Born & Birth stories

Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 4 inches and she now weighs approximately 1.75 ounces. Your baby is close to the size of a softball and you can easily tell that you are pregnant now! If you wear maternity clothes or a swimming suit, other people will be able to tell that you are pregnant also. You can probably feel your uterus about three to four inches below your bellybutton.

Your baby, 25 weeks to go.....

If you do not yet have a due date, your doctor can easily determine an accurate due date based on the measurement of your baby's head. This is done by an ultrasound examination. Your doctor will be discussing upcoming tests and procedures with you around this time that are able to diagnose or confirm birth defects and other abnormalities.

Your baby is growing at an amazing rate and looking more like a human every day. Because your baby's skin is so thin, you are able to see blood vessels through the skin. Lanugo hair covers your baby's body, but it will be gone when your baby is born. The hair on the eyebrows and head continues to grow. Some babies are born with little or no hair and others have a head full of hair! If you have an ultrasound at this point, you might be able to see your baby sucking its thumb. Even though the eyes continue to move to the front of the face, they are still widely separated. Your baby's ears look like normal ears and continue to develop externally. The bones that have already formed continue to get harder and retain calcium. The baby is very mobile and flexible at this point. She can bend her arms at the elbows and wrists and she can also make a fist with her hands.

Fantacysoles is mononi. I don't why it keeps putting my email address instead of mononi.

More dreams! This time the police kept following us. We'd pull over and they would leave. I got chased by a dog and climbed up the side of a house. I young kid and his sister tried to fight me. I went home and a girl was living in my house. I beat her up and threw her in the street. I tried calling the police but I had no signal. All in one dream.

waiting4number3 - 12 days ago
I can feel movement somedays and not others. I cant wait to feel her everyday!

brookebaby3 - 12 days ago
Rachie-I started feeling baby move a lot last week. When I lay down its more often. Now I feel it when I'm walking and sitting too. I read on a site they have ears that can hear around 16 weeks so its so awesome that they may be listening to us and starting to recognize families voices!!

ahallmark - 13 days ago
Yeah I'm going to throw his bottles out too. He's finally holding the cup, he leans back...lol. I couldn't get him to take it with the nipple that comes with it, he'd get really mad. I'm going to try switching the nipple back in a few days and see how he does. At least he's drinking out of it now and holding it instead if playing with it.

rachie88 - 13 days ago
Is anyone feeling baby move yet?? I can if I lie still it's like a tightening sensation kinda like wind, it's lovely though :) im 16 weeks on thurs so I'm going for a 4d scan as my 12 week one was rubbish so will get to find out sex! Very excited!! Everyone is guessing a girl including me. :)

waiting4number3 - 13 days ago
My due date was changed to 10/28 again. Baby was measuring due on 10/23 so my dr decided to go back to my dd based on my LMP. This is my third pregnancy and my dd has never been changed back and forth before.

2Tauruses - 13 days ago
I too have been having terrible dreams! I've had one for the past 3 nights.. I have bad anxiety so having terrible dreams doesn't help, I wake up in the morning feeling anxious. Blah hope it stops soon!

With both my sons, around 6 months when I introduced liquids other than milk, I always put that liquid into a sippy cup. After a few months of juice/water in a sippy cup, they both just asked for the sippy cup for their milk. I started early with transitioning from a bottle...

girl from ab (erin) - 13 days ago
Arborlon- i did the same. Threw away all the bottles so my son had no choice but to drink from a cup

fantacysoles@yahoo.com - 13 days ago
I've been having bad dreams about robbers and scary stuff. Also, I've been having leg cramps. I keep having that pain. Feels like teeth are biting my womb, them it goes away. I had cramping the other day too. Idk......help!

Arborlon - 13 days ago
The easiest thing is to just get rid of all the bottles. When he needs it he'll learn quick how to take it from a cup! Same thing with soothers, when my first turned a year I just threw them all in the garbage.

ahallmark - 14 days ago
Thanks...I finally got him to hold his Sippy cup twice today. I had to change the nipple on it to one of his bottle nipples...luckily it fit. I'm going to try really hard not to give him his bottle anymore, especially for comfort...I was doing that not realizing that's a no-no. I feel like we've made a big accomplishment today...lol! As soon as his formula runs out I'm switching him to milk. Can't wait!!

maddiek - 14 days ago
Ahallmark, I am from 32 weeks but wanted to comment about your bottle situation. I, too was told that my DD needed to be off the bottle by 12 months and was nervous when she wouldn't take milk from a cup. So I compromised, and gave her juice from a cup and milk through the bottle until she was ready to make the full transition. He will get there, don't stress, they just work at their own paces. Maybe try something like that and just make sure you don't give him a bottle for comfort or right before bed without brushing teeth. DD is 3.5 years and has a beautiful smile.

