The right foot, including the developing bones, are clearly visible in the middle of the screen
Your baby's crown-to-rump length is 5.2 to 6 inches this week. Your baby weighs approximately 7 ounces and will increase its weight more than 15 times between now and birth!
Most women can feel their uterus about a half of an inch below their bellybutton at this point of pregnancy. If you turn to the side, you can really tell that your body is changing! Most women have gained up to 14 pounds now and only 7 ounces of that is your baby! The placenta weighs about 6 ounces and the amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby weighs 11 ounces. Your breasts have increased in weight by 6 ounces each and the uterus has grown to 11 ounces! You may be gaining weight in places other than your abdomen and this may be affecting your posture and sleeping habits.
One of the most amazing aspects of your baby's growth and development is that of the fetal brain. Your baby's brain is one of the first organs to appear. Your baby's oversized head shows the brain's importance in his development. Because the nerves that connect the muscles to the brain have grown into place, your baby's movements are consciously directed. Your baby's ears stand out from the sides of the head and the buds for your baby's permanent teeth appear. Your baby's arms and legs have reached their relative proportions and his feet are approximately one inch long.

Hi ladies, new to the site and wanted to say hi and congrats to you all!! I am 19 weeks today and last week I found out that there is a small amount of excess fluid around my baby's heart. They say it could be nothing or it could be the sign of downs syndrome, heart defect or viral infection. Anyone dealt with this kind of thing? I'm scared to death but trying to stay positive :)

I've been back on the treadmill for 5 weeks now but before that I was way to tired! I jog at least 20km per week and a few weights 3x week. I still do have to kick myself in the butt though and the 3 months I couldn't get myself exercising definetly had an effect on my thighs and butt:(
1st-time-Toya - 6.8 hours ago
OMG i feel your pain. I put on some gray leggings and was just looking at my thighs today with a look of disgust on my face....my thighs have never been this big in my whole life. I also feel no motivation to work out, i am just too TIRED most of the time to do anything. i have already gained 16 pounds too, I dont even wanna think about how much weight i am going to gain during this pregnancy if i dont get my lazy butt up and exercise. :-(
benelli-girl - 8.8 hours ago
My butt n thighs r getting too big too! I already had a big butt n thighs! Damn!! Oh well! Find out sex Tuesday! Went shopping today n wanted to buy baby cloths! Have to wait 2 more days!

yay week 19!! ukmummy- i can relate. i ALWAYS feel so bloated and it makes it makes it even harder for me to get off the couch!! and my butt and thighs are paying the price. this is my first pregnancy....so far i have put on a miserable 16 lbs!!! :( my doc isnt concerned....but its hard getting on the scale every 4 weeks.
trixa25 - 11 hours ago
hello week 19!! better to count by weeks than by months, time flies ;) I always give birth on week 38 so i got 19 more weeks to go lol
UKmummy87 - 13.8 hours ago
Has anyone else become really lazy? I just have no motivation to do any exercise! The pounds are piling on, but no bump, just thighs, face, ass and arms. I feel so down when I look at myself in the mirror. No clothes fit me. I'm living in jogging bottoms. I feel unattractive and lethargic. I was the complete opposite with my previous pregnancy. I guess I should just be grateful that I'm pregnant and quit moaning!!

I have been trying to catch up on who is having what. Congrats 1st time toya on your boy. I cant believe all these boys. Indigo I hv a girl and will be 3 boys. I love my boys because they get mad and get over it quick. Where as my daughter it drags out. They are mommas boys and my daughter was a daddies girl. Boys and girls are so different and just the thought of another boy is so exciting. If you look you will find lots of positives. My favorite thing is the fact they are quick to get over problems and not dramatic just wild. They will hv qualities similar to their daddy too.
nicolemarie26 - 2 days ago
roxy- im not supposed to be in here till tomarrow, but to answer your question i hae experienced light cramping when rolling over from side to side. i also get a side ache when laying on my left. the kind you get when you run for a long time. my doc didnt seem concerned, and she said its ok to sleep on the right if thats whats comfortable...but that as we get further along to avoid laying on our backs

Thanks ladies for your support. Indigocream - thank you for your testimony. The dr. is older :) and he thinks it'll be fine. Guess I won't know until 9 weeks from now. That feels like forever, wish I could just sleep and wake up and be 28 weeks, wouldn't that be nice.

Boyoboy... My daughter had a cyst also... She is now 2... Counting and dancing.... The cyst was there and they kept doing u/s on her brain until her soft spot closed up at about 2 to 3 months.. Well any who the young doctors kept wanting to run test...they wanted to put her to sleep and scan her... Her Dr. Was about 58 to 60 he said no... I said no...we just let her develop...she can talk etc... But it took a little extra time... But she is caught up with her age... So I would just pray and let God lead you and your dr... The older the better... Sometimes it's not in a test nor a book! Check out my page she was in the NICU for a while...

boyoboy: im so sorry about your news. tryingto think positive tho, the brain is powerful thing and i believe one can will things to happen. I know i'll be focusing on the cyst going away for you and your baby!

