i wanted to have this baby 2 weeks ago, they let me go this long because the doctor miscalculated my due date ... it started out as the 30th of april.. then the first of may.. then the 12th of may... and now he has finalized it as the 5th.. but according to date of conception and last period it was in fact the 30th.. i think they are sTARTING out just breaking my water because i am already having contractions 4-5 mins apart and my cervix is completely shortened and 2 cm.. i hope it goes fast being in labour for a week before the actual day is exauhsting !! i go for my 5th non stress test tomorrow, hope they keep me !

Krysandbundleofboy---I SO totally understand what you're saying. I swear everyday I get at least 5 calls or text messages. My mother in law is the WORST. She'll say, 'any real contractions?'. What the heck is that supposed to mean? If I was having REAL contractions, then I'd be in labor and she'd get a call. I know strangers mean well, but they can be bad too. When are you due, do you know what you're having? Blah Blah blah. I don't want to leave the house because I don't want to have a million converstations with people about it! I can't believe you're 16 days overdue. Why did they let you go that long? Was that something you wanted? Are you ok with being induced? how are they doing it?

16 days over due!... im so happy im getting induced monday... But friends and family are pissing me off BIG TIME. Every day i am trying to get as much rest as possible, trying to relax and not think about the pending labour... although i have already been in labour pain for a week, But every one is calling everysingle day asking if the baby is here yet, when they all know WE WILL CALL THEM when the baby is here so stop calling and let me sleep!! they all act like everything is hunky dory and im not in pain and not tired & frustrated and act surprised because i havnt left the house yet today asking why not... Uhh CAUSE I FEEL LIKE SHIT..!!! Oi ~! Needed to let off some serious steam :) thanks for being there for me these 9 months ladies,labour dust to all of you.. i hope you dont have to become as over due as i am!

hi happytobeamommy - I know how you feel my induction was pushed back 2 days but they were kinder and didnt wait to change it on the actual day - I feel so bad for you it made me feel really deflated too even though I would prefer to go into labour on my own.. here's hoping that your baby is in your arms very shortly.. p.s as per my comment yesterday I got my liver/kidney function blood tests back today (I had to chase them up - typical) and everything is ok :-) labour dust to everyone!

how do i change my setting so it says that I am not pregnant anymore. I had elle on april 24, and I have tried to change it so it says that I am not pregnant any more but it just won't work for me.. does any one know what I may be doing wrong? thanks for any help.. and i hope you ladies are enjoying your last days of pregnancy! emily :)

So frustrated right now... was supposed to be being induced as we speak - 9am appointment, I am 10 days overdue at this point. Midwife called to say there are no beds and she will call later to let me know if I can get in today! I was mentally and physically prepared for today to be the day - family driving 3 hours to come for this and bam! My fault for picking such a busy hospital:( Okay, enough whining, time for some positive energy... this baby will come out...

I had my beautiful baby girl, Riley Tindall Cook may,6 at 8:36 pm she was 8 pnd 21 inch i had her natural, i was in labor 25 hours and i pushed for one hour. I have posted pics so come see my beautiful baby and leave a comment. I wish the best to all of you.

Finally...I gave birth!!! Amy Lynette, May 8,08 (just got out of hospital a couple days ago) labor for 18 hours, then quick C-section cause cord around the neck. 7lb 10oz 20inches. Labor wasn't bad at all, the c-sec went well, it just the after effects....c-sec hurts a LOT afterwards, still can't function let alone walk or sit up without serious pain meds in me! baby had slight fever so we stayed an extra day, then went home and I got a fever so now I'm on heavy antibiotics. Oh well, over all though I would do it a hundred more times just for this little girl! Hope everyone else is doing well!

has anyone heard of or tried Evening Primrose Oil , i found info about that while tryingto find out if red raspberry teat will soften cervix! Please comment on my page if u have ever tryed it! I am off to get it now, as well as red raspbeery leaf tea/ and pills, what do u all recooomend, pills or tea, or both?

kevinsmilf thanks for replying :-) I know how you feel about the time dragging - they said that they pushed my induction back so with a bit of luck my cervix will be more favourable on the 21st so they will just have to break my waters rather than pump me full of drugs AND they already have overbooked ladies for induction on the 19th and 20th anyway! lol but I am still waiting for the results from my blood test as to why there is protein in my urine (I think that it maybe because there was blood in my urine since I had the failed sweep which caused me to bleed) - I'm fed up of playing waiting game - waiting game sucks lol xxx

