c b4 this one so I was I little more worried then I would usually be. But I found out my due date in now May 11th moved me up 4 days not much but it was fun to know. We done a u/s and there is one baby and he/she is one active baby, it did not stop moving the entire time Im so surprized I cant feel the movement. I still am having alot of pain but at least I know my baby is ok!!

i;m freakin out here - anyone had any crampy feelings - very mild and not regular but I feel that sort of tightening - dont think had these with first baby -argh - I thought I was getting away with easy pregnancy this time ; (

I told my boss I was prego this week. I teach classes and our finals are the same week as my due date. She is worried about my being able to finish out the semester and has taken away my day class. I get to keep my night class because I can coteach it with my husband. i am mad about this, but at the same time i was afraid about working so late into the 3rd trimester. It is so hard to balance my feelings.

As far as im aware its ok to lay on your tummy until it gets to uncomfortable for you as for lying on your back, i think they recommend that you dont well not for a long period of time anyway, i get uncomfortable lying on my side all the time so i lye on my back even for a little bit to give my sides a rest. Lying on your side is defiantly the better option

Has anyone else had a dull ache in their abdomen lately?? I panicked and called my Doctor and had a heartbeat check. He said everything sounded great w/ the baby HB of 149... He thinks it must be my tummy growing and ligaments stretching....sure scared me though.. I've had to MC prior to this pregnancy.. I'm a worry wart

Kel, i got the swine flu shot on nov 2nd. i dont thnk i had any side affects from it, but im still a bit nervous. My bf didnt want me to take the shot, and i regretted taking it, only because its sooo new. Otherwise i just stay on the positive note, and hopefully im protected.

Jamie, i tried the stethoscope the other day. I couldn't get the heartbeat but im think i heard movement. I heard the further along you get, the better the device will work.

Dr appt tomorrow - I think they are doing the full Anatomy U/S and standard blood work. Has anyone else had this type of u/s yet? Isn't it too early? We already know it is a boy but just want to see the little guy kicking away. I thought I used to feel him but that could have been gas or something else. Nothing lately except a belly that popped like a round ball. A bit anxious about tomorrow. Hope all is well. Maybe it is normal for mom's to go through this when they still can't feel the baby. If all goes well, we will announce it to a few close people. Hope to hear everyone else news as you find out your baby's gender and tests you are having.

Hi grapefruit - i also had high blood pressure and protein +1 in my urine a few weeks ago when i went see the consultant, but i went the other day and my bloodpressure was normal and only a trace of protein..so dont worry might have cleared up

On Monday I get to find out babys gender... if it cooperates. Im having a gender u/s done. Even though I could care less at this point after having both boys and girls, im nervous... its like you go through all those emotions when you find out your pregnant and when I find out what it is... I FEEL like its life changing as if being PG isnt enough... You get to know if your life will change cuz of a son or a daughter and it becomes so real.... GOSH 7th baby and it still makes me nervous to find out the sex. Will be a long weekend NOW OF COURSE since I want monday to come.

Last day in week 15. Still nervous about doctor's appt on Monday about high bp and protein in urine. I had a dream I had an invisible baby girl who wore glasses. Heeehee I haven't gained any weight but my belly is popping. It just looks like fat.

Hey ladies, congrats to all! I'm on baby no.2 now, so a slightly diferent adventure this time around! Just wanted to say that i had the worst dirrhea & sickness last night, I have never been that sick in my entire life, plus everything is running out like water at the other end. I rang the Dr this morning and he suggests dirralite, but i've been having some cramps now so getting worried. Any thoughts?

... Had 1st noticable Braxton Hicks contraction 2 days ago when I woke up. Didn't know what the hard point in my belly was. Even mentioned it to DH to feel thinking it was our boy. LOL. How ignorant. Hardness Went down after I got up to use the bathroom. Mentioned to my sister later that day thinking there was something wrong. She said it is normal and will happen again and again. The BH contractions are practice contractions of the uterus. Very safe and normal. Whew!

There are many posts on weight loss and gain. I wish I could say that I lost but instead gained about 10 lbs already. Eating breads And oatmeal helped nausea. Dr thinks it's fine. I don't. At least belly popped this week and look more pg. Or is it the weight gain. I look pg now. Has anyone else belly popped yet?

momof609= i hate the super perky never pregnant highschool girls that work in the store near me. they drive me up a wall. with me son, i was in the store and out of nowhere some other pregnant woman screamed, 'woman if you dont shut up and back off i will stab you' i had to walk away because i didnt want to be in her way at any point in time and i was laughing. i love pregnancy hormones.

Hello week 15! Im still not having any cravings at all and have odd day i got off my food and just want a snack. Didnt have any cravings in my last 2 pregnancys. Felt really uncomfortable in my pelvic area and back yesterday...thought id got a water infection starting. Fell bit better so far this morning. Does anyone know that when u give the midwife a urine sample, do they test it for water infections there and then, as id been to see her the other day and she didnt say id got one so i persume i havnt. Had one before and was completly in agony so dont look forward to having another one.

ok so now that I just got done eating an egg sandwich with two slices of bread, thanks opsbabymama, I will tell you that i about came unglued today... I went to the motherhood store with my hubby... the stores are quite small so when we walked in I was behind a clothes rack and hubby was standing in the open aisle and this 20 yr old girl comes walking towards us all cheerful and annoyingly giddy and says.... are you two here to buy gifts, I can help you at the register.... my mouth dropped open, my hubby giggled and looked at me and I said 'UM NO WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT'.... she says OK, no reason.... WELL at that point I was already offended so im asking my hubby... is it cuz she thinks we are too old? He says OH ITS NOT A BIG DEAL... and I was just angry... WHY WOULD SHE SAY THAT? (im 37 and hubby is same age but has some grey hair so I blame him)... I cant believe I got so angry and offended about it but for some reason it just irked me... so after about 10 minutes I just finally told hubby... im not in the mood to shop, im leaving! Im such a big baby and I normally dont take things that way but my feelings were hurt.... SO im venting it to you guys because you are the only ones that understand our disillusional mentality... hubby kept saying all the way home... its ok dont be bothered by that. I wanted to smack him right out of the truck.

oh man i woke up soooo cranky.... first i was mad my brother in law and my bf friend ate all the leftover tacos cuz i really wanted some then i asked my bf to make me an egg sandwhich and once he was almost done i asked him if there was even bread he says no theres one end peice....urgh are you kidding me. so i get ramen noodles. blah...and i have him get me a sprite from jack in the box...thankfully its a two second walk...i love him but man im a weepy and irratable

Hey ladies : ) I have been debating on putting up a belly picture but honestly I feel its more of what I am eating rather than baby. Baby is only 4 inches long and the uterus is about 3 inches below your bellybutton at this point and sadly my biggest part of my belly is right where my bellybutton is...this makes me think my bump is more of last nights dinner, rather than baby! lol But I think I will post a picture anyways since everyone else is... I will be 16 wks tomorrow..YAY!!! I will post one then. Also, i have felt baby a lot today, makes me smile every time : )

thx for the motivation...i've finally taken the time out to post pics of my HUGE belly. SO PLEASE COMMENT, they are on my last page of photos. people have noticed my stomach since i was 8 weeks. funny thing is i've gained no weight and my dr wants me to gain at least 40 since i'm 'underweight' but baby is growing perfectly fine and apparently my belly is too! lol my son was a big baby so i'm sure this one will be too considering i am now the size i was with him at 23 weeks. and he was 8lbs 2oz.
