Ok lady's I have a couple of questions. Please forgive my ignorance!lol My wife's dr. said he hasn't seen a uterus like hers in ten years. I guess for twins it usually measures 3 1/2 while my wifey's measures 5 1/2. Doc says it great and he is excited.lol while my wife is extremely uncomfortable. she is 31 weeks today I think? she told the dr. to c section her b/c she can't take anymore pain after 34 weeks, he laughed and said with her castiron uterus he wouldn't. My question is what does the uterus do? the bigger the more the baby can grow? what about the cervix, when it softens what does that mean? I would ask my wife however she might get agitated by me.lmao please let me know!!!!

Hi, I'm 17 weeks and feeling weird like in transition. I'm passing the point from eating 20 times a day so I don't get nausea to 'not to hungry' and hot hahaha, but I guess It's better than m/s. :)

CONGRATS! To all of you on your twin pregnancy. My twins are almost 6 months now, man does time fly. I never thought I would say this being that my pregnancy was horrible!, but at one point (believe it or not) I did miss being pregnant, so enjoy it. Any questions or anything feel free to leave a comment. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!

Hi everyone!! Just got back from my appt. and had my u/s. Baby A is head down and Baby B is head up. both weigh in at 1pound each right now and are growing at the same rate - both are measuring in at 21 - 1/2 wks instead of 20 but better too big than too small. Oh, and found out both are boys - they believe they are fraternal at this point since have own sacs, placentas, cords, etc... so we'll see. I have another appt in 4 weeks again with u/s - so far everything looks great!! And Baby A really likes to kick BAby B in the head - he was doing it the whole u/s - so they're already beating each other up ha ha....

BEAWARE EVERY1 Government safety advocates have announced a recall of about 320,000 Jardine cribs, after four children became trapped. The wooden slats and spindles on the crib's frames can break. Children can get trapped in the remaining gap. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is aware of at least 42 incidents of broken slats and spindles, and four instances of children getting trapped. Two children suffered cuts and bruises. The recalled cribs were manufactured in Taiwan by Jardine Enterprises and sold by KidsWorld stores, Geoffrey stores, Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us. They were available nationwide between January 2002 and May 2008.

just alil info i came accross Doctors do suggest against sleeping on your back while pregnant because there's a big vein, called the inferior vena cava that runs under the uterus. This vein returns the blood from the lower part of the body to the heart, and it really shouldn't be squashed. (Then there are all those intestines in there. They shouldn't be squashed, either.) Pregnant women who sleep on their backs run an increased risk of developing backaches, low blood pressure, hemorrhoids, and other unpleasant symptoms. For many pregnant women, however, side sleeping is uncomfortable and, after the first couple of months, belly sleeping becomes out of the question. The answer? Pillows. Lots of them. You don't have to spend a fortune on fancy pillows - any old pillows will do. Lie on your side (ideally, your left side) with your top leg crossed over the bottom one, tuck a pillow under your head, tuck another pillow under your belly, yet another one between your knees, and, if you want to, hug one. You might even want to stuff a fifth one behind your back. These pillows will help you support your body, even when you're huge as a house. Yes, you'll probably roll around in the night and end up on your back again. As soon as you wake up (or your loving partner wakes you up), turn over and reassemble the arrangement. You'll soon get used to the new position. And it will give you something else to look forward to once you've delivered - roll on your back and 'ah. bliss!'Congratulations on your baby!

