Born & Birth stories

Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 4 inches and she now weighs approximately 1.75 ounces. Your baby is close to the size of a softball and you can easily tell that you are pregnant now! If you wear maternity clothes or a swimming suit, other people will be able to tell that you are pregnant also. You can probably feel your uterus about three to four inches below your bellybutton.

Your baby, 25 weeks to go.....

If you do not yet have a due date, your doctor can easily determine an accurate due date based on the measurement of your baby's head. This is done by an ultrasound examination. Your doctor will be discussing upcoming tests and procedures with you around this time that are able to diagnose or confirm birth defects and other abnormalities.

Your baby is growing at an amazing rate and looking more like a human every day. Because your baby's skin is so thin, you are able to see blood vessels through the skin. Lanugo hair covers your baby's body, but it will be gone when your baby is born. The hair on the eyebrows and head continues to grow. Some babies are born with little or no hair and others have a head full of hair! If you have an ultrasound at this point, you might be able to see your baby sucking its thumb. Even though the eyes continue to move to the front of the face, they are still widely separated. Your baby's ears look like normal ears and continue to develop externally. The bones that have already formed continue to get harder and retain calcium. The baby is very mobile and flexible at this point. She can bend her arms at the elbows and wrists and she can also make a fist with her hands.

mybabysmama - 2 hours ago
adriana, there isn't anything I won't eat. The only thing that makes me feel sick is not eating. But I have been loving deli sandwhiches (my doc said it was ok to eat them) and lots of fruit.

jwnutting> i was gonna ask that the other day. It seems that i have alot of wierd symptoms this time around. It happened like two times this week.I had it in my hands and feet. I was wondering if it was normal. Im glad you asked your doc.

jwnutting - 6.5 hours ago
I have been waking up in the middle of the night and my hands are a sleep (pins and needles). I sure, that I am just sleeping in a weird position, but its driving me crazy. I called the Dr and she told me that it’s nothing to worry about. I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing numbness in their hands?

adriana03, I had pubic bone pain w/ my 2nd pregnancy. I hope what you are experiencing stays mild. What I experienced started when I would get out of the bed in the morning (like bruising). It then started when I would do any walking, picking up one leg at a time (like when putting on pants), getting in and out of the car and eventually even when laying on my side. It started mild late into my 3rd month of pregnancy and gradually got worse. My 4th month I brought it up to my Dr. he shrugged it off and said it was normal and it would just get worse. My next visit he was checking the size of my uterus and pressed on my pelvic bone w/ his thumb. It brought tears to my eyes it hurt so bad. That's when he said, that's not normal. He explained to me what he thought it was (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction or Pelvic Girdle Pain) and told me he would pass it on to my clinic that would be providing the remainder of my care. They first recommended a maturnity belt. It made things worse! Then they ended up sending me to Manipulation Therapy which helped once but the rest of my visits I felt no relief reguardless of how long they worked with me. By the 7th month I was crying every day because it hurt so bad. I ended up doing some research on my own because I felt like my OB was not helping. I set up an apt. for the Chiropractor and told him my problems. He adjusted my hips and back and I walked out feeling like a new woman. It would always come back but another visit to the chiro would fix me right up. The Drs. said it would stop after I had the baby. It lasted until my daughter was about 4 months old. I hope and pray that this is not what you have. I read somewhere that it is fairly rare (like 1 in 3000 pregnancies). However I wonder if it is so very rare because my neighbor had it too. She wadled over to my house one day and I commented on her waddle. She told me she wouldn't waddle when she wasn't in pain. She also said her Dr. told her it was normal and there was nothing she could do. I told her of my SPD problem and she started crying and hugged me and said I am glad to finally know someone knows how I feel. If this turns out to be your problem, don't let your Drs tell you it is normal or there is nothing you can do. I swear by Chiropractic care for SPD and have already talked to my Chiro about future visits should I get it again w/ this pregnancy. Here are a few sites incase you or someone else needs them: www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk http://pelvicgirdlepain.com/pdf-files/RCHT538_symphysis_pubis_dsyfunction.pdf http://www.babycenter.com.au/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/physicalhealth/pelvicpain/

