The right foot, including the developing bones, are clearly visible in the middle of the screen
Your baby's crown-to-rump length is 5.2 to 6 inches this week. Your baby weighs approximately 7 ounces and will increase its weight more than 15 times between now and birth!
Most women can feel their uterus about a half of an inch below their bellybutton at this point of pregnancy. If you turn to the side, you can really tell that your body is changing! Most women have gained up to 14 pounds now and only 7 ounces of that is your baby! The placenta weighs about 6 ounces and the amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby weighs 11 ounces. Your breasts have increased in weight by 6 ounces each and the uterus has grown to 11 ounces! You may be gaining weight in places other than your abdomen and this may be affecting your posture and sleeping habits.
One of the most amazing aspects of your baby's growth and development is that of the fetal brain. Your baby's brain is one of the first organs to appear. Your baby's oversized head shows the brain's importance in his development. Because the nerves that connect the muscles to the brain have grown into place, your baby's movements are consciously directed. Your baby's ears stand out from the sides of the head and the buds for your baby's permanent teeth appear. Your baby's arms and legs have reached their relative proportions and his feet are approximately one inch long.

I am dying. I am sick.. Oh My! I went to the comp. ob today. I thought the extra attention would be something I was into but nope! I am starting to get really tired of this. I was ten minutes early and sat in the office with the door closed alone for the next 40 minutes for him to walk in and out in less than 15... WTH? I asked him if I could take mucinex for my little cold and he was like yep. he didnt even check to make sure it was only a cold. I lost another 4 lbs in two weeks and once again baby was having nothing to do with the doopler for the heartbeat so they had to drag the u/s machine, which sucks and has horrible picture, in to see if she was okay. She hates anything poking into her space and they push down so hard on my tummy. Seems he was looking in the wrong place with the doopler cuz there she was just shaking her butt all the way up near my belly buttn. It actually looked like she was trying to get away from the wand. Oh but the best thing about the last 24 hrs is I got to feel her outside of my tummy for the first time last night. She kicked my hand so hard I just laid there and giggled. So okay, venting over. I am so miserable and I can't even look at dh without growling cuz he is the one that got me sick... UGH!!!!!!

Meredith- ugh house hunting,.. I thought it was going to be so much fun until 93458459068 houses later and 3 offers down the hole. We ended finding a WAY better house with everything we wanted and more. It just means a better house is out there. Good luck !

remi: I do in home companion care for a lady with alzheimers. I'm going to school to be a nurse, so that I can just work one or two shifts a week and stay home with my little girl the rest of the time. On another note, I'm really disappointed... We had put in an offer for a home, and had the high offer on the table, but the bank decided to give the house to an investor. It really sucks, and is quite discouraging actually. The investor had cash, and we were going to have to get a loan. Now it's back to the drawing table to try and find another house...

Meredith5029 - 19.6 hours ago
I find that about half the time I sleep on my belly... I'm so comfortable, and had never heard bad things about it. I am ssoooo tired today ladies. I can barely function, and I have no patience! I really need some time off. Working 7 days a week and going to school full time is killing me!
RemingtonsMommy - 19.8 hours ago
sometimes i wake up laying on the side of my stomach. i cant sleep directly on it, but i know when i sleep on it cause i wake up with a crampy belly!

The suspense is agonizing! I don't see how some of you would want to wait for a surprise!? To each their own, I suppose. Cudos to you for being able to go without knowing. - Congrats to all of you who just found out that you're having girls! I honestly want to have a boy. I am finding that the crankiness is based off of the environment in which I am in when it comes out. No longer is it the whole day here and there. No, no it's more like every day now in spurts.. My frustrations, I think mostly have to do with the fact that I don't have total control over my emotions like I normally would compared to not being pregnant. Oh well it's not the end of the world! -- I can't believe I'm wearing prego pants with no need of support of my Prego Belt.. Crazy..

