Your baby's crown-to-rump length is 5.2 to 6 inches this week. Your baby weighs approximately 7 ounces and will increase its weight more than 15 times between now and birth!

Most women can feel their uterus about a half of an inch below their bellybutton at this point of pregnancy. If you turn to the side, you can really tell that your body is changing! Most women have gained up to 14 pounds now and only 7 ounces of that is your baby! The placenta weighs about 6 ounces and the amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby weighs 11 ounces. Your breasts have increased in weight by 6 ounces each and the uterus has grown to 11 ounces! You may be gaining weight in places other than your abdomen and this may be affecting your posture and sleeping habits.

One of the most amazing aspects of your baby's growth and development is that of the fetal brain. Your baby's brain is one of the first organs to appear. Your baby's oversized head shows the brain's importance in his development. Because the nerves that connect the muscles to the brain have grown into place, your baby's movements are consciously directed. Your baby's ears stand out from the sides of the head and the buds for your baby's permanent teeth appear. Your baby's arms and legs have reached their relative proportions and his feet are approximately one inch long.

My doctor always feels to see how far my uterus has grown to, like to the belly button, etc.. They don't use a tape to measure yet, but they will feel to see where you have grown to.

Crookedmule- Call the manager and tell them that you either want them to do it again or you want your money back. You got the worst treatment. How dare she rush through an ultrasound that you paid for. As far as the sex it doesn't sound to me like she even tried. My ultrasound tech spent 30 minutes just getting measurements, luckily he saw boy right away, but even when he did he still showed us many angles of the boy parts so that we could just see. He even showed us Isaac's bladder was full which meant his kidneys are working well, then he showed me how full mine was and we had a little laugh. My point is, too many times these guys forget that they are dealing with people. I don't care if your tech had a bad day, or maybe his/her panties were riding something fearce, they still should have not taken it out on you. Babies get in bad position, mine was too our photos came out aweful, but it doesn't mean you don't have to try. I am sorry, push the manager to do what is right.

hi, im a little bummed out about my ultrasound, i was rushed, it only lasted about 15 minutes. she asked if we wanted to know the gender, we obviousl said yes. she quicky showed us the heart, flicked over the spine for a split second, baby was face down so didnt get a look at the face or nothing. she tried to see the 'goods' there was 1 thick white line, not the 3 i saw with my daughter and no obvious scrotum. she kept saying baby is in an awkward position but said she would say 75% girl. is she saying this because the boy part appeared missing or she saw girl parts? im sooo frustrated. my u/s pics were awful. we paid £12 for 4 pics and theyre all the same and show hardly anything. in uk i get no more u/s. thats why im thinkin of a private scan. im confused about the 1 white line. she didnt try and see anymore times in the scan and didnt try anymore angles. she seemed very unsure. ahhhhhhh this is so bad, least i know baby is healthy or should i believe her on that either coz she seemed rubbish! anyone know of babys gender changing at birth? im so gutted, i like to plan ahead and now i cant, i was so looking forward to the 20 week scan and now im no further forward. sorry for venting ladies, but any advice would be appreciated

BabyRoss: The doctor doesn't start busting out the measuring take till you're closer to giving birth...first time I saw my doctor do that was about 34 weeks...the later in pregnancy you get, your uterus will measure how many weeks you are in cm...it's a pretty cool concept, but you have a ways to go before your doctor will start measuring your belly that way.

We picked the baby's name. Isaac Don Dupaya. Isaac Hayes is one of my all time fav's and Don is after both our Dad's. Don is my Dad's middle name and Donny is Clamino's Dad's name.

We will not find out what we are having. We found out with four of the pregnancies, and then with the last one we waited and it was WONDERFUL! So we will not find out this time either. I did NOT sleep well last night.. I think I got maybe three hours sleep. Should make for an interesting day with the kids. Hope i can squeeze in a nap...lol.

I think I have a hernia. Has anyone else had this problem? Its a bump above my belly button, and I can push it back in. it hurts when I pick things up, or push on it. which sucks because I have 16 month who is a total hip hugger. I see my doctor next week so I'll ask her then but does anyone know anything about them?

Did I mention I am jealous of those of you that already know the sex???? My dr's office called today asking to move my appt even further away! I told them I have been counting the days! They are letting me see a midwife instead of my dr. I don't care, I just want to see my baby!!! Starting to FINALLY feel little kicks here and there. I forgot about the little kicks because I rembered the big foot or elbow across the belly feeling.

The movements I'm feeling are sometimes definite jabs and bumps. I can tell if it's something smaller and sharp, like an elbow, knee or heel and then I can also feel a larger bump that feels like it may be a head or butt. Also, I can feel smaller sensations, like movement or wiggling at times, which I think is maybe baby just repositioning or making small movements? The movements are getting much more powerful, that's for sure, and higher up! My uterus is above my navel now, despite where it's supposed to be. But, this is also my sixth pregnancy.

AlwaysBlessed: The majority of the time I only feel my baby move when I lay really still. Sometimes at work when I'm sitting up I feel stuff too. When he moves to a new position it just feels like my stomach is rumbling? At other times (I think it is kicks) it feels like something poking my stomach from the inside. that is the best I can explain what I am feeling, but I am sure everyone is different? I have a doppler and when I feel him move, I can put the doppler right where I felt it and get his hearbeat, so I am certain it is him that I am feelig.