Does anyone have a sore pubic bone? When i get up in the morning my pubic bone hurts on the right side. If i touch it, it feels bruised???? Its been going on for about 3 weeks now.

justinaezerskyte - 1 days ago
I work from home doing surveys. Money - depends on how much time I spend. I made 234 $ last month. I know it's now much, but its something, because I have to stay at home anyways taking care of my son. http://cashcrate.com/1381620 This website is the best one I found so far for doing surveys and making money.

tquinn - 1 days ago
I had my appointment today and it went great. I am so relieved and happy. The heart rate was in the 150's. Now to wait another four weeks. grrr.....

rlspregnancy3 - 1 days ago
Has anyone else got shooting pains in their left upper arm? It's been coming and going for a few days now, I think it's muscle or ligament related because it's worse with cetain positions ... Any clues? I did have psd (I think that's right, severe hip pain) in my last two pregnancies due to ligaments loosening too much, and wondered if anyone else was having similar? It's not awful but is limiting, I can't even pick up my daughters drink with my left arm, or a cup of tea!

momma2b1224 - 1 days ago

Finally feel like I am starting to get a belly at last!

Moonsigh - 2 days ago
I have JUST had my HIV test and it was negative. I live in a country where its very rife and I took for granted that it would be negative. I don't take that for granted anymore. Thanks for your support. I need it.

Elizabeth21 - 2 days ago
Moonsigh-I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I hope you know that nobody deserves that kind of treatment and that you are strong enough to do what's right for you and your baby. Every decision you make from here on in affects your baby. Stress isn't healthy and neither is being treated like dirt. Be assertive and strong. You deserve better!!! And yes...get tested for std's...that should be top priority!

BettiToot - 2 days ago
Elizabeth - I have lost 18 pounds and my baby is fine...they monitor the baby and I closely but I am still healthy. Just keep taking your vitamins and eating healthy and you and the little bundle should be fine :)

xXxEXPLOxXx - 2 days ago
Men like that aren't worth bother, but you ought to get yourself checked out for STIs. Good luck with the scan!!

Moonsigh - 2 days ago
I found out this morning that my boyfriend and father of my unborn child is seeing a hooker (ONE that I know of). We have been having problems but THIS???? I am going for my 16 week scan tomorrow. Alone.

xXxEXPLOxXx - 2 days ago
I've heard that some women have trouble stomaching food during pregnancy. I knew this woman whose stomach actually curved INWARDS she was so malnuritished!! But they hospitalised her and put her on a drip --so now when I have weeks where I can't eat, I head to the doctor to ask! :D

CVBabynum1 - 2 days ago

Hello week 15!!! I'm getting a little concerned because I still haven't gained any weight but I feel like a heffer. So far I've lost about 13lbs. I'm just not hungry at all unless you consider cravings for hamburgers and lemon gelato (which my hubby won't bring me) eating..

gorogo - 2 days ago
Oh, and cheese!

gorogo - 2 days ago
All I could think about today was eating pierogis (they are like large pasta raviolis with mashed potatoes and cheese inside; a pennsylvania thing). I cooked some up as soon as I got home. And ice cream, I had to have some tonight.

allsmiles - 2 days ago
I am obsessed with cranberry juice and milk....I am not thrilled with the smell of ranch dressing and broccoli. About a month ago I loved anything orange flavored (popcicle, candy, juice) and now, it's the last thing I want!

I have sore hips too! My hips and stomach muscles. I finally caved and bought new bras (I waited too long). I have gone from a B to a D it feels like overnight! My bras were fine up until a week or two ago, but I am glad I did I am SO much more comfortable. I have a feeling I won't be stopping at a D...

Sugarbear87 - 3 days ago
Yay....15 weeks today...my hips are already killing me. Ugh.

Feedmepickles - 3 days ago
CVBaby- you wont suffocate your baby just by riding in a car for a long time while pregnant. If it is a true story then there was something else going on with the baby. If anything you are more likely to get a blood clot from riding in a car/plane for a long time, though that is a risk for any person, pregnant or not. Anytime you travel you want to get up and move around every hour or two to keep your blood flowing properly.