brookebaby3 - 14 days ago
Ahallmark- try n let him pick out some big boys cups. Make it a big deal you talk about all day. Hide all of his old bottles. Just keep handing him his new fantastic big boy cup, even when he doesn't ask for it. That worked for both of my boys in about a week.. Sometimes I had to give in one baba when it got too tough but they got it soon enough

ahallmark - 14 days ago
I'm having a hard time trying to get my son off the bottle and on the sippy cup. I never could get him to hold his bottle and he won't hold the sippy cup. He's supposed to be off the bottle by 12 months...that is in 2 weeks. Grrr...

Arborlon - 14 days ago
I had crazy BH last pregnancy and they've already started this one so thats the 'normal' for me.

brookebaby3 - 15 days ago
Even more nightmares for me last night! I hate them, I think the more we talk about the. The more we have!! Lol :(

brookebaby3 - 15 days ago
The what to expect when your expecting book says they start at as early as 6 weeks.. I had them a lot at that time and get them occasionally

elly4thbaby - 15 days ago
@cantwait - I had similar symptoms after some stressful days and my doctor prescribed magnesium to relief my tummy as it got hard as rock.

cantwaittobeamom - 15 days ago
Gosh is it possible to be having BH contractions already! I don't remember this early with the first two but I swear I'm having them now! Not regularly, but I feel it!

ambercordova38@gmail.com - 16 days ago
I've been having really bad dreams this whole pregnancy it's so scary and sad some times :-(

babylove76 - 16 days ago
I had a terrible nightmare last night. I woke up sobbing. I sat at the edge of the bed a cried for an hour.

cantwaittobeamom - 16 days ago
Nightmares here, too!

girl from ab (erin) - 16 days ago
I had a dream last night my OH cheated on me and the girl was pregnant but further along than I and he told me because she was about to give birth. It was awful! Felt so real :(

brookebaby3 - 16 days ago
Yes Ive been having crazy dreams. Last night was my first nightmare I actually had to make myself wake up from it.

matronopeneyes@gmail.com - 16 days ago
Anyone else having issues with nightmares? I have particularly vivid dreams normally anyway, but lately I've been having terrible dreams that are not only vivid, but making me feel sleepless even after a full night. With two older children, I'm finding mornings very difficult.

matronopeneyes@gmail.com - 16 days ago
Yes, it is frustrating.... But I know the time will pass all too quickly and when first I blink my eyes, this baby will be here and then grown just as quick. My next scan is June third...sigh. Also, my eight year old son grabbed me from behind the other day and squeezed really hard, not thinking about it, and I ached for a few but everything was fine...I know its hard not to stress but try not to worry, baby is as safe as possible..:)

brookebaby3 - 16 days ago
Thank you both! I googled an got positive answers too but I defiantly over think! Thanks again. I felt baby kick or move 3 times right now and the tightness went away!

waiting4number3 - 16 days ago
Brooke--- when I was 6 months pregnant I was in a terrible car accident. When I went to the ER they told me the safest place for baby was my womb. My daughter is great. There is no way your son could have hit you as hard as being in a car accident. I think it's normal to be worried but I think everything will be ok!

cantwaittobeamom - 16 days ago
Oh brookebaby!!!! I feel ya! My 1 and 3 year old jump on my stomach where my uterus is all the time and I wake up in the am a lot very uncomfortable bc I've been laying on my tummy and don't realize it til I'm so sore after waking up! I'm sure your sweet baby is good to go!!! Our babies are so protected in there especially as small as they are! But this coming from a girl who just recently came home from the ER and everything was fine!

brookebaby3 - 16 days ago
My 3 year old son just got mad at me because I wouldn't let him have candy. I was sitting down and ran over and stiff armed me in the stomach with both hands. My uterus feels a little hard now. No pain. Just worried. It's a little sinsitive to the touch right above my pubic bone. We're leaving on a short vacation in about 45mins and I don't want to end the trip to go to the ER. I have no idea if I'm over thinking or what!? Any advice or experience would be great!