NC 'Big twins' tip scales at a combined 23 pounds Posted: Today at 3:54 p.m. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — They aren't America's heaviest newborn twins on record, but they certainly tip the scales: Sean William Maynard and Abigail Rose Maynard weighed in at a combined 23 pounds and 1 ounce at birth this week, a North Carolina hospital announced Friday. Freda Springs, spokeswoman for Forsyth Medical Center, said the twins were delivered two minutes apart by Caesarean section on Tuesday at the center's Sara Lee Center for Women's Health in Winston-Salem. The boy weighed 10 pounds, 14 ounces; the girl, 12 pounds, 3 ounces. Springs said both babies are in excellent condition after their birth to parents Joey and Erin Maynard of Winston-Salem. The combined weight of the twins is about four pounds shy of the combined weight of twins born in Arkansas in 1927, the hospital said. Those twins weighed a total of 27 pounds, 12 ounces, hospital researchers said, adding they could find no public record of any heavier twins than the Arkansas pair born since 1900. They said the Maynard twins topped a 1997 delivery in North Carolina of big twins weighing a total of 18 pounds, 10 ounces. Sean, tucked in a blue blanket, was held by his mother and his sister, swaddled in pink, was cradled by her father at a hospital news conference Friday. The infants slept quietly through their first public appearance.

Congrats on the half way point ladies! As for me I just found out that the first ultrasound was read by a 'rookie' and I was given wrong info. At first they told me I was 14 weeks. At the 2nd ultrasound they apologized and told me in reality I am 17! Three weeks is a big change...especially after all the meticulous planning that goes into preparing for twins! Ugh, I was so upset but then that went away and Im actually more excited to hear that they are healthy and doing well! Well Ladies, hope all is well and great with you all. Ciao

Hi, I am almost 20 weeks and we found out we are having 2 baby boys... I was hoping for a girl for we have a 3 year old boy already... but well, need to see some ideas to help me stay insane with too many boys in the house! Baby A moves a lot and Baby B not much... is anyone feeling that too?

dlei - 22 days ago
Amazing Day...first real ultrasound in my 18th week. Couldn't tell gender but twin A is 221 grams (8 oz) and it's heart rate was 143. Twin B is 215 grams (also 8 oz) and it's heart rate was 146. They are pretty similar!! 4 legs, 4 arms, 20 fingers, 20 toes - and all the proper functioning organs. One was sleeping and one was awake and moving around. Both are doing well and everything is on track!! Next time (maybe) we'll be able to tell if they're boys or girls. Good news is lots of ultrasounds ahead!!

Anyone stroller shopping yet? I was browsing and was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the double stroller with infant carseat adapters?? I am looking at the double bob, but also want a mall stroller too, & it would be nice to have carseats that are compatible with both stollers...let me know if anyone has started to research

dlei - 22 days ago
18 weeks now. Wow!! The first 12 seemed like forever but now it seems to be flying by. The big ultrasound is tomorrow. I am SO excited. I hope atleast one of the babies cooperates (they're identical) so if we see one - we'll know both!! It'll be the first time my husband will see or hear them!!

one more week and i am at the 16 mark...i am so scared i just want to enjoy my pregnancy but i keep hearing the horror storoes how people with twins miscarried late in there pregnancy.....gosh i just want my babies to come and be healthy!!!

rebekahmay - 27 days ago
Oh, just to add something else. Another reason i think it could be twins is there are a few sets of twins through my partners family so i think it could very well be possible! But how likely is it that an ultrasound would miss it?

rebekahmay - 27 days ago
Hey ladies, i am 18 weeks pregnant and wondering if i am having twins, i had a scan at 7 weeks and there appeared to just be 1 baby but i have started showing quite early and i have been feeling movement for quite some time, plus i had horrible morning sickness early on which was just nothing compared to my last pregnancy. I did fall pregnant only a few months after having my first daughter so some people have said all these things could just be due to being pregnant again so soon. But i have just have had this strong feeling since the start that it is twins. My partner dosent even want to hear my speak about twins, haha, he would probably have a heart attack if it were. Well i have my next ultrasound next tuesday so i suppose i will know for sure then! Just wondering if anybody else has been or is in a similar situation?

ariellex3love22 - 28 days ago
OMG u ppl are sooo lucky!! i have one daughter, and thats all i wanted and can handle now, but for my next child/ren i want twins!!

Congrats on the boy AND girl! :) Good to hear there is only a slight problem. And you're right if that is the worst of it you are doing great!

