I seen my doc yesterday and we done another ultra sound because i am just 30 weeks and measuring 35. He thought i had extra fluid. Anyway she weighed 4bls 8 oz and the fluid looked OK there wasn`t way to much but there was plenty. But is 4lbs 8 oz to much for 30 weeks???? and i am almost dialated to a 1 and 50 effaced. The Doc said that he really wants me to make it to 32 weeks. Does it sound like she will come early to you guuys????? I am so worried about her HELP!!! i need some type of peace of mind

At 30 weeks your baby has an excellent chance of survival. My son was born at 35, yes early and he only weighed 5lbs 15oz. A little peanut. My high risk dr's tell me that at a bare minimum they want me to go to week 29. My hospital delivered sucessfully a preemie at 24 weeks and baby is doing excellent. Have faith that baby will come exactly when She/He is supposed to. Take a deep breath and relax! Pregnant women aren't supposed to worry so much. I know it's easier said than done- but have faith in knowing you are in a good position thus far should baby decide to come. :)

Hi, I wouldn't get too worried about it. If you were to go into labour in the next few weeks there are drugs available that are very successful in delaying delivery. You might want to take things easy for the rest of your pregnancy. If you are 30 weeks and she is already over 4 lbs. then she is a good size and obviously growing well. If you do go early they can also give you steroids to help strengthen the baby's lungs before delivery. I had my son at 27 weeks in 1993 and he was only 2lbs. 7 oz. He is 14 years old today and perfectly healthy.

Hi, nope you should be fine dilated to 1cm isnt anything that means your still basically not dilated that where youe cervix goes to when your pregnant you have to be dilated all the way to 10 cm to give birth and some ppl walk around for weeks dilated at 6 cm. so i wouldnt worry about it. Babys weight is based on the parents so it could be normal all babies are different some are bigger some are smaller...they just say you baby may weigh this and but them in a percentile. but honestly thy cant tell how much your baby weight in a u/s its only a guess-ta-ment! they can tell you wat it looks like and when the baby is actually born it will be differnt cuz in a u/s all they do is guess and subtract the fluid and wat they think the plancenta weighs or wat they think it should weight so dont worry about it.Just go off wat you doctor says if they worry aboutit they will put you on bedrest or something so if they havent then your fine and baby is fine. And really you dont want to have baby at 32 week cuz his lungs are not gonona be dev well at least 37 weeks so that you can take baby home okay hun! and oh yeah if you having a boy they usually weigh more then girls anyways i hope it helps some!

I think your Dr' is being causious in saying this to you so that IF things were to happen early, you're not unprepared. However, With my last two, I was partially diolated for a number of weeks prior to having them at 37-38 wks. If you can, rest up and NO CUDDLES from your man( if you know what I meanLOL) I'm sure your little girl will be perfect. I hope that helps. Remember your Dr' though, is the best person to ask specific questions to. :-)

She does sound like she might be a little big for 30 weeks, but im not sure, at my 29 week app. my son was 3 lbs 1 oz. but with you being dilated this soon, i would say she would probably come early, which they can give you meds to stop contractions and hold off for awhile, they will want to wait until her lungs are mature enough to be born. good luck

heyy im not sure how to ask a question like how you posted this but I kind of have a problem like yours I went and got my 3rd ultra sound yesterday to see if my placenta was still low lying but it fixed itself but when they did the measurements on the baby it showed me 22 weeks pregnant when the last 2 ultra sounds and my last period would make me 25 weeks so do you think that this means she isnt growing? And in your case im no doctor lol but i would think that she is just growing fast but you also have to remember that ultra sounds are not 100 % accurate bt please let me know what you think and let me know how to post a question thanks

I am/went through the same thing, however, I have big babies but with my first son I went full term and delivered on my exact due date. And the doctor has been keeping an eye on me this time because I have been measuring big since the beginning. However, I did have extra fluid that made me go into preterm labor 3 times before I got into week 30. At week 30 they did a sono on me and the baby was measuring 5lbs 2 oz. That was all my doc needed to see to tell me that he would probably induce at week 36 or 37 because by week 36 baby is full term and healthy. Try to hold it in as much as possible. I know its hard but have they put you on any medication. Because I am dilated like you they put me on brethine to stop contractions and to stop me from progressing anymore. Hope this helps. Good Luck and you can ask me anything if you have any questions. God Bless from week 35.