Hi ladies! I'm from week 18, but this is my second child. Try to avoid induction as much as possible. It's like being hit with a mac truck. If you do it, I suggest epiderals even if you are not in pain yet. Once they turn the pitocin drip up, believe me you will feel it. It's not a slow progression as if you would go naturally. Good luck to all! Enjoy, and get some sleep!

baby.bray - I'm so sorry they pushed your date back. :( That sucks. That's the date I'm supposed to go in for my induction. It feels like it will NEVER be here. Like baby will NEVER be here, lol. I'm in almost the same boat as you as far as cervical progress goes. I've been 1 cm dilated, 25% effacement and -3 station since 36 weeks. I just lost part of my plug YESTERDAY. And now all those wonderful pre-labor contractions I'd been having since Thursday have disappeared. I've had 2 membrane sweeps with no luck. If there is protein in your urine, why would they push your induction date back 2 days??

so my midwife came out to perform a sweep this morning, which was unsuccessful (and bloody), the neck of the womb was pretty much unreachable and closed - completely unprepared for labour... she took my blood pressure several times and it had shot up - there was also protein in my urine, she felt for engagement and the baby's head is still free above the pelvis so she called the antenatal unit at the hospital and advised that I would be there shortly... hubby picked me up and took me to the hospital - there they monitored baby's heartrate which was fine, my blood pressure had gone down but there was an even stronger indication of protein in my urine so blood test were done to find out if there is a problen with my liver/kidneys.. I also had an U/S to make sure that baby was definately not breech - the U/S showed that it WAS a head above the pelvis... my induction was originally expected to take place on monday 19th may but they have pushed it back as far as they can to wednesday 21st may in the hope that I will go into labour on my own (which I really hope will be the case) or at worst my cervix will be more favourable they dont want me to go more that 14 days over after this scare x so now they've let me come home and they will ring with results on my liver kidney tests. sorry for the long rant ladies - good luck to everyone, you are all in my thoughts xxx

Is anyone considering keeping their cord blood? I just wondered if any of you knew how much it costs...I had this horrible dream that my 5 year old had leukemia...my sister said 'Maybe you should save your cord blood..' Got me thinking ya know..? Leave msg on my page, thanks!

wow week 41 - having a midwife come out to do a sweep in a few hours - I've never even had a smear before so I dont really know what to expect lol but I'm sure it wont even compare to being 'on display' in labour, really hope that this sweep works for me x good luck to all us mammas out there still waiting to hold our babies :-)

week 30! WOW! but I am still looking for info on venous lakes, I have found stuff on the computer but my interest to to talk to more people with this condition who have had or has it! it only happens in one in 2500 pregnancies. I need to know more, I think I have make up my mind and asking for a csection (pending the doctor will do it!). but I need more advice from the wise. Thanks :0)

Hi all due to go in for induction today at 8am 1 week overdue,have been having contractions for most of the night am up now as they are about 10 mins apart getting more painful lost my plug last week after sweep but last night has a bloody show thought they were the same thing really hoping this is it this time as I have had false alarms will be really glad if she comes on her own good luck to all of you still waiting hope this gives you hope your time will come

i have lost my mucous plug yesterday morning. it had brown streaks in it and was very thick and jelly like. does anyone know if this may be a sign of labour to come, or not?

Finally Light At the end Of my Very LONG tunnel... Im Getting Induced Monday morning at 8:00 am... ON MY BIRTHDAY OF ALL DAYS! Holy hannah... Kinda think ill go before then..went from cervix closed and like 20% effaced to open and 90% with contractions every 6-8 mins.. :) And... I Finally lOst my PLuggie today ... How gross.. :)

Alyssa Paige was born on May 9th at 4:13PM weighing 6 lbs. 10 oz, 19 inches long. Will post pictures and birth story later - at the moment I'm a hormonal mess!!! (Both in a good way - and in a bad - whiney kind of way!) 1st day home is today and I spent most of it crying - without electricity.. thank god for my aunt - who whipped my ass back into shape! Got electic again (obviously or I wouldnt be posting)... and now all is fine and dandy! OH!!! ONE MORE THING - GET THE EPIDURAL!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!!!!

Our baby finally arrived!! A beautiful baby boy on 9th May 2008 at 08:35am! 7lb 15oz....after 36 hours of labour, my wife became fully dilated....but her temperature went up and baby's heart beat starting racing - so they rushed her for an emergency C-section........both are doing good.....both are getting an antibiotic at the min as a precaution.........he's the spitting image of his Mum!! :-)