Meplus2 - 28 days ago
Well I had my scan and I'm having a boy and girl. They are both growing well, they are the size they should be for 19 weeks. Me and my hubby are over the moon. The doc says our little man has a club foot, but if that's the worst of it... then I'm happy. The doc said it's certainly something that can be fixed. I'm over the moon!!! Next scan in 4 weeks.

sailorsbabybump - 33 days ago
OMG I am 18 weeks and just realized...I might be over halfway done being pregnant! They are hoping I hold out until 36 weeks, but I might not be able to. I can't believe how fast this is going! I love being pregnant (although I'm sure that might change when I get really huge!) and I don't want it to end so soon!

Meplus2 - 33 days ago
i'm 19 weeks on monday. my next scan is wednesday to find out what we are having. I'm so excited about seeing them again. dizzy650, the doctors keep changing my dates due to their size and this will probably keep happening. Go with your dates.

dizzy6500 - 35 days ago
Hello all! This is my first time in but I am looking for some twin mother support. I am 19 weeks today (I think). I found out at 7 weeks that there are twins and I just found out that one is a boy and one is a girl. I have some questions though....for one, they can't seem to give me an exact age of the babies. They keep going back and forth by a week? Shouldn't they be pretty sure by now? Also, they said the babies weigh 8+ ozs each. That seems like a lot for only 19 weeks? I have no clue though. I know I have gained 21 lbs already so I wouldn't be surprised if the babies were running big. Anyway, I look forward to talking with you all along this journey!! Please let me know if anyone has any similar experience.

csinkula - 40 days ago
I definitely knew at 7 weeks that there were 2. There were 3 at 5 weeks but the third dissolved and caused some bleeding. I would wait until the next ultrasound and that will be difinitive.

jazzyblack29 - 40 days ago
I am so excited! I am pregnant with twins. I do know one is I boy for sure. I think the other baby is a boy as well. This is my first pregnancy, is there any good advice out there for me?

jennifer1017 - 40 days ago
Could I be having twins? This is so strange. I have a doppler for home use and for the last few weeks I have noticed that I can pick up 2 rapid heartbeats, usually a few inches away from each other, plus my own. The 2 fast heartbeats move around all the time and last night they were about 6 inches apart from each other on opposite sides of my stomach. I have only had 1 ultrasound, at 7 weeks and there was only 1 baby in there. I'm not even that big yet, I really can't believe that I could be carrying twins and think that this second fast heartbeat must be an echo or the umbilical cord. I have the big ultrasound on Monday thank goodness! Anyone else have this experience with their doppler? Were you all able to tell that there were 2 babies in there if you had an early ultrasound?

csinkula - 40 days ago
ali0489twins: What has your doctor said about your weight gain? I was told not to expect a huge weight gain because I started out chubby. I am 17.5weeks pregnant and I have gained 6 pounds. So long as your doctors aren't concerned, it should not be an issue.

sw0699 - 40 days ago

csinkula - 42 days ago
Good morning mommies! I have not posted but I have enjoyed your comments and advice. I was wondering if any of you have gone for cervical scans to keep an eye on the cervix incase of incompetence? My OB thinks it is likely that I may deliver very early with a shortened cervix because of my many miscarriages and uterine surgeries. I go to the Maternal Fetal Specialist this afternoon for my first scan. How often do they have me come back for a check? It would just devastate me if we lost any more babies. Any help is greatly appreciated.

twinmomma2 - 49 days ago
Hello, I am 17 weeks pregnant with twins. (IVF) I had another ultrasound this past Monday and the tech could not tell what the sex was of either. She said maybe 1 could be a girl. I am dying to know!! I have to wait another 6 weeks for another ultrasound! My Dr. said everything looked fine with them though. They are 7 oz. which I was wondering what everyone else's weight at this particular week? I am hoping for a boy and a girl. I have a teenage girl now and would like to have one of each. Let's hope! :) God Bless all the mothers out there!