I hear sleeping on your left gives the baby more nutrients.
stephaniev - 1 days ago
When the baby gets bigger and your alot further along they tell you to sleep on your left side because any other way cuts off stuff and puts pressure on your arteries ! from all the weight
stephaniev - 1 days ago
I sleep on my stomach ! doesnt bother me at all I did with my son too !! almost the whole way through untill the last month then i slept on my side sorta with lots and lots of pillows lol
krissyRYEcarpenter - 1 days ago
is anyone else totally excited about having your baby at tax season? lol i know it sounds crazy but i cant wait. i thoroughly intend on spending every dime on this baby [: we already picked out this gorgeous sleigh crib. we though it'd be best to buy new furniture and such instead of reusing peytons. even though it's not like she suffered when she passed away in her crib, i think it'll give us a sense of a fresh start.
oh and we decided on names. for now anyways. it'll be makynli peyton faith for a girl and kayne frederick for a boy. only 7 more days till we see [:

the dr. says that sleeping on your stomach can compromise the oxygen flow to your baby..but if you wake up like that mabey theres a reason you wake up..so you can switch positions...your subconcious..i actually sleep on my side...but partialy on on one side of my tummy..

Are we okay to sleep on our tummies by week 19...I wake up and find myself sleeping this way and get nervous. Anyone have any opinions?

My appt went well yesterday. We got to hear the heartbeat beating at 140 bpm's. My midwife encouraged me to get the H1N1 vaccine, but I am still not convinced.
My 20 week scan got booked for the 19th so I will actually be almost 22 weeks by then. I guess the later you get it, the more likely it is to find out the sex. I hope baby co-operates this time.
As for my due date, my midwife told me that she is going to go back to my original April 3rd date because it will give the baby longer in the womb and less chance of being induced after 42 weeks if it comes to that. She thinks the March 30th date is accurate, but doesn't want to make the mistake of inducing to early if I can go in to labour naturally.

hey ladies....ugh i just got in the biggest fight with my boyfriend. first time we faught in about 4 months. it got really bad...broken dishware bad...i left and went for a walk to get away for a bit but then lost my keys in the apartment and cant find them anywhere. when i got home he left and hasnt returned...the weird thing is im usually worried about him but frankly right now i dont care...he was calling me all kinds of names and saying i was crazy...so i decided not to make him a liar and went crazy on him....its crap because he doesnt have a job and hasnt for a while...i pay the bills with unemployment and go to school full time and come home and clean the house and make dinner....sometimes he helps but lately he's been asking me to buy him more and more stuff....today is his birthday and his excuse is always 'come on for my birthday present'....then he doesnt even say thank you!!!! i feel used and it sucks...the worst part about it is he never apoligizes for anything he ever does!!!!! so i know he'll get home and not say anything and then act like everything is ok!!! im so depressed and frustrated i cant stop crying...

I do not have to translate this for anyone, I hope.... LOL... there is one definition for this word and no more. Sorry people got offended by that but come on really? LOL.. Congrats on your babies ladies. I think blue team is winning. I also agree there is gender depression to a point. I had it for 48 hrs but I can't fight it and she aint going to grow a penis so got to live with it.

Hi all.... I just got released from the hospital today. I started bleeding on Satuday night and went to the emerg.... they sent me home and said it was do to my amnio I got 4 weeks ago... I was still bleeding Sunday, called the dr. and he said to come back... again I went home with an appt for a ultrasound Monday morning... as it turns out.... I have a complete placent previa!! NOT COOL!!!
I was admitted on the spot and they would not let me out untill the bleeding had stopped for 24 hours... I am now home and on bed rest for 4 weeks until my next ultrasound!! My little baby boy was super laid back and just chillin and waving during the ultrasounds.... I told him he better give me a break when he finally arrived.....lol
Sooooo, if any of you have any kind of spotting at this stage of the game.... get you cute pregger butt to the emerg.... it could be life threatening to you and your babe!!

I bought a stethescope a while ago and haven't been able to hear the babies heart beat with it yet. My husband gets to name her and so far he's thought of Kay, Kaylin, Kayla and Kayleen. I think I like Kayleen the most out of those. I've been getting heart burn lately, I'm tired and I have cramping off and on in my lower abdomen, which I'm sure is caused by my belly, uterous, etc. stretching. I've also had cramps in my calves in the middle of the night. Those are no fun. I haven't felt the baby move today, but she was active the last couple of days before that. I felt her hiccups yesterday.

