Babies suck really hard

Babies suck really hard. I had the serene image of a tiny suckling baby gently drinking and got quite a shock when I latched on my first born and felt the pure force of a new born's suck. It was not unpleasant just unexpected. I love breastfeeding. It is such a lovely time to share between you and your babe and I would not trade it for anything. Put the time in to latch baby on well. It saves a lot of pain from cracked nipples. Check out how far the nipple is sucked down babies throat in this picture. You get to see this if you ever use an electric breast pump.

My nipples actually started to bleed, and were cracked, whilst breast-feeding, it was agony. I got a special cream, with wax in it, that helped, and they toughened up after a while.