HI THERE! WELL I AM ABOUT 20 WEEKS PREGNANT AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING DR. APP AND SCANS EVER 2 WEEKS NOW FOR 2 MONTHS. I SWITCHED DOCTORS BECAUSE HE HAD ME WAIT 5 WEEKS BEFORE HE CHECKED ME AND I HAVE A PAST OF MANY MISCARRIAGES AND HE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND MY NEED FOR REASSURANCE. I FOUND A LADY SOCTOR WHOM I LOVE DEARLY, SHE IS AWESOME AND HAS YOUNG CHILDREN HERSELF. I CAN HARDLY WIAT MY TWO WEEKS I AM SO EXCITED TO KNOW THEY ARE OKAY AND ARE ALIVE. I DO FEEL MOVEMENT BUT I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S JUST ONE OR BOTH YET. PLUS I AM A VERY BUSY MOM OF TWO GIRLS AGES 2 AND 3 AND SO I DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME TO WAIT AND FEEL MOVEMENT. I AM EXPECTING TWIN BOYS. I REALLY DIDN'T FEEL MOVEMENT UNTIL WEEK 18 OR SO. I HOPE THE BEST FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK!

Hello everyone and congrats to all the twin moms out there. I just found out yesterday at 18 weeks that I'm having twin girls. I'm so excited and also nervous. My first pregnancy, which was also twins, resulted in a miscarriage at 20 weeks due to an incompetent cervix (happens if your cervix is not strong and opens too early). So for this preganacy I had a cerclage (sowing up of the cervix so it doesn't open up early) put in at 13 weeks and have been on strict bedrest every since. Its kinda fustrating because the weather is getting nice but I'm stuck in my bed until my due date which is Oct. 20, only bathroom priveledges. All this considered, I'm still really excited and cant wait to see my little girls. By the way is anyone else on bedrest, I feel like I'm the only one out there. Again, congrats to everyone and good luck.

Hi Girls, I am 17 1/2 weeks pregnant with twins, hope for a boy and a girl but will find out in june.I am enjoying my pregnancy but lately i have been feeling my left pelvic very painful and just 2 days ago both of my breast near my clevage are kinda lumpy ( lumpy meaning kinda hardened) but only like 1 or 2 inches. Are any of you feeling this or am i the only one? I think i have become worried worm. other than that everything is going well. please let me know if anyone is feeling same..

Hi, everyone I'm 18weeks and found out last Tuesday I was having twin girls. I really was supprised because I had it in my head I was having 2 boys or one of each. I'm still really excited just nervous since I have an older son and I feel like I'm starting all over. I did want to see if its weird that my next doctors appointment isn't for another 5weeks away. How many doctor visits is everyone having around 18weeks? Just wondering. I'm a little nervous because of my 2 past miscarriages in the last 10months. good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

BABYNUMBER1AND2 HI THERE I WOULDN'T WORRY TO MUCH IF YOUR DOCTOR DOESN'T MEASURE YOU AS LONG AS HE DOES AN ULTRASOUND OR SOMETHING TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE STILL SHOWING FETAL GROWTH. I ASKED MY DOCTOR TO MEASURE ME AND SHE SAID 'LETS DO IT FOR FUN' SO I ASSUME SHE DIDN'T NEED TO, BUT THAT MAY BE BECAUSE SHE JUST DID A QUICK ULTRASOUND TO TAKE A PEAK AT THEM. I NOW SEE MY DOCTOR EVERY 2 WEEKS AND SHE HAS DONE AN ULTRASOUND EVERY TIME, WHICH IS GREAT, I NEED THE REASSURANCE. I DO HAVE TWO LITTLE GIRLS BUT I HAVE HAD MISS CARRIAGES IN THE PAST. SO I AM A BIT OF A WORRIER. I DID SWITH DOCTORS WITH THIS PREGNANCY BECAUSE I NEEDED A DOCTOR WHO UNDERSTOOD MY NEED FOR REASSURANCE. EXPECIALLY WITH TWINS, IN MY OPPINION TWICE THE WORRIES AND CONCERNS. I HAVE A DOCTOR APPOINTMENT TODAY AT 4 PM AND I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HOWE THEY ARE DOING. I LOVE MY DOCTOR SO MUCH SHE ROCKS. WHEN I WENT TO HER THE FIRST TIME I WAS 13 WEEKS PREGNANT AND SHE TOLD ME WHAT I WAS HAVING WHICH MADE EVERYTHING MORE REAL, SHE ALSO HAD ME GO FOR AN NT SCAN WHICH HAD TO BE DONE BEFORE 13 WEEKS 6 DAYS AND THAT CHECKS FOR DOWN SYNDROME AND SO ON AND SO FAR EVERYTHING IS GREAT, WE HAVE VERIFIED 3-4 TIMES THAT THEY ARE STILL BOYS. IF YOU WANT YOU CAN EMAIL ME AT jessicaolson82@hotmail.com I HOPE YOU FEEL THE BABIES SOON. YOU NEED TO REST AND BE PATIENT! I REALLY DON'T FEEL THEM MUCH IF I AM UP AND ABOUT. HOPE ALL IS GOOD. IF NEED BE FIND A DOCTOR THAT REASSURES YOU WHEN YOU NEED IT.

