By week 32, your baby weighs nearly 4 pounds! The crown-to-rump length of your baby is approximately 11.7 inches and the total length is about 18.9 inches. Your uterus is now 5 inches above your bellybutton. Some doctors do not see their patients every other week until now. So, if you were going to the doctor monthly, you may begin going once every other week now.
Sleeping boy. the baby sleeps 90-95% of the day, and sometimes experiences REM sleep, an indication of dreaming.
Now that your baby has grown so long and your uterus is higher, you might notice a new discomfort. Your baby is probably head-down and may occasionally stretch out and kick you in the ribs. The pressure on your rib cage can make you sore, especially if one of your baby's feet becomes caught. You can prevent this by sitting up straight as much as possible. Because your baby's demands for vitamins and minerals are higher than ever right now, you should continue to take your parental vitamins for the entire pregnancy.
This week your baby's movements will peak. You should continue to monitor the fetal movements daily and address any concerns with your caregiver. The wrinkles in your baby's face are disappearing and fat is still being deposited throughout the baby's body.
The body growth slows down from now on.
Because of the lack of space in the uterus, the legs are drawn up in what is known as the fetal position.
As a preparation for breastfeeding, your baby has learned to root for the breast. The baby will turn its head if touched on the cheek and open its mouth if the bottom lip is tickled. By this time the baby can also suck and swallow in a coordinated way.

oh i forgot to say he weighed 10 lbs 1 oz
heidima - 4.5 hours ago
i gained 80 lbs with my first, lol... i weighed myself at the hospital after i had him and already lost 30. i was soooooo hungry when i was pregnant with him.
laurae2001 - 7.4 hours ago
i cant stop eating..help...im always hungry and ive already gained 40lbs..good lord how much worse can it get!!!
gmarie - 10.5 hours ago
This is totally random, but: a friend of mine gave me all her maternity clothes when I got pregnant, and at the bottom of the box was something called a 'prenatal cradle'. It's...basically a truss. I laughed it off at the time, but I got desperate and put it on today, and I'm telling you - it's supporting my enormous, rock hard, full of gigantor-baby belly and giving my back and hips a break. I was even able to take my son for a walk today, pulling his wagon. Don't know if it would help anyone else, but I'm sold.

I found a neat game for DH. Set the tv remote on my belly and let the baby kick it on floor and see how many times DH will pick it up for me before he gets mad!
sarahgenebean - 11.4 hours ago
I am trying everything I can find, on all fours off the edge of the couch, ice pack on the top of my tummy and heat on the bottom, headphones on the bottom of my tummy, I am even going to an acupuncturist and chiropractor! Since I already had a section, the doc will not try to turn it.
mina`smommy - 11.5 hours ago
thanks ladies. I might try the soda in water if my tums don't work. I went ahead and bought some today. I didn't want another sleepless night.
jellybeanapril6th - 12.5 hours ago
If your baby is still breech, try watching tv on all fours or just spend 10 mins or so each day, it gives them room to turn round, you still have a few weeks anyway plus the doc may try to turn them,
laurae2001 - 13.1 hours ago
thankfully mine is not breach but the dr told me its still soon ...if the baby hasnt turned by week 36 then you should give up on natural birth..sorry to hear about your situation..these babies have minds of there own..dont they
Neris82 - 13.3 hours ago
Sadly mine is not breech I've already had two c-sections for that very reason and the one I get who isn't breech I don't get a choice on vbac lol
sarahgenebean - 13.5 hours ago
Anyone else still have a breech baby? My lil girl is not turning around, & I'm getting nervous. I had to have a csection with my last cuz she was breech too.

acid reflux - teaspoon bicarbonate of soda in splash of water, plus milk to wash the awful taste away but this works instantly

Hey ladies lately i have been having tingling and numbness in my face...i went to doctor today and he is referring me to a neurologist was wondering have any of you had this happen and should i be worried about it?????
gmarie - 16.3 hours ago
My OB recommended Prilosec OTC for the reflux, and it has REALLY helped. I got the generic 14 day version, and I haven't had any problems since I started it. We'll see how it goes once I finish the 14 days, but it's been a huge relief. I was eating something like 10-12 Tums a day, and they weren't helping.

hello ladies so i had my baby shower yesterday it was great just the way i wanted it couldn't have asked for more !! I got alot of clothing and some other things whatever i didnt get i will get when my taxes come back which should be real soon !! I am feeling so ready i am getting alot of bh and the charlie horse omg it's the worse!!
mere-and-girl - 2 days ago
For those of you wondering what a bh feels like... My whole belly gets hard, and if I'm walking or moving around I can feel my ligaments pulling. It doesn't hurt really, but is definitely uncomfortable. On another note, I started spotting on wednesday night, had my doctor's appointment first thing in the morning. Apparently I have a yeast infection and didn't even realize it. Come to find out that having a yeast infection can cause your cervix to bleed. I've never had a yeast infection before, and didn't have any of the symptoms, except for weird discharge. My doc and I laughed because pregnancy causes so many weird types of discharge, that how was I supposed to know that this was any different? Lol.