cantwaittobeamom - 16 days ago
Thanks everyone! I got released at about 330. Got fluids and a shot of rhogam. I feel like pure doo doo bc of this major headache I've had since right before I left the ER. And bless the doctor that was rude. He came to my room and apologized to me twice before I left and then when I left he yelled 'bye Heather' and waved! So refreshing that some dr's notice that they get a little cold or caught up and actually will apologize! All that matters though is that my sweet baby is doing great! Thanks again everyone! :)

babylove76 - 17 days ago
Oh my gosh! Can I just say what a relief it is to come to this board every day and hear nothing but positive words and support? I'm a member of a board on another site, and dear lord, it is a daily cat fight! So much bashing, so much negativity! Thank you ladies, for being awesome ; ) Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

elly4thbaby - 17 days ago
I had monthly visit to my OB today. So far so good -1 lbs during this month:) Had a quick U/S to check baby and HB, baby is growing well, but still no clue about gender, I have to wait for another month until next visit to OB at 4th of July maybe then little one will want to cooperate and show us which team I am:)

elly4thbaby - 17 days ago
@cantwait - great to hear that baby looks good and hope that you'll feel better soon

brookebaby3 - 17 days ago
Cantwait- I'm glad you went in! I'm happy that the baby looks great! Good luck mama

waiting4number3 - 17 days ago
Cantwait-- Good luck!

cantwaittobeamom - 17 days ago
Well, I'm at the ER bc cramping and spotting is still continuing. My OB told me to go....baby looks good. I'm measuring 16w 5d instead of 15w 5d so that's exciting. Dr here isn't very nice. Now just waiting on bloodwork to come back!!!

brookebaby3 - 17 days ago
Tali- omg me too! It's horrible. I'm so worried I'm going to over gain like before. I only gained 1lb at my last appointment. I know I'm going to blow up around 6 months. All I want to eat is lasagna, pasta, bagels, and hash browns!! Oh no! Lol when I make my plates I try and put half or more in veggies .25 of meat and .25 of rice or pasta.. Hope it works!

brookebaby3 - 17 days ago
Cantwait- I'm glad I could help ease your mind up a little!! Spotting is so scary and not feeling the baby move regularly at this point leaves us feeling anxious! I hope it stops soon and I'm sure it will! Make sure you update what the doctor says :)

taliesther - 17 days ago
I'm finally feeling better this week and now I can't stop eating! Nom nom nom

cantwaittobeamom - 17 days ago
Thanks brookbaby!!! That's pretty much the same thing I've found too while googling! It's just annoying to wait til Wednesday for my appt!!! You are so encouraging!!!! :) I can tell ya there will be no sex till the dr approves, and my babies will be getting away with a little extra tomorrow bc I'm laying on the couch alllll day with the exception of feeding and changing diapers!!!! :)

brookebaby3 - 17 days ago
Cantwait- I just googled a bunch of websites for you. Even tho from my experience this pregnancy with spotting all the doctors I saw said its common. You should be worried and go to the ER if your filling a pad and hour. Or in horrible pain. You have non of those problems so its great! I have cramps and reading down this weeks comments last week and next week a few ladies have cramping and its just growing pains. Your cervix is sensitive and can be swollen with blood flow so the sex probably irritated it a little. Just rest with your feet up and drink water. Do some angry cat stretches to try and help your ligaments stretch some. Hold off on sex until you see the doctor. Don't stress out!!

cantwaittobeamom - 17 days ago
Need reassurance! So, I've been pretty crampy for the past three days but nothing intolerable. Had sex two days ago and have spotted 3 times today bright red blood, but very small amounts. One time in cervical mucus and about the size of a dime, the other two, a pencil eraser size. Ill be 16 weeks Sunday! Please tell me this is normal! I know cramping is as I've had it with my previous two babies throughout pregnancies! Holding off on ER bc my next appt with OB is Wednesday and ill call them in the morning...just hate the waiting when I'm spotting and crampy.... ::sigh::

brookebaby3 - 18 days ago
Matronopeneyes- it is frustrating being moved back! I was moved back a few days and as a little upset but its fine. You'll adjust soon. I think the more we think and wonder the gender the more uneasy we feel lol. I started up looking at different nub pictures and gender guessing and I go on this huge rampage searching but it still doesn't tell me my answer! Lol it just works me up. When is your next scan?

matronopeneyes@gmail.com - 18 days ago
Hello ladies, had my first real ultrasound today and they moved my due date back a week so it looks like I'm still at 15 weeks and some change... and they couldn't say definitively on the gender, ugh itsso frustrating and the anticipation is killing me!!! They did send me with a video but we can't tell if the little pyramid between the legs is ovaries and something else, or testes and a penis....

brookebaby3 - 18 days ago
Amber if you go into youtube you can watch some reviews on it. The one I saw was wrong.

brookebaby3 - 18 days ago
Lol OMG how weird. I was at target today and didnt see anything I had to buy lol. I personally like old navy's jeans and I can still wear regular t shirts I usually buy a bigger size or get the long shirts/ short dress.. Maternity clothes are over priced.