I bet there aren't a lot of people out there that admit to gender depression. Sometimes people get fixated on the way they 'want' things to be. Sometimes it just takes a while for it all to sink in. I hope that most people just feel blessed and enjoy what they are given.

Has anybody heard of gender depression, my sisters girlfriend said she suffered from that..She wanted a girl well her husband wanted a girl and she was pregnant with a boy and she was depressed over it..I dont mean to be insensitive but I thought that was weird and selfish on the parents part..I mean theres nothing wrong with having a 'want'..Like I want another girl..But I would be just as excited if they told me I was having a boy.And most importantly a healthy baby..I just wanted to know if this was something common because actually this is the first I've heard of it...

OMG... I can't believe I slept through the drama... I'm glad it is over and I'm glad that most of us don't seem to go looking for a reason to be insulted. I feel like we have a pretty great group here and no one seems to have any bad intentions... Whateve... Glad it seems to have passed, i probably would have jumpped in unnecessairly and made things worse. lol Congrats on the baby girl remingtonsmommy... Go team pink!!! Congrats on the baby boy phonics.... Go team blue!!! I love you all my fellow pregnant ladies xxx ooo

Hey ladies. I LOVE this site..but I also found another site that's really cool, especially if you like lots of topics and discussion threads. It's only for women who are expecting in March 2010. Wow. Sorry to hear that. I am not even sure what to register for. I know I want a pump, some bottles, and pacifiers, but what else since most of our gear we are reusing? I guess clothing, toys, and giftcards. Toys dont really come in handy until they start really trying to play with them.

phonics: I had my daughter 2 years ago and didn't think that we were going to have another one so I gave all of my daughters items to charity. Now we are having a boy and we have to buy everything from a car seat to a play mat. I have my sister donating some things to the cause, but for the most part we have to buy everything. :(

We used an old high chair with ou r first nad will reuse almost everything with our little boy. THoughI am thinking of getting a new bouncer nad swing because the others worked, but I want something with actual features. As for hte swing I want one that goes side to side as well as back and forward. I have boxes and boxes of clothing to get rid of though.
craven - 2 days ago
We're also reusing everything. No need to buy new, maybe a few blue pj's if it's a boy, that's about it.

Hi ladies, been out of the loop, computer problems - Three weeks without internet...MAJOR withdrawl! Well, we have our big u/s next week and since we don't want to know the sex it is really going to be difficult (I'm betting that we're going to crack and find out!! he he he). My 18 month old has been the grinch lately, it's like living with Jeckel and Hyde. She actually made ME cry this morning for the first time! go figure! Her constant nooooooooos and violent head shaking is really irking us too. It's like 'Maya, would you like...' 'NOOOOOOOOOOO' (violent head shake), What if I said cookie??? No cookie for you!! Ha! Sorry for the rant, but I've been pretty isolated and my little grumpel stilskin hasn't been helping my mood. Need a good laugh! My husband and I rented Revolutionary Road last night...well, that didn't help. What a downer (although good acting)! I think tomorrow I'm going to suggest Bruno or Iron Man or something where thinking and feeling are not necessary. I need to check out for awhile!

Phonics - we are reusing all the baby things; swing, bouncing chair, playmat, etc. My daughter is only 15 months old so the stuff is still fairly new.... and well this poor kid is just getting hand-me-downs.

Ladies, don't forget this site is very public and anyone can create a pseudonym and just for laughs try and stir up others...I would not be surprised if bored teenagers (hopefully not adults)are creating accounts just to have fun at our expense. Profiles with no pics, phony-sounding introductions, no other existing comments on main page, situations that sound too good to be true or too awful to be believable. You don't need a PhD to do some screening with your intuition and keep this site PLEASANT. I don't mean to drag it on longer but I was disgusted by the childishness...Something to think about...
