Your baby's crown-to-rump length is 5.2 to 6 inches this week. Your baby weighs approximately 7 ounces and will increase its weight more than 15 times between now and birth!

Most women can feel their uterus about a half of an inch below their bellybutton at this point of pregnancy. If you turn to the side, you can really tell that your body is changing! Most women have gained up to 14 pounds now and only 7 ounces of that is your baby! The placenta weighs about 6 ounces and the amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby weighs 11 ounces. Your breasts have increased in weight by 6 ounces each and the uterus has grown to 11 ounces! You may be gaining weight in places other than your abdomen and this may be affecting your posture and sleeping habits.

One of the most amazing aspects of your baby's growth and development is that of the fetal brain. Your baby's brain is one of the first organs to appear. Your baby's oversized head shows the brain's importance in his development. Because the nerves that connect the muscles to the brain have grown into place, your baby's movements are consciously directed. Your baby's ears stand out from the sides of the head and the buds for your baby's permanent teeth appear. Your baby's arms and legs have reached their relative proportions and his feet are approximately one inch long.

Lane1, my u/s tech said it's a girl for me but when the dr. comes in, he says 99% its a girl and no u/s is 100% accurate. My friend had hers and they said it was a boy....next thing you know it, out pops a girl! He says to make sure I keep all the receipts just in case I need to exchange it BUT he also says the tech that did my u/s is the most trusted and accurate one he has in his office. She never made a mistake since working there. The tech gives me a viewing of the genital for the longest. Before she told me its a girl, I can see and know that already. Her legs were wide open and it was very vivid so I know there is no way in doubt it would be a boy. (Not that I prefer a girl over a boy, I could care less what I have just as long as my baby is healthy since I already have a pair) Then she goes, 'Congrats! You are having a girl!' If I were you and u feel skeptical, keep it neutral for now and you can always touch ups later to the nursery. Make sure u keep the receipt. As for me, I'm hoping to have another u/s to confirm the sex since I have mine at 18 weeks. So far I have both names picked out for my baby. Good Luck!

For some reason, I think names are SO hard to pick.... and being picky doesn't help!! Hopefully the right name will come along! I liked Briar for a boy, but I highly doubt that hubby will like it.

Any other two syllable boy names????? can not be shortened, begining with any letter?

Hi ladies! I've been reading all posts, but did not have a chance to add anything. TOday I have a question to all of you that are having little girls. Were the tech or doctors 100% sure. Because mine said it was a girl, but only 99.5% lol...and she wasn't in a perfect position..What should I do??? I ahve heard of so many mistakes already. Hello ladies!!!! I am so happy and excited to be in week 19!!! Woop woop!! Pretty much halfway there!!! YAY!! We go for my US on Monday to find out what the lil bean is..EEK!!! I am so excited!! Plus, I think I finally am feeling the bean move a lil bit!! It felt kind of like my stomach was growling, but I wasn't hungry..and I know I didn't have gas..so I am going to assume it was the baby!! I had the same feeling today, so I am excited to think it was!! hehe!! mumof2and1ontheway: I am so so sorry to hear about what happened!! My heart reached out to you, and you will be in my prayers! doratheexplorer_ I started having a tooth bothering me and my Doctor said that having any work done that needs to be done is fine, just remind the dentist you are expecting and try not to have to many X-rays. Your mouth will be more sensitive while pregnant though. Also I have never had acne and ever since I got pregnant I have had pimples on my face and neck... my doctor said jokeingly that it's strong male hormones lol. With my first two girls I had the pregnancy glow and with this baby let me tell you nothing is glowing. Let me know how the omega three works out for you.

I started takin fish oil (omega 3) pills so I'm hopin they help! Hi JellyBean, I'm from the UK and it seems like different hospitals have different policies. Mine will let you know the gender if you want. Apparently its because some people from certain religious groups abort girl babies! Horrible thought! I can't wait for my scan next week, just hope everything is ok. Also hope the baby has their legs uncrossed! :0)