babynumber1and2 - 56 days ago
Jessica, I'm glad you can feel the babies. I'm 18 weeks and I haven't felt them yet. I can't wait to feel them. My dr. doesn't ever measure me. Should I be worried???

jessicaolson82 - 57 days ago
I AM 18.5 WEEKS PREGNANT NOW WITH TWIN BOYS WHO ARE IN THERE OWN SACK AND HAVE THERE OWN PLACENTAS AND I JUST STARTED FEELING THEM MOVE THIS WEEK. I WAS SO IMPATIENT. I READ THAT OTHERS FELT IT SOONER BUT NOT THE CASE FOR ME. I MAINLY FEEL BABY A AND HE IS THE LOWER TWIN. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE.

jessicaolson82 - 57 days ago
I AM PREGNANT WITH TWIN BOYS AND AT MY 17TH WEEK APOINTMENT I MEASURED 26 WEEKS WOW! I HAVE TWO OTHER CHILDREN WHO MEASURED EXACTLY RIGHT ON ANYONE ELSE MEASUING THIS BIG? I HAVE HAD A TON OF ULTRASOUNDS AND AT 14 WEEKS THEY GREW 3 DAYS AHEAD FROM THE OTHER SCANS. MY DOCTOR DID A SCAN THAT SAME TIME WHEN SHE MEASURES ME AND THE LOOK GREAT BUT SHE DIDN'T MEASURE THEM. MOST PEOPLE I HAVE TALKED TO MEASURE 4-5 WEEKS AHEAD. ANY THOUGHTS?

twinsagain - 57 days ago
This is actually my second set of twins so I have tried a few things out - mind you it was 11 years ago but... I breastfed both, until they were 9 months old. Supply increases with demand so even when one was smaller and had to be bottlefed to monitor how much he was getting, when he got stronger in about 3 weeks, he went back to breastfeeding and we had a couple of days of more frequent feedings but then supply caught up. I kept them in the same crib until about 6 months when they started disturbing each other - then they were still in the same room, just different cribs. Hope that helps. If you have any other specific questions, just ask.

ErikaS - 57 days ago
Hi everyone, I just found out about this site, which is great, and I just wanted to leave a note saying best of luck to everyone. We found out were expecting twins at 11.5 weeks, and am now 19.5 weeks. Looks like 2 baby boys! Were so happy and excited but I cant help but worry. Its nerve racking not knowing whats going on in there... Just curious what everyones thoughts are on breast feeding twins, sleeping arrangements...etc...

AshleyEvans - 58 days ago
Hi all. This is my 1st pregnancy and I just found out that i have 2 anterior placentas. I know that there is nothing to worry about but I was just wondering if anyone else out there had this and if so about when did you start to feel your babies move?