hey ladies! i randomly applied to audition for plamer's cocoa butter as a model andthey called me in for an in person audition!! Im so nervous! I never really thought they'd call me, so wish me luck!!
boyoboy - 3 days ago
Had my ultrasound with the specialist yesterday. My baby has a cyst on his brain, it can either just go away which a huge odds are that's going to happen or it's a sign of trisonomy-18. You know sometimes I think maybe no ultrasounds would be best because all you think about is that .5 percent chance. I'm trying to focus on the positive side but every now and then I think what if. But I truly feel confident it'll all be fine, my blood work came back soo good and there's no other markers. But everything else is a ok. Measuring right on and still a boy lol.
trying4second - 4 days ago
Benelligirl- I am 19 weeks 2 days as well and still not feeling any movement. I felt strong movements as of 18 weeks with my first so this sucks! But it is said that most women will start feeling movements between 18 and 20 weeks but nothing strong til about 24... I know the placenta is anterior for me so that explains it... Hope your little one kicks soon:)
Lizzieloos - 4 days ago
Hi ukmummy x I had tummy aches too last night, I put it down to my gym workout, baby doesn't seem to like me doing 'back and chest' routines so thought it was a few braxton hicks type things in protest. I've never watched one born every minute as I've never really know when it was on, but last nights sounded horrible. I have my scan next Wednesday, so excited to find out pink or blue x
benelli-girl - 4 days ago
Gosh, I'm 19wks, 2days and I still haven't felt any movement!! This is first baby so I don't know what it feels like.... But I keep checking with my doppler n listening to the heartbeat n it's strong n healthy. And today it kept moving around so much it was hard to hear it for long in one place, so I know the baby is moving..... Hmmmm we have our US done on Tuesday, valentines day!! I keep imagining feeling it, but who knows... Lol
UKmummy87 - 4 days ago
I was going to keep it a surprise until the birth, but I've changed my mind now, I think I'm going to see if I can find out at my 20 week scan. There's no point going by old wives tales, I'd rather know for sure.
I was in sooo much pain last night, really bad 'period type pains' all evening, I ended up resorting to taking two paracetamol which seemed to ease the pain a bit but I was getting really worried, but luckily this morning I feel fine. I'm such a worrier.
In UK they show a tv show called 'One Born Every Minute', I watch it every week. It shows the births of a few women. Last night I really wish I hadn't watched it. This baby nearly died during delivery. Her shoulders got stuck so they had to break her arm to pull her out but when she came out her feet were bright blue and her face was all lifeless and purple, I just burst out crying uncontrolably and it really scared me!! Luckily baby was okay in the end after few minutes of resuscitation. It's put me off watching it again!!

Yeah!! Week 19 today!! Congrats Cherry09 ~*PINK*~!! Yesterday I also found out that I am having a girl after having 2 boys, so I totally understand. Millsbaby2012, I pray all is well with your baby. :)

lizzieloo - I ahd BH WAY early with the 2nd pregnancy like I think it was around 13 weeks or so (how quickly we forget thes things!) and I was very sick so it really worried me. The past week or so I've been feeling that 'tight' feeling and I thought it was baby as well but I'm leaning more towards BH now! I guess its a good sign...means our bodies are getting ready! :)
UkMommy - I heard that as well but I really think its just old wives tales. Both my sons had very high HB and this baby girl has high HB as well (like 140+ for all 3) so dont lose hope! :)
UKmummy87 - 4 days ago
She didn't tell me and I'm so shy, so didn't have the guts to ask :(
Lizzieloos - 5 days ago
Ukmummy did you get the beats per minute?? They say 140bpm and above is a girl and below 140 is a boy. Mine was 149 at my las midwife appointment, so he's hoping this Yale is right as I'd love another girl x
UKmummy87 - 5 days ago
I've searched all over google and it apparently is correct 9 times out of 10... Okay, look forward to finding out what you're having :)
1st-time-Toya - 5 days ago
wow @UKmummy i have never heard that old wives tale. Very insteresting because i also really want a boy and everytime i have heard my little beans heartbeat it has sounded more like a train than galloping horses. I find out what i am having this friday sooo i will test this theory and let you know then :-)
UKmummy87 - 5 days ago
... And how accurate is the old wives tale about the heartbeat, which claims if it's a girl it sounds like galloping horses and if it's a boy it sounds like a train??... As I just had to go to the doctors for a blood test and she was kind enough to listen to baby's heartbeat for me and it sounded like galloping horses.. I guess it's made me realise I want a boy deep down as when I heard it my heart sank with disappointment :-/

Very quiet in this week compared to other weeks. I hope everyone is well. Do you celebrate valentines day in the US? Not sure if you do, but here in UK it's on Tuesday 14th. I'm going away with my boyfriend for a spa break this weekend, then scan on Monday, then valentines day Tuesday. So I'm in a good mood :)

Thanks ladies for thinking of us and our babies. Love all of the support from you ladies.. Had my ultrasound today, our little bubba was moving around like crazy .. I am leaking amniotic fluid, so who knows how low I am, but the main thing is baby still looks happy.. I guess I will hear about the syst in a few days, once the results come in.. Baby had hiccups during the ultrasound. : ) have a good nite ladies.. xo
lizzieloos - 6 days ago
Taniamommy - ME! Thank goodness someone else is getting them too! It seems like I get a mild braxton hicks just before baby starts moving about all over. Thought it was my imagination as I've never had gtrm this early before x

1st-time-Toya - YAY!!!! I'm so glad when I can help someone save! I bought my new clothes the day before I posted the lionk for everyone and half of my order showed up last week so it was nice wearing a new CUTE maternity shirt to work today!! Your welcome too Linnea! :)
Ann I get movement all over as well. Since the baby is so small right now they have room to swim around!
is anyone else having braxton hicks yet? I think I am having really light ones every now and then.

@ann82...... hi I'm on my 4th baby now!! Movement on both sides is totally normal, and good. Your baby is not only kicking you but prodding you with tiny little hands too. The butterflys are your little one having a wriggle. I've been feeling mine for a few weeks now and can tell when he/she rolls over too. I hope you are enjoying it, those kicks will soon get stronger and be keeping you awake lol x