Craven - Thanks, I know it's early to be worried - it's my nature I guess.
I'm not going to have a birthing plan - I am open to whatever my body needs and my midwife suggests. there's only a few things I know I want - which don't have anything to do with my physical state. (like my DH announcing the sex...)
It doesn't help that when I get into reading about what's going to happen during delivery - I get all lightheaded! Sucks to be so squeamish.
craven - 2 days ago
mollybax...deep breath....every experience is different. We tend to always hear more about the bad experiences and forget about the millions of normal, uneventful births. My first was 'traumatic' by definition, and now that I look back at it, everything happened so fast, and the doc's were great, that it now seems more like a hiccup then anything else, and I am in no way scared for the next one since I truly believe every experience is different. Just stay relaxed and remember to go with the flow. Some prefer birthing plans, I tend to just take every minute as it comes and deal with it at that time (also because my first experience was totally different from what I anticipated), but for me, the take it as it comes attitude works. And try not to listen to too many stories nor watch birthing shows at this point if you're scared. Sometimes innocence is bliss......:) But again it totally depends on how you feel. others may need to see and know as much as possible. For you only to decide! Good luck and don't worry in advance!!!
mollybax - 2 days ago
I have heard many birth stories since I know about 8 new mothers in the past 6 months and I am getting a little worried about the delivery.
Each story is somewhat different. Most of those I have heard have been somewhat normal- and a couple have been what even the doctors called traumatic....Any comforting words here?
I know my DH will support me 500% and I guess I need to take comfort in the fact that we will have all the medical help we could ever need... RIGHT?

ingoy - I have a fibroid, but they really haven't been keeping tabs on it. But I am still measuring correctly.
craven - 2 days ago
Discharge is totally normal at this point, and it is most likely not the plug, but if it is starting, don't worry. Last pregnancy I lost my plug in bits and pieces from about 33-34 weeks on (gave birth at 39), and for those who this is their first pregnancy it is more of a chunky-type (sorry tmi) discharge as opposed to liquidy (meaning you'll see chunks in the toilet after peeing - again, tmi). And it could happen over a period of several weeks, so don't go checking into the hospital just yet unless it's tinged with blood (bloody show), then labour may be close. But yellowish discharge is normal, it is good mention it to your doc anyhow.
ingoy2k - 2 days ago
Hi All,
Just had my 32 week check up with doc and she has told me that I am messuring 35 weeks, yikes - which means I am either having a big baby or the fibroid I have is now the same size as the Baby, dont know which I think is better. any other ladies there been told they have fibroids.

Has anyone else had a discharge from down there that is yellow in colour? I am starting to get worried that I am loosing my plug already! Is anyone else noticing this? I have been given a brace as my pelvic bones have parted slightly and it is sore to walk and I am now wondering could this be cause a slight leakage or breakdown of the plug. I did not have this on my son and I am really nervous that things are happening before they should. Help is needed ladies if any of you know why this is happening can you please message me. Thanks xx

stacy83, I bought a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag. The picture is on my site. I got my bag when I was 4 months. I think that you should just spend the 200.00 buck and get it. You will love it. My bad cost 200.00, I think that she has some cheaper bad they are just smaller. You only live once buy what you want and forget the price. I have bought my baby Burberry, Juicy Couture, and Ralph Lauren. Of course I bought everything on sell except the diaper bag.

well last day in week 32 today! YAY time is slowly tickin'.... crazy that we only have a few weeks left... YIKES! at least the bf finally put our crib up yesterday! now all i have left to do is some packing! none of my bags are packed yet, still gotta find a diaperbag! bf wants one that would be 'guy' friendly so he doesnt look like he is carrying around a purse, ha! although i did see a really cute one a petunia pickle bottom one at a boutique but its damn near 200! yikes for a diaper bag?!? it better have some magic tricks hidden inside or something. i really wish it was in my budget and bf liked it too... maybe i'll order one somewhere we live in a pretty crudy area for shopping.

day 3 for me with a feverish 2 yr old... he only has a fever and nothing else, but it wont go away on its own and I have to keep giving him motrin or it will go back up to about 103. He is showing no other symptoms and is perfectly fine as soon as the meds kick in. I know 103 is high, but as long as he stays normal temperment wise, I'm going to hold off on taking him to the ER. I will just wait until tomorrow to get him checked out if this fever persists. I feel bad for my son, but I would like it to go away on this superbowl sunday! I would feel bad taking him anywhere.

ALSO.... I get a numb sensation in the exact same spot every time, on my left side by my ribs or right on my ribs but in that exact same spot every time, it just starts feeling numb and sorta tingly...
stacy83 - 3 days ago
remingtonsmommy- i too wonder that exact same thing i feel pressure and can especially feel it up by my ribs but dont know if he is just sticking his butt out or a BH... hmmm
remingtonsmommy - 3 days ago
ok so... I feel like I should know this, but I feel like I dont bc I dont think I have had them, but what is the diff in feeling btwn a BH and just the baby pushing her butt our back out causing pressure/tension in that spot? I am guessing I just have not had a BH so maybe thats why I dont know what they feel like, but sometimes I think that I may be just missing them, or attributing them to being the baby just pushing out in that area causing the pressure... Someone enlighten me please... I need details!

who knows what stores you can buy Glass bottles at? I have the plastic ones from my son but I feel as if they are much safer and cleaner when glass. j/w
brandyv - 3 days ago
I decided to keep the bottles. My baby won't have a choice, so I hope she takes to the bottle and breast. The playtex bottles I got claim to be most like mother, have a really good rating and include different nipples. I hope to breastfeed for a year. I just went and spent more money on baby stuff. $200+ later, I feel ready if the baby were to come early. I'm washing everything right now.
o0kat0o - 3 days ago
LOL i was a fussy baby i never took a bottle. my parents tried everything. I would only take the breast or a straw cup. so if bottles dont work try using different things. doesnt matter how old they are- if they like it they learn how it works pretty quickly.
goingfor3 - 3 days ago
if your planning on bfing then 4 bottles will probably be fine. I wouldn't recommend spending too much now in case you get a picky baby.. we ended up buying EVERY nipple on the market for dd#2.. and she still didn't take a bottle until she was 11mo old... it was extremely frusterating! I couldn't ever leave her with anyone.
